Last time I check, tournaments are held for winners. I understand everything you're saying and I do 100% agree with you. But the prize money is what these guys are aiming for. They will do everything in their power to achieve it. If this was a Tournament Showcase, then maybe. Just maybe would we see low-tiers. But the fact still stands that they're playing for money, not to see who can use the low-tier characters and win.

at pro level if a gief player gets into close range you have no chance of winning. All of giefs moves are desinged to close distance, the best stradegy to defeat him at pro level is to keep him away. The only way to stop a gief player at this level of comptetion is using your projectiles. Spammage is a word only used by noobs.

You do that. That way you'll learn that it's actually more difficult that it appears as the proper timing and positioning is different in every match-up, and eventually I'm sure you'll get it right. Then you'll be "zoning" rather than "spamming" and you will be a better player for it.
