Some of you know nothing of the Lost Weekend. John himself said it was one of the happiest times in his life (to one of his friends). Even Julian, his own son, said that he and his father got along a ton better during those days. Yoko had a terrible influence on John. He became suddenly cold and humorless, so unlike the guy who Cynthia had met and fallen in love with. Think of this, John was going to visit Paul and possibly write with him when he was with May. But then he went back to Saint Ono.
@thegirlwhohatesrap Ono was very very controlling, and I HAVE read that Cyn was surprised at how much John had changed after Yoko. I like to think that if Cyn and John waited a few years to have Julian (maybe if they stayed together after Beatlemania ended) they would've stayed together. If you look at early pictures of them, they were very much happy-looking. Though, emotions of people i've never met are hard to decipher from photographs.

this is my theory: I think May Pang didnt feel like the time she was with john was a waste of time, but for our dear john.. he didnt loved her as much as he loved yoko, an after Sean and everything he really became a good father after all. May is sweet and nice, she reunited john and julian, but yoko made john a responsable father, and they really loved each other, enormously.
I don't know how either Yoko or May was as people, but as for looks? May was HOT. If John opted for her, there most likely would've been a Beatles reunion. Who knows...but May was a babe.
May Pang is a terrific woman with a beautiful soul. ( yes I have met her) If John had not been so very deeply John emotionally and psychologically attached to Yoko, he could have been very happy with May.
Love My Pang. Not only was she a beautiful exotic young woman but I think she was a genuine giving person who didnt get a hole lot out the Lennon relationship, while he was living anyway. She was the best thing for him. He started to see his old friends that he was forbidden with Yoko Ono and saw Julian and may have re-established some friendship with Cynthia too. She liked May as well. Unfortunate that he went back to Ono. I guess it was inevitable he would return to what he so dependent on

I don't believe that he loved May Pang. I think he liked her and enjoyed all the warm things she was able to give to him... He used the words like "i love you" to many girls... People that knew him said that he was thinking about all his past girls and was still jealous for them... He seemed to collect girls... There certainly is a disconnect regarding Johns self described "Lost weekend". May Pang says John was very happy. The legend, the myth was John was in hell. They left LA and went back to NY to work on an album and he was still living with May and looking for a house in the Hamptons. Oh what could have been!
May was a nice looking lady and seemed to care about John. I think she was a positive influence in his life and even his career at that time. However, the chemistry between John and May is just NOT there. When I see these two, I get more of a friends vibe from them. John and Yoko on the other hand had undeniable love,passion and chemistry. I think John loved May but was not in love with her, at least not the way he was in love with Yoko. I just dont see the chemistry with May.
@Elenor8808 well if you mean "betrayed" (betraded??), then no he didn't betray Yoko since she was the one that set them both up, it was her idea. As for Cynthia, yeah John betrayed her with a lot of women at the height of beatlmania--he never should have committed to a monogamus relationship at that time but maybe he didn't know just how huge the Beatles were going to be.
@unfortunatebeam John cheated on Cyn when The Beatles weren't even famous..like in Hamburg for instance...he wasn't famous at first all you got to do is play in a band and women in the clubs and dance halls are throwing themselves at you... but yeah at the Height of BeatleMaia i'm sure John's infedlity was more frequent..
