i know i know about Memphis May Fire :-) man what an album! best album title of the year, best video too, The Sinner! and honest lyrics through out the album! some hammering mountain shifting power to their breakdowns! Vocalist has worked with Fit For a King too! I'm talking about very influential Christian guys!
@abriefsilence It is easily my album of the year, it is metalcore played tighter and with better lyrics than 90% of the band in the genre. Check it out and let me know what you think. Ps its all on Spotify
@ReviewersofShadow I checked out their myspace page.. pretty sick! the vocals remind me of someone but I can't think of who it is.. i'm definitely getting it =p
i totally agree with those ratings and i thought memphis may fire is slightly like we came as romans with better vocals mixed with the word alive and they are definately underated
@xGoliathOnlinex yea I'm still looking forward to hearing some more of Kensrue's solo work though. Somehow when he puts that music together I almost brainwash myself into believing I like folk music 0_0
@abriefsilence true.. ya should do some lessons based on some of their old stuff.. probably deadbolt being one of their more crazier songs. do you also have any suggestions to any bands that are in a Thrice-type style that would be worth checking out? (i have to say that i think Dustins screaming is hands down the best- in my opinion of course)
I happen to think that Digital Veil's style was helping to fit Travis's voice and also, to show how Aj Minnette has matured as a guitarist! It seems as if he put more thought into the sounds and patterns of his playing, rather than giving you a punch in the face, technicality talent bruise. I LOVED Nocturne, and for awhile I was unable to enjoy Digital Veil, but the album grew on me and is now my favorite. Travis grew on me. Aj's style grew on me. I just wish I could hear another album. RIP THA.
@TheMisterGalaxy unfortunately I couldn't go in depth in the video since I was trying to keep each album under 30 sec.. but I agree, DV took a little while to grow on me because it was so different from previous material. although Ells had a better range, he went too far pushing his style in midhaven, which I consider to be a disaster (the reggae comment =p)
in any case, AJ composed most of nocturne himself, and it really shows. I dont think it can be topped, but DV came close in its uniqueness
@abriefsilence Yeah, Midheaven wasn't the best of albums (Simply because it didn't have AJ writing). It was, however, the first THA album I listened to, and started my journey with their music. I loved songs like Breathing Life Into Devices and really enjoyed Nathan's voice. It was a good album... if you've never listened to the other 2.
Digital Veil was one of my favorite albums of the year. A few problems, Reggae? WHAT? Nathan Ells had a fantastic range and singing voice. His range was far better than Travis Richter of Digital Veil. Travis's clean vocals struck me as flat, despite it fitting the robotic style of the music! Also, I also noticed that it didn't have that same guitar feel that Nocturne had. Nocturne had a really sproradic and intense style while, Digital Veil was more controlled and classically written. 1/2
Definitely agree with you on Memphis May Fire! "The Hollow" was such an excellent album.

I am happy to see that there are people who have a passion for underground. I disagree with your list but love the fact that you made one.
