  • I can't even imagine someone being this good at 18, that's impressive!!!! Well done!

  • How would you reccomend I practice on double-tounging?

  • @darknumber000 Hey! I would recommend practicing slow clarkes slurred and fluttertongued first. Then try them playing every single note giving the full value with a 'KA' attack. Then TA-KA. Then try to go back to the beginning (Slurred and Flutter) and add a little of speed little by little.

  • @doctortrumpet Hello and thanks! I'm 13 years old and I'm pretty average at double tounging but you can do them extremely clean and I think it'll help in the future if I can get better at it! I'll try doing that to help my double tounging! Thanks again!

  • Yeah, so there are a couple notes.

  • 9 people cannot double tongue...

  • my 14 year old friend is playing, and i have no clue hows hes going to play it...

  • Omg that's awesome!! Lol playing this Tuesday for honors band auditions.....no where even CLOSE to being this good lol I can barely double tongue!!

  • how can anybody dislike this.... i mean he is pretty much flawless and has great tone!

  • wow! flawless!!!! :D u should try playing herberts clarke's bride of the waves and carnival of the vence!

  • I love your sound bro! It's such a nice sound. And of course you have a beautiful articulation with a latin punch to it because of the way we speak. It's more pronounced! Your double tonguing is very clean and beautiful to lisen to.

  • mum !!! this guy is scaring me !!!! call the police !!! he is awesome !!

  • Very nice. I wish I could double tongue with that tone.

  • EXCELLENT REPRESENTATION OF PERUVIAN TALENT!!! THIS GUYS ROCKS. I HEARD HIM PLAYING PICTURES!!!

  • Bravo!

  • holy moly ur good like fur real btw what grade is this

  • Great rendition. Of all the videos posted thus far, your double tonguing has been the best. Do you have any advice on practicing your double tonguing?

  • I'm playing this at an solo competition in marc ^^

But I have to play it faster.. Even though I'd like to play in this tempo.

  • 152 bpm if anyone is wondering. thats the original piece tempo.

  • i felt like clapping at the end but then i realized i wasnt in a concert and i would just look like an ass, haha good job though ur amazing, but do u know around what tempo this is, im doing it for my solo

  • is it me or i suck when i play this song . .

  • Great TONE!

  • DAMN!!! I'm doing that piece for Solo and Ensemble this year

  • i love that you take the time to reset your ombisure, a lot of people don't think of how important that is

  • Aw, everything was sounding so great but he played the quarter-quarter-eighth note rhythm wrong at 1:48 ish

  • what kind of mouth piece do you use

  • @nodiny123 Hey nodiny I play something like a 1-1/4C with a 23 throat. Thanks for watching!

  • @doctortrumpet Dude I use a 1 1/4 C lol

  • @nodiny123 if you're looking for a good mouthpiece, go to the music store and get fitted. just because someone is a great player and is using some kind of mouthpiece doesnt mean it's the right one for you. everyon is different. make sure you remember!!

  • totally wow

  • the only thing i have to say is that you have to tighten the valve caps, because the clicking noise annoyed the crap outta me.

    this is insane.. :D

  • Comment removed

  • clean up the fracs and it'd be perfect

  • sweet jesus

  • OMG you are amazing I played this for solo and ensemble and got a one at regionals but a two at state (He said I took it too slow) but I still love the piece and it really helps you improve your double tounging. But anyways you are awesome on the trumpet! :)

  • Wow!

  • Wow!

  • Extraordinario!

  • WOW!

  • this is the best on youtube everyone else plays it to slow

  • Tempo was GREAT

  • one word. epic.

  • Perfect. I wish my double tonguing was as well defined as yours; I have slowed it down just a tad. You know, 30 beats per minute, ha. I can never seem to get the sharps at number 8 quite up to the speed Im working towards. I'm still having a lot of problems but I have plenty of time to work on them until solo & ensemble. Well done! It is amazing that you did so awesome in just one take. Once I have it worked up well enough I hope you will criticize it.

  • de k marca es tu trompeta?

  • sei bravissimo ...... complimenti bel suono, bella esecuzione.

  • i like how you sped it up , cuz everyone else on youtube plays it slow

  • You probably couldn't play it like this. One note, oh well. Let's see you play it flawlessly.

