  • This was very helpful thank you. A very chad smith like groove. Love it

  • your bass drum sounds... i don't know how to say it...like the mighty bassdrum of... death or something xDD

  • @c0d3x001 hahahaha! yes, it definitely has kick!

  • cheers for this video! i've been looking for some bass drum patterns for ages!

  • i have a similar groove with para-para diddle, with the bass covering the right hand, and the ghosts and accents with the left. you should try it out

  • thanks so much man! the one all the way to the right is called "The Meanie" and it's made by Hammeraxe percussion.

  • Lesson*

    :D

  • very good tutorial!

  • Well done sir.

  • Great Lesson. Post More

  • Very good job of teaching instead of just "showing". I've been incorporating paradiddles into beats and fills and such whenever possible for a little while now, although now I want to try that particular one you did. To me, the paradiddle is the most condusive rudiment to funk. Thanks for posting, keep 'em coming!

  • this is cool, theres so much you can do with the paradiddle. Im all into my jazz and using slight veriations of it in solos or just as your comping it can open up so so much. not being critical but your snare looks alittle low for you, like if you go for a rim shot with your left you might find yourself cracking your leg instead of the drum... just a thought. nice one man keep it going.

  • Yo nice lesson. like the shirt btw.

  • NICE FEEL

  • Great job breaking it down simplistically. Shows how rudimental snare chops can be spread around the whole kit, and incorporated into grooves etc., as well. 5 stars.

  • Awesome lesson! In these videos are your drums purley acoustic or are they mic'd up to some condensors or something??

  • Hey JohnAnthony, thanks so much! The drums are always acoustic in my vids. I might mic them up eventually, but I am all about an organic sound. Thanks again!

  • Nicely done Andrew . I am so sick of this attitude that rudiments , reading , and the like are somehow a hindrance to creativity . It is the exact OPPOSITE . Rudiments and reading are merely tools to get out what a person has inside of them .

  • I like this video. Shows people how good rudiments can sound! Also great video for spreading the idea of thinking out of the box. I think Grade 4 has the basic paradiddle groove on it. Congrats and well done! well worth the wait!

  • amazing, thank you sooooo much=)
