  • Yes you are free to love anybody but DONT get married to another male just like you,is DISGUSTING

  • aww... what a precious commercial. really makes you feel like there is a such thing as love in this country.

  • OCT 18th!!!!!! thats my bday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This shows that here in America there are other types of families made up of good people and I don't understand why people feel it's their job to go out of their way to prevent them from living their life.

    It's sad.

  • This is just what we need; for viewers to see real couples and families. They need to see the people they're harming with their hateful anti-gay legislation. They need to know that they're not "protecting" anything or anybody with things like Proposition 8--they're only causing pain and lasting damage.

  • when the boy looks into the camera, there is something very magical about his eyes

  • One of my friends in college was the first child to legally be adopted by a lesbian couple in California.

If you knew him, you wouldn't want to use him in happy TV ads...

  • What was his problem?

  • What an opportunistic comment.

Even if it is true, children with gay parents don't live in a bubble. They are subject to to all societal pressures, just as children with straight parents are.

Plus, you must be 100 years old. Gay people have been adopting children for decades now.

    Don't be so transparent.

  • Shaka, what was wrong with him? All the studies say that children of gay parents are indistinguishable from children of straight parents. There are tons of adults who have grown up in LGBT families. I have two gay dads, and I think my brothers and I turned out perfectly fine. We're normal adults with normal lives and normal jobs. No one's perfect, but none of the people I know who have gay parents are all that different from people who have straight parents, certainly not in a bad way.

  • Conservatives seem to be concerned about the well-being of children. If that's true then they should whole-heatedly support marriage equality!

  • Although most likely, they're using children as a tool or a scapegoat to spread their own hatred.

  • Yeah, the arguments against marriage equality are pretty weak unless you inject a little irrational fear into them!

  • Being Republican literally means you are only conserned about yourself and your family and you step on everyone else.

  • I think that's what both parties are associated with now a'days, wait scratch that, The people from the parties. The issues are overshadowed by the need to be the leading political party so instead of helping the community many people are helping their party so that they may be right and the other may be wrong. Plus many people will only vote for one political party their whole life just because the dont want the other party to be in power therefore the voters don't look at the issues @ hand.

  • Finally, an ad that makes it clear that this is about gay people who love each other and can't be allowed to marry. We need more ads like this; we need to put real gay and lesbian faces, our faces, out there.

Michael & Xavier, best of luck to you and your family!

  • I really liked it -- felt very positive -- I wish the kids had spoken, my favorite ad was when this young girl talked about love and how her parents love each other. I found that one the most moving

  • Sweet ad. However, I think our ads need to be MUCH MORE AGGRESSIVE! For instance, I think we need to show the straight world how denying us our equal rights actually HURTS us: our children are beat up on the playground, we're banned from our partner's hospital room, we commit suicide and we are directly beat up, raped and murdered! I think funny ads would also be more effective - like "The Gaythering Storm", "Tradition" and Stephen Colbert's ad.

  • That would never work. Aggressiveness spreads more aggressiveness and violence. I support any deep ads, any strong ads, and any comedic ads. But I don't like the idea of aggressiveness. Just my opinion.

  • You are misinterpreting drjennijams use of the word aggressive. They are not talking about aggressive in the sense of anger, hostility, or violence, but aggressive in the sense of being more blatant and forward in the harm caused by denying marriage equality to gay couples. Harm not only to the couple and any children they may have, but also to society and the institution of marriage.

  • Wonderful!! I wish that more gay and lesbian couples would raise children. The fact that you are raising 5 is really awesome!

  • Good Message. Best wishes from Canada where we have equal marriage and so should you.

  • You have a very nice family!! Equality will be ours again!

  • sweet :) What a cute family!

  • This is what society NEEDS to see: real people, real relationships, real love, real stories, real horrifyingly unjust consequences with hostile, homophobic and un-American ballot initiatives.

  • aww.

  • Well done. I like seeing real people and real families in these ads.