  • yum.

  • Complimenti, sei un ottimo trombettista, oltre ad avere una grande facilità di emissione di suono, hai una ottima intonazione ed uno staccato è leggero e molto efficace. Bravissimo! 5*

  • your like so good. i wanta see a vid that plays the song straight through tho

  • i will upload one soon, with both and just accompaniment for practice.

  • WOW that was insane. I played this piece in a concert but it wasnt nearly that clean or fast.

  • I remember playing this! Fun solo, scored a 95. He does it faster tho, great double tounging.

It's probably not on the sheet, but in my opinion the part starting at 1:25 sounds better slow

  • I played this piece once upon a time it feels like back in HS and I thought so too but he really brings out the beauty and keeps the tempo up which I admire quite a bit. But to each their own.

    Awesome Job!

  • You must have done a lot of work to get the piece to this level. Good job. Keep up that work.

  • really fantastic! I love your phrasing and musicality! Keep it up :-)

  • i wish i could double tounge like that, thats insane

  • triple tongue u mean....

  • hey man i'm from chimbote-peru, i'm playing the same piece for an audition. that was really good!!!

  • Thats the audition peice for Florida State University

  • wow that was great, you have a GREAT sound. The only thing i would say needs any work is there's a few inconsistencies with rhythm, like in measure 7, 0:19 and similar measures. Nice sound

  • maestro tas hecho un tremendo capo....felicidades me enorgullese tu progreso....bendiciones...gracias por el comentario....bye!

  • That was awesome, really amazing. I'm playing this for a solo this year. It was really good, two minor messups, but it was real good.

  • your recoveries are amazing when a note slightly crach you compensaate for it immediatly it is impressive

  • Wow! That was amazing. I performed this piece as freshman for Solo Ensemble a couple years back, I wish I could have played it half as well as you.

  • I can double tongue fine. I can double tongue at 160 at a consistent note. But as I play things like in measure 21-23, my tongue gets stiff. What can I do to make it smoother?

  • Think in DA GA... And blow more... A lot of air... Air makes Smoother

  • Ok, sweet thanks dude. This is really going to help a lot. Thanks, and good luck with your trumpet career. I look forward to seeing more of your work on here!

  • Try Vincent Cicowicz Flow Studies. I know that it is not related directly with the double tonguing but if the problem is that... It helps a lot. PS: Just an advice as a friend (Not as a teacher, lol)

  • Wow thats really amazing. I'm in 8th grade playing it for a solo ensemble competition. Whats some tips for playing the double tonging fast, and smooth?

  • I would reccomend you to play all the piece at 60 without slurs and pronouncing KA KA KA KA! with a lot of air... It helps a lot... remember you don't need to get tired... You can rest each staff. PS: I'm not a trumpet teacher. lol

  • You can also practice KA KA KA and GA GA GA, TA KA TA KA and DA GA DA GA!... With a lot of air in each note... Specially in GA and KA!. It's also useful.

  • lol, I really need to go back and play this piece. After hearing this, it just shows me how half-assed I played it. :-P

  • awesome! watching u play this is making me determined to try and play it!

  • I'm with huevo picante!

You really lowered my confidence. lmao but awesome job.

  • ugh, (has to play this in 2 months) thanks for destroying my confidence...but good job... XD

  • MOTHERFUCKER YOU'RE GOOD! WOW!!!

  • MUY BIEN!! So, when can we expect your CD to be out in music stores everywhere? lol...You're awesome, man. Keep the air going during those long strains of double tounging runs. That will make sure there are little cracked notes. Keep up the good work, bro.

  • awesome finger work and double tonguing skills

    nice job

  • really good

  • BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!! Check my version of Goedicke!!!

  • waw very good!!

    =)

  • Excellent performance!

  • I attempted this piece too, and unfortunately recorded a bad run through, but this guy is utterly amazing... I love his tone, and how easliy he just rips through the most difficult parts of this song... check out my recording... search for Goedicke Concert Etude... it is 3 minutes and 8 second long...

  • Very nice! I'm playing it to, but not that good... I like challenges, but I dont know very much songs. Any suggestions on difficult songs?
