  • this is the most perfect version of this concert :')

  • imagine if some of her strings broke and she kept playing and finished the piece off strong. then she'd really be like paganini.

  • fantastico violin,

  • かわいい!

And her playing sounds amazing too!

  • FANTASTICO

  • oh amazing

  • This girl has the spirit of Paganini.Bravo!

  • OMG! She is amazing *-*

  • what's wrong with 11 ppl? oh... people these days... so hard to please! This IS ART!

  • Why are tenths so sinisterly tough?

  • @mr00aznkid - Probably because her muscles are still young and need to be more developed. It takes years and thousands of hours, but she is good; technically good at least and I liked her very much. It seems the recording - from tape to digital - must have had some imperfections though. Perhaps at the retransmission stage.

  • @argieboyjohn Well I was referring to the notes from the score, not her playing.

  • @argieboyjohn

Well I was saying in general why are they so tough, nothing relating to Akiko.

  • She play just like Paganini at least to my ears from the recordings

  • I am happy that none of these great artists read these negative comments by people that mistakenly stumbled upon this site. I am certain that their respective blogs are ripe with pointless brags about their wars and bloody battles.

  • Anybody that can play a paganini piece like Akiko deserves praise. She'll be a master of the vilolin in her own time. Cheers Akiko refreshing to listen to a new generation of fidlers rising sky high.

  • Are people really judging her performance on lack of facial expressions. This is flawless. Just because she doesn't look orgasmic while performing doesn't take away from the fact that she absolutely nailed it.

  • she is amazing, i want to be able to play the violin like her someday, that is my goal now :)

  • Her performance is perfect!

Has indicating the errors listened to an original tune?

  • There's a big difference between studio recording and live concerts.

especially challenging piece like this one.

  • She's really good, but i agree with henry89it.

I suggest to you all to listen to +Viktoria Mullova's+ recording with the "Academy of Saint-Martin-in-the-fields" from 1989!

I'm shure, that Akiko will reach the same level one day!

  • playyyyyyyyyy

  • hahahah you people talk with such a class.. it makes me laugh XP

    oohhhooh sheee's soo hott

    love her

    quiet delicious

    quieroo escuchar maaasss

  • extraordinary

  • They use to tell that Paganini made a deal with the devil... may be, because nobody normal can make music like this concerto... wonderful and so hard to play... but Akiko did it well!!

    Arigato, Akiko!

  • Obviouvsly ecxellent for a girl of her age; she lacks a bit of maturity and inner feeling of music but it is due mainly to her young age.

  • Amazing !

  • 'sta funcia!

  • exchellent sound!!!!!!!!

  • muiito bom!!!

  • spell bounding.

  • Bellisima prodijiosa ejecucion...

  • Are you really married to her?

  • I get tears in my eyes when i hear music like this.... Super !!

  • glissandos like flowing water

    mm

  • her violin sound is just like a slap in the face

    so gooood :)

  • how perfect she is!

    I love her so much!

  • omg she's great... the tenths just blew me away @_@

  • She's so amazing..

  • genius !!!

  • Very nice playing.

  • I love how the (1 of 5) version has like 500,000 views and this one has 65,769 views, which means people watch the first one and not the rest...lol

  • Gozaburo1

Yes I know exactly what you mean!

  • lol

    yeaah!

but i prefer this second part, i think is better than the other one! hehe

i love the way she play!

i want to listen to she "at live"

  • carl0zraul

Yes I too love her playing. So much power and expression. She just makes you want to listen! I think too that this is the best Paganini concerto. I would love to see her live too.

  • Yeah, after watching the 1st 1 I couldn't NOT watch the rest. It's one of those violin solos that you watch and just sit there giggling at the impossibility of what you're seeing!

  • LOL i was thinking of exactly the same thing ^_^

  • where can i download??? damned T.T i'm crying... so emo

  • "qu est ce que tu veux ecouter apres ça ??

  • que escutarás depois disto?

what do u'll hear after this?

