It may be worth mentioning that this is the only Porsche 961, a fearsome 680bhp on-road racing version of the 959 supercar (as opposed to the off-road version that won the Paris-Dakar). It has since been restored by Porsche and was at Goodwood this year. I was 4 feet away from that exact car! Mint condition!

Pay very close attention.....he went from 6th to 2nd. Listen to the engine spool....he caught it - but not before the rear tires locked. NFW "something seized in the tranny" Sorry gang...that doesn't happen in that particular gearbox.

Not at all crass, let alone monementally. There really is no excuse for bad marshalling, regardless of whether their time is voluntary or not. The drivers put their lives in the hands of the marshalls and Kees Nierop owes these marshalls no thanks whatsoever as they were of no assistance to him exiting the burning vehicle.

I remember this from one of my Havoc videos, number 6 i think. Every one of those marshalls should be ashamed. Good job he was able to walk from the car himself.

What a monumentally crass comment. The marshals give their time voluntarily. What have they to be ashamed of in this instance? Kees Nierop is alive today perhaps because of their actions.
