  • @notavailableisnotava There was so much talent than just 4 as well. It wasn't in common for any of those artists showing up in random bar and take the stage with other bands. And it wasn't made into a big deal. When I met Laymen at as party to debut their diet album I was shocked to see such little attention Layne was getting cuz I was blown away. It was a great time to be in Seattle though. Sad that so much of that talent is also dead....

  • Layne is stout! He is the only attraction to this clip....sorry Second Coming!

  • Soft was after acquiring Travis Bracht. Totally different band than the one that did L.O.V. Evil. I thought MT Your Gun, The great big burn and Afraid of Love were all great songs.. The whole album grew on me though after watching them live.

  • @24sevenyo Haven't heard The Great Big Burn yet but I love Afraid of Love and MT Your Gun. I'm plannng to buy L.O.V.Evil later this month off Amazon.

  • they had a song called....soft that got national airplay......

  • come join a new group on facebook...... \m/ Alice in Chains ~ Mad Season \m/

  • Dude imagine living in Seattle during that time period were you can go to a local concert and just See Layne Staley, Kurt Cobain, Chris Cornell, Eddie Vedder up close and personal, Thats some amazing amazing shit. I mean really stop and think about i mean really really think about it. In one fucking city 4 fucking legendary rockstars. That shit just blows my fucking mind.

  • another window in layne's life. Thanks for sharing.

    R.I.P. Layne

  • Wait a minute, are you sure it was the Colorbox? cause I seem to remember this show being at the Rckndy....

  • wow rare stuff, thanks for posting this!

  • Layne was rare in that he never got overpowered by his bands.

  • @bockybalboa it's the snarl to a scream thing, such a trebel tone youre absolutely right... it's a miraculous thing that voice exsisted, as shitty as the world is now and the music thats on we barely deserve it! i am thankful the gods gave us it!

  • Fantastic post! I moved to Seattle in '94 and saw a lot of the music scene that year, but the Second Coming show was the one I remember most. I was confused when they disappeared for a while and re-emerged with a very different sound.

Do you have other songs for the show to post? Did they perform Afraid of Love or Great Big Burn? For over a decade I've been dying to see that live versions again.

  • fuck what i would have given to be that microphone.....

  • That's cool

  • unbelievable....is there anywhere left in seattle where i can go to hear good music when i get there?

  • i'm nearly in tears. i've never been envious/jealous/whatever. but now I envy you so fucking much, you're a lucky bastard. no offence :)

thank you so much for sharing.

  • Oh my God, you were so lucky!! Awesome vid :)

  • btw Layne looks effin hot!

  • i freakin' love this song, man!!

  • I was running sound at this show....and every show for about 10 years. This band was more than a one hit wonder. Two top ten hits nationwide (Soft, and Vintage Eyes) Not to mention the soundtrack for The Sixth Sense with Bruce Willis.

This song did well locally but pretty much nothing nationally.

  • Motohouse2....? Shad is that you bro. I say This "You remember Joe!"

  • Yep. Thats me............How is it going Joe?

  • can you say how it was work with layne at that time? how was he due to problems with heroin, on this show?

  • I didn't really get to interact with him too much. Most of the time he was pretty quiet and demure especially in crowds but one on one he would be more dynamic.

  • Is that Cantrell as Nona on the Les Paul?

  • it looks like it huh?

    haha

  • That is Maxi (Craig Holt) on guitar. At this time Maxi was actually the main singer/song writer for the band. His brother Ron is actually the one that wrote this song if memory serves me right. I think this was filmed at the Weathered Wall in Seattle.

  • Johnny Bacolas on the bass!

  • thanks for posting

  • Lucky you!

    wish I was there

    P:

  • stretch your skin across your frame and paint it blue!

  • i love everything about this guy.

    the most amazing singer ever..

rest in peace, we all love you and miss you

  • AWESOME, THANKS!

  • I love this! Catchy tune! Never heard it before. Man, was I missin' out!

  • Holy shit dude, i can't believe u were there!

  • im gonna stretch your skin across the frame and paint it blue ha ha memories Layne was the only reason this band was a one hit wonder.

  • @Minton78 Fuck off.

  • @Minton78

Not really. Layne did help them get some exposure locally with this song but this song never went national. When Travis and Dudley joined the band is when they got signed to Capitol Records. Their song 'Soft' went to #9 natiionally and and the second single, "Vintage Eyes" ended up going to #12. The tune 'Unknown Rider' was also used on numerous extreme sports videos as well as on the sound track for the movie "The Sixth Sense" with Bruce Willis.

  • @Minton78 Funny you say that. This song wasn't even a hit. Have you heard their album? How do you feel about AIC's latest album? We're dying to know your logic, friend.

  • @HanFamComp He's talking about the band "Second Coming" not AiC dumbass.

  • Thank you so much for posting this!

  • thats rad a new vid

  • clap! clap! clap!

    Rock on Layne! :)

    Greeeeeat. Thanks!!!!

  • that's awesome (p.s. his name is Layne)

  • Hey this ROCKS! where did you get it?

    thanks!!
