This is really cute but the story is wrong her leukima started at age 10 or 11 or something she grew up strong and healthy before then she didn't die in her sleep she died when her dad fed her her last word was this is good she folded over 1000 cranes she didn't faint her mother took her for a check up when er neck swelled

The book says that she did not died when sleeping. The book says she looking at the paper cranes. And the paper cranes seems to be flying out of the window. She sigh..and closed her eyes, she died.. she died at 11 years old October 25, 1955

Excuse me if I am being rude but Chizi is the wrong name. It is really Chizuko, she has and older brother named Masahiro or something spelled like that. To find the Correct spelling, Look up Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes By Elenor Corr. :)

at the end of the book in my readin class we read the book we suprised about the end but she didnt die like that she went to sleep woke up everyone was by her and her paper cranes were hanging and she closed her eyes and never woke up again-the end :( she was died like right after my birthday

it said that Sadako and her family go to a memorial park that memories the ones who sufered leukemia and died,just like Sadako.

after she died,nobody fold any paper cranes for her,

and there was a statue of her holding a giant paper crane in the memorial park,

it is the sign of peace in Japan.

that is the story in my textbook(year 5)
