This is a really good ballad with a good message, it should've gotten way more credit.
Ironically, the same way Fogerty felt about the innocence of growing up in the 50s-1963 being shattered later by JFK's assassination and Vietnam is exactly how I feel about the cool stuff from the 80s (and to a lesser extent the 90s) I grew up with. I feel like that went away in 2001 with Bush, Iraq War and now shit pop culture like autotune and reality tv.
What a rare treat, most old school ccr fans never followed the career of Fogerty after he went solo, the only problem I have the song does what it is supposed to do and can bring me down becuase it hits home with me.
@toogawnjawn I used this song to teach my Grandson history, what it was like growin up in the '50's and '60's. My fav Foggerty, and it kinda makes me smile.
i love history......Tianamen square, "Mr Gorbachoff, tear down this wall", 911, besides what Fogerty sings about, these are all things i've witnessed on TV ....... and now... Egypt. for someone who loves history, the age of instant information from anywhere on the globe, is AWESOME.

@revjim13 Yeah, someone needs to cover this song, changing the lyrics to reflect more modern times.. Reagan, the show "Dallas", the fall of the Berlin Wall, Nirvana, 9/11, and Iraq..
i love history...... and right now we have a chance to watch history unfold in our livingrooms. tianamen square, "Mr Gorbachoff, tear down this wall", 911, besides what Fogerty sings about, these are all things i saw on TV ....... and now TV brings you Egypt. for someone who loves history, the age of instant information from anywhere on the globe, is AWESOME.
Seriously love this song eh...I remember my mum playing this song on the guitar at parties and thinking..."a neck had ears??" LOL.. I love these songs they have truly made their mark in music history as forever CLASSICS.
Although I wasn't even born in the time when he wrote this, it's always been one of my favorite songs. Soo powerful... grew up listening this. Too bad this art doesn't do it justice.
amazing song, im not one for anime but the way you put this video together is sooooo funny i cant watch it without laughin my ass off. thanks for posting it
I think it would be better if it was just the lyrics, but whatever. This song is really awesome. I never really understood it untill we started learning about post WWII America. Before that, the only parts I recognized were "four guys from england" and the ending that sounds like Who'll Stop The Rain
@murfy63 Me! One of the disillusioned children of the greatest Generation We are still here hiding like a wee mousie in the corners but we are still here. PEACE
One more thought alpha. I remember my dad encouraging me to watch the first moon landing. "This is history being made" he said. He was right. Thanks dad, and thank you alpha.
P.S. do you have any other stuff out there I should check out?
I'd just like to let you know that you did a great job on your video. I'm an old fogie now (apparently) pushing 50. Laugh all you want... but I was young once. To all the detractors, measure your words, you may have to eat them someday.
You coupled a ( for me ) a heartfelt song with what I consider a heartfelt animation. This couldn't have been easy even if it was thoughtless junk video, but I know it wasn't.
I'm just happy someone put this song on youtube. I don't really care for anime yet it's somehow related because anime is just another tv distraction from the horror that is reality.
This, or "Rock and Roll Girls."
Just a straight-up, stone-cold KICK-ASS CCRish folksy LP
Thank you God, for John Fogerty — even if the SOB is a frick'n LSU Tiger fan.
Born on the Bayou, baby.

IMHO easily the best song on the "Centerfield" LP.
A history lesson in less than five minutes by the great Mr. Fogerty.
God bless him.

You need to read the prophecies of Linda Newkirk at prophecies org
100's of messages about the Antichrist, the Two Witnesses, the Manchild of Rev 12, and the false rapture/alien invasion.
Preachers and televangelists will promote the invasion as the return of Jesus , as wars and chaos break out.
The false prophets in the churches will soon be performing counterfeit miracles, Satan will take over those who go therein!
Jesus is not in the churches, get out of them before it is too late!
