I still can't understand why Harvey is always wearing another dress then the other Edna's. And I think it's an honor to hairspray that harvey did played the first and the last show. I can cry when I see this video. Harvey and the rest of the Broadway cast...
THE FANS WILL MISS YOU AND THEY WILL NEVER NEVER NEVER FORGET YOU!
Such a shame it's closed on Broadway but i like how people who were in the show came back & onstage 2 sing You Cant Stop The Beat finishing the show off in style & im very suprised that they have decided 2 close Hairpsray in London's West End when it was doing so well cause most show's only last till 3 years in the West End with some exceptions example The Lion King which is now in it's 10th year woo hoo oh well at least they are goin on a UK Tour already got my ticket's yay
FRONT ROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????????? Luckyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!! I would have given anything to be in that theatre in that night! It is such an awful shame that it had to close!!!!!!
For as amazingly uplifting as the show is this video is extreamly depressing! lol i was lucky enough to recently have seen the show on its tour... it was amazing and i so badly want to be a part of hairspray but its over on broadway :'(
i think they could have kept it afloat for a little bit longer and wait for the economy to get better but it was amazing that Harvey and Marissa returned to finish the show
It really wasn't the economy that closed the show. It had been in a gradual decline and it was it's time to go. The show had become stale and was losing it's spark as well as it's audience. 6.5 years is a very respectable run for a broadway show.
Does anyone know if Alexa Vega, Diana DeGarmo, Jenifer Lewis, Darlene Love, Ashley Parker Angel, Haylie Duff, Kathy Brier, Matt Morrison, or Mary Bond Davis was in that huge crowd of alumni?
i love you.

If you're referring to the person in the black turtleneck, that's a man, lol. He's Paul Huntley, who designed the wigs for the show.

Fantastic video, you had an awesome view.
I've been lucky enough to see the show from the front row a couple of times, wish I could have been there on the 4th Jan.
Thanks for sharing this footage with those of us who couldn't make it.