  • she doesnt lok lik shes havin fun in it lik shes not intrested!

  • I think it's more like she's just in REALLY deep concentration.

  • After all, it was the Tchaikovsky Competition. :)

Paganini Concerto No1 is the most lively concerto I have ever heard from Paganini. Thanks for posting this!

  • idiot

  • I love the control she exerted over those chords. The volume and vibrancy as she suspends them and then the release! Love it.

  • Oh yeah, actually from, 3-5 minute mark.

    <33

  • my favorite part in this part is from around the 3 minute to 4 minute mark.

    <33

Very dramatic and sounds pretty damn cool.

  • yea...im playing this now and it's more fun than challenging...except the tenths

  • I'm not certain what "facial expressions" people have referred to as being objectionable (not that it would matter) all I have seen are the soulful eyes of a beautiful little girl putting some heart felt expression into her playing. It was said of Paganini that where there is great talent there is also great envy and along with that comes unwarranted critisism. I believe this to be true.

  • how old this video? fantastic!

  • paradise sound...

  • Wanderful performance of great musical talent!

  • what are you smoking?

  • He was OBVIOUSLY being sarcastic!

  • It's true.. I couldn't dream of playing this in like 1000 years. Paganini is a crazy bastard.

  • Now that is a pure talent, period.

  • I haven't heard Kavakos--BUT I love everything I hear him do, and to her credit, she wasn't even an international star yet. As far as I know this was her big break, so the high level of musical maturity was probably less then than it is now for her.

As for the dress.... hey, this was the 90's it was trying to find it's way out of the 80's clothing.... ;)

  • Breathtaking :O

  • Outstanding! Her harmonics are flawless! I can only dream to play this well. Bravo! She deserved it, hands down.

  • Akiko, subrashii! Sugoi!! Splendid indeed!!!

A true artistc genius. Mahalo and Aloha!

  • She is as beautiful as the music she plays, she is amazing, I could love her just for her talent.

I hope to play like that in some more years...

  • Wow. It's almost like the violin is part of her.

  • çok çok güzel.Zevkle dinledim...

  • Don't you just love how she holds on to that final note before the rest of the orchestra comes in?

  • So beautiful, both the violinist and her performance...

  • I am falling in love with this young lady's playing and talent....So great and wonderful!!!

  • fantastico!

    perfect! ^-^

  • the quality hurts

  • So good...

  • she's not bad. SHE'S REALLY GOOD! she won the tchaikovsky competition.

she is a youngster ... a youngster who was the youngest person ever to win this competition. I TOTALLY LOVE HER PLAYING. she has a mature musical spirit inside of her.

  • So good to hear!

  • how many years has she been playing the violin?I just need to know.

She inspired me to play the violin even though i played seven other instruments in band including the flute and clarinet.

  • What a violinist!

  • dear lord...♥

  • it's the color of the notes that matters. facial expressions are simply an aid for finding (or a reflection of) the mood of the piece, not a representation or deliberate presentation. plus i think it's her composure that helped her to win this competition.

  • Her expressions do not matter. Close your eyes and you will hear the musicality. You don't need flashy performance like Maxim Vengerov to play music. If you close your eyes, Suwanai is technically cleaner and plays with gorgeous musicality. Don't be fooled by the visual appearance.

  • Agree. Don't need all those facial contortionss to bring the music across..

  • To hell with you, do you even play any instrument?

haven't you see? every musician has a different xpression when playing, and you should know, violin takes you even more with emotions as you play.

I totally admire her, she is far much better than many old people who play violin,

  • she's sooooooooOOoooOoooooO HOT. Just hope that she's 18 year younger *sigh*

  • What's up with your comments on akkikos hotness?

  • because it's true. try convincing me otherwise.

  • O i see... not need to be jealous now

  • We have another talented violinist, Sayaka Shoji, who is in younger generation. I hope you'll like her, too.

  • she is so good and great!!!

    i admire her a lot

  • Thank you for posting this.
