Wise King Solomon was a black man. That is a fact and yet he is often assumed to be white and is portrayed in this film as a white man. He was black and he was wise. Not that the color of his skin should make an ounce of difference, but certainly there are actors of color that would have contributed to a more accurate representation historical fact.

Good....yet, I have one prevailing annoyance. Solomon is said to have been very beautiful in appearance. This Solomon in the movie is hideous. He presence is ghastly, and quite distracting from the story. The man who played Adonijah was very attractive...more physically suited to the role of Solomon.

when samuel went to discover king david for the first time, he didn't believe that who he saw would be fit for a king. the L-rd replied by telling the prophet samuel that the L-rd doesn't see people in the same way that we see people. in other words, someone's right to be King over israel is based on more than their appearance

You are correct, however that was because David was the youngest of Jesse's sons, a "ruddy" boy at the time of being anointed, not yet in his manhood and as physically strong as his elder brothers. Regarding attractiveness, the account says David had beautiful eyes and was attractive in appearance. But it was Solomon that I called ghastly. Remember, the entire family was known to be both strong and attractive, yet the character who played Solomon in this movie looks ill. I still think so :)

no. we don't believe jesus was king because he failed to fulfill the messianic criteria. what the messiah ben david looks like is never mentioned in the hebrew bible.

we leave out the O because we do not want to risk taking G-Ds name in vein. in prayer we say it fully but when we talk normally, we skip it so that we dont make an accidental sin

In Muslim countries, Solomon is Sulaiman, sometimes also spelled Sulayman or Suleyman. May your little Solomon be as noble as David's son. Anyway, in Malaysia David is Daud.
