Yea your right they did, are yall sure that GSP wouldnt take silva down and beat him like he does everyone else? he trains with bigger dudes all the time(rashad etc) maybe anderson silva could KO him on the way in but if he doesnt, i see GSP havin a good chance. keep those videos coming peeace
i agree with you! good video. although if you watch the fight again yea they were greasin GSPs back, and yes penn was trying to work his high guard to keep GSP from posturing up and his legs SLID down very easy..it wouldnt have changed the fight but still you shouldnt do that, shame on his corner not gsp
the Vaseline incident was completely unintentional, I just read in a interview with GSP's trainer Greg Jackson, and he says that it was a one of GSP's rituals, where you rub the back and tap the chest, but the the corner man that did it forgot that he had some Vaseline left on his fingers, Randy Couture is known to do this ritual as well, and before GSP's fight he is seen doing the ritual, so it all makes sense.
i knew gsp vs penn was going to turn out like that. thats why i was never hyped, or cared for the fight. gsp was just to big, and strong.
gsp better stay at ww, cuz silva would kill him at 185
dont blame clay for how the fight turned out, he is a grappler, fighting someone with better bjj than him. how else was he going to get the win? it was just a bad style match up for him.
Dude, you got the 1/2 of kid and play look goin!

Yea, I don't think it had any effect on the fight.

I agree about the stoppage. If it had gone into the fifth BJ would have got destroyed!
MMAFIX 3 years ago
I was glad his corner stopped because B.J. has too much pride to tap on his own.

Machida deserves a title shot but Dana doesn't want him to be a champion, he wants him to be his personal assassin.
Seriously, Dana is using him:
Dana wanted to fire Hoger - fed him to Machida.
Dana wanted to fire Heath - fed him to Machida.
Dana wanted to fire Nakamura - fed him to Machida.
Dana wanted to fire Sokodjou - fed him to Machida.
Dana wanted Tito to lose his last fight - fed him to Machida.
Dana wanted less successful Brazilians at LHW - fed Thiago to Machida.

Never thought about it that way, can't say I agree but it's a theory.

I still was surprised how little offense B.J. was able to mount.
Agree, Silva is too big for GSP.
I hear ya but that was more of a slow dance than a fight imo.
