  • This is an interesting watch, but it would have been more informative had you left out the music and had vocal instructions about some of the more important parts, like what you mixed up to make the pieces with, how long it had to sit to hardend, what you glued the tiles to, etc.

  • @DarkDekieon Well, this was the very first video I did many moons ago (on a whim actually). Hopefully, the others are showing a rise in quality as I learn new editing tricks. And we're doing a new casting series on our weekly blog that shows every step in great detail with many supporting links. Thank you for watching. Happy gaming.

  • where i can get the molds

  • @Chlarizthe1 Easy. Just head on over to Bruce's website. I can't put links directly in replies so forgive this spelling...HirstArts[dot]com

  • felt like was on food wishes video then

  • @BrokenSplinter Sorry - that last reply is a toughy to comprehend. Think you left out a word or two.

  • @bensrpgpile2 Theres a video channel on Youtube called Foodwishes

  • @BrokenSplinter ah:)

  • Dude, that music is amazing! What's it?

  • @MrrLuckyLuke Those are tracks from Apple's iMovie application. Who doesn't love a good piano? :)

  • Hello.

What is a white base with all sides of three inches that appear at about three minutes of this animation? Is it a rubber mat or something? What commodity is it?Please teach details.

  • @ookage1972 Hello - that's Elmer's White Foam Board (20" x 30" x 3/18"). I use it to base the Hirst Arts pieces. It warps the least (in my opinion), is reasonably priced and is easy to cut. You can get it online, at Wal-mart, or Staples.

  • @bensrpgpile2

    Hello.

Thank you for a kind answer.

    It became reference very much.

    Thanks!!

  • great color choice for the stone! what colors did you use?

  • @NerdFury I love the GamesWorkshop paints. So, for the floors, I just primed it black and then did a nice drybrush of Graceyard Earth.

  • @NerdFury Sorry - that was the floor color I gave you. For the stone, I primed it black, then dry brush with GW Codex Gray, next a lighter dry brush of GW Fortress Gray, and then a really light dry brush or P3 Menoth White.

  • very cool. I am going to order some basic floor molds.

  • I would use house paint...more bang for the buck over GW paints.

  • @Herfer House paint totally works (that's what I did my very first cavern set with). I enjoy using the GW paints though - mostly because they work so well with dry brushing effects. If you can get the paint combos right - any paint is good paint:)

  • where do you get the molds? ._.

  • @mr1Duffy Hirst Arts is the maker of the molds. They'll pop right up on a google search.

  • Bensrpgpile2 is my hero. Good video bud.

  • @Nosferatu1208 Thanks, bro:) I'm not able to leap tall buildings in a single bound but I'm practicing:) I think we may have to make another one of these kinda videos soon. Maybe we'll do narrowed hallways next.

  • haha good job i would laugh if some one mistaken those as cookies X-)

  • @Gorillaz84444 Heh - those cookies would taste dark and damp...just like a dungeon.

  • thanks for the tutorial <3

  • you guys do need to explain 1 by 1 what you doing or what it is. or where to buy materials.

  • @edvill82 Our video was meant to just be a nice terrain appetizer of sorts. Detailed instructions with more video and pics can be found on the Hirst Arts website under the Building Instructions page. Give that a try. And the forum gang (of which I participate) will always answer your questions quickly.

  • @bensrpgpile2 thanks for the quick reply. i'll check it out. r u guys also selling terrains?

  • @edvill82 We don't sell a ton of terrain at the moment. Best to check out sites like War Torn Worlds and Miniature Building Authority.

  • I have to say that's awesome. My group has been all about me buying dwarven forge tiles, which I'm entirely too cheap to, but now I have to come back and tell them I'll make my own. :D

  • @shidobu We find that these tiles complement Dwarven Forge rather nicely.

  • What's up with the Mr. Rogers music?

  • @Sintwar Heh - no good? It's just a track from iMovie. That's what we use to put together all our vids.

  • Thanks for the step-by-step. A word of advice: transpose captions over the vid so that we know what each ingredient and tool you're using is. PS where did you get the tile forms?

  • @tjthibeau Indeed. We plan on doing captions. We're just getting ready for a big Phoenix Comicon show but they are forthcoming.

  • It's not "wallah"... it's "voila"! It's a french word...

  • @Toxicrafa I pondered using the tried and true Voila on the end frame but Wallah seemed to a little more zest:)

  • @Toxicrafa

Oh good. I didn't have to make this comment.

  • thanks, but where is Hirts Arts?............

  • Try googling for Hirst arts, and not hirts arts. Only available through the website, afaik.

  • Great D&D videos. How do you add the details to the tiles?

And where can I buy the mold for the tiles?

  • Thanks - the molds themselves really provide excellent detail. The key to making that detail pop is a good dry brushing paint plan. You can purchase the molds at Hirts Arts.

  • cool vid

  • my only tip would be to position the camera to your left side, as you seem to be right-handed, and your right hand often blocks what the view of what you're doing.

  • That is an excellent point. Thank you as it's something you don't realize unless someone else points it out (especially since I'm a righty). Thanks again.

  • very well done sir! if i only i wasnt so lazy i would do that

  • Thanks for the kind words. I use it as a stress relief. For some reason everything seems safe, calm and right in the world when I'm doing some Dungeons and Dragons terrain:)
