Englebert was wonderful on this, loved it. Alas, my decision on this song goes to Tom Jones. As to Elvis ... I have not heard his version. I didn't care for his style in his younger years , however he has matured into one of the most powerful voices in the business. He projects a deep, rich and powerful voice quality that most times is just stunning feel good music.

I read a comment by Mr Lachie bellow, about Elvis Presley does this song better so to speak, I did listen to that song by Elvis and with all do respect Elvis was great but Engelbert has a much deeper and much more power in voice quality in the way he sang this song,

I've never been an Engelbert fan, but he has the most haunting and beautiful arrangement of Silent Night I've ever heard. I discovered it a few years ago and it is one of my favorite songs that I have to hear every Christmas. He puts his whole voice into the song and it's a masterpiece. Engelbert is the better singer over Elvis and Tom Jones. He has better voice control. Tom Jones actually just screams his songs. As he got older, that's when Tom started singing better. As for Elvis, he is good the way he sings. He tries to put too much style on his song because he cannot actually sing the way Engelbert does. Elvis a note very long so he breaks them by adding his own "style" to it.
