@chinbunny1 Is it cute when you try to save money and plant a couple of plants and then they freaking eat them ALL!!! NO AND BY THE WAY IM NOT EVEN CLOSE TO A REDNECK, but all our neighbors shoot them with airguns or slingshots!!!
@Tux3d0 They are wild animals. They don't know any better. I have no issues with people that humanely remove them by shooting them. But to tell someone sharing a cute video of them, that they should kill them, isn't right. They obviously enjoy them.
@Tux3d0 My sisters fiance shoots them when they get too close to their house. I live in town. We discourage them from coming into the yard. had ony had one or two up here, and if they become a pest I would live trap and remove them, and eithert take them out into the woods, or have my sis's fiance put them down.
I'd mow these buggers down with my 8 gauge Pancor-Jackhammer automatic shotgun. All 30 shells will be lying at my feet by the time I was done. I would then stick the water hose into the nest where the babies are and throw in a m-80 or two for closure.
aww so cute! They are adorable. I think we have them in our back yard too. Saw one today getting hurt across the street by a dog and I scared off the dog, of course the dog almost got hurt by traffic but the owner came out and got his dog. The humane society got the baby who was hurt and took away.
Your groundhogs are cool... I can't get within 30 feet of mine... Great slideshow on your Annapolis trip by the way... Keep puttin' up vids Hamsterluver3 :-)
@bgtech0 thnx :] if u wanna know how to get up rlly close, walk reaaaaallllly slow. try to step on rocks instead of grass cuz they wont make noise if u step on them. but u have to take a step like every 3 seconds so they dont rlly notice u coming up
i have a pet groundhog. hes awesome. hes a boy though, so he loves to bite people. but hes just playing. woodchucks bite thier litter mates when their babys so, yeah, hes still a baby.
mine are starting not to be as scared of us. if i took maybe 3 more steps i would have been able to pet it! we have, as far as we know, 2 or 3 living under our deck. i love my ground hogs. and if anyone wants to know how to get rid of them, you can't. we brought our's all the way up to HIGH POINT (like, 45 minutes away from us by car) and they came back. if you kill them (which i really rather you wouldn't!!) new ones will come and take there place. i have a vid of one standing up like meerkat
it was because you said if you kill them they keep comig back. so i decided to try and make a joke but obviously you didnt get it. i think its a quote from star wars maby but its definatly somthing ive heard before and i thought it suited
My land lord actually planted his garden right a groundhog's hole at the edge of our back yard (not sure if he knows there's a ground hog hole there or not. His garden's been there all summer without any noticeable damage to the plants, and there currently is a mama with several babies living there.
I have a mother this is her second year she had two babies last year and two babies this year but the new duo just left and the mother lives under the woodpile and she is REALLY fat because its almost winter.
We have a mom & 4 kids, babies, pups, whatever they're called, living under our shed. Ours are very wary & dive into the burrow every time they see a human. I feed them apples, which they love, but they haven't warmed up to me yet.
It seems that as long as you stand still and be real quiet they'll just stand there and look at you. However, if you move a muscle they'll disappear real quick...
@geldhundt I have so many creatures that come up out of the woods, to our yard. I have started to film them. I just captured a little ground hog. The very next day was able to film a deer.
Over 5 years I have many generations of groundhogs in yard. They live under the shed. They have only one hole in yard , directly under an apple tree. They actually build a funnel under the tree and the apples fall off and roll down the hole. the apple tree is at least 150 ft from shed, must be a tunnel the entire way to shed. There is a large light tan one that does most of the work on funnel. actually amazing to watch. so far so good. They eat well and don't disturb anything yet
Kill them before they totally RUIN your hard. Nothing like taking a stroll and breaking your ankle in one of their many holes they dig. Worst case scenario, you'll find your building's foundation collapsing because the bastards tunneled underneath it.....it happened to me.......and cost THOUSANDS to repair!!
Yeah there's always the easy way out just shoot them right? They tunnel near foundations to keep warm during hibernation in winter. Modern homes with insulated basements aren't nearly as much of a problem. If your home is that old, and you've let the population of 'hogs get that out of control, maybe you should simply let your shitty house collapse on your face?
Killing them doesn't do anything: new hogs will show up and move right in. Better off relocating them after you fill the holes in.
Hey, ever think they were there first? People always want something removed or killed. Stop taking kland that's not your and you wouldn't have to worry about such things. The person that took this video didn't mind sharing.
give em the bait, it will be a treat, and then BAMMMM BAMM BAMM BAMM BAMM BAMMM BMAMMMBAMBMAMBAMMB A with a RPG -7 right into that pesky groundhogger!!!!! Weak, unintelligent minds say "Spare"
Use fox urine in the holes near the house! That worked for us and our woodchuck "critter" moved out further in the yard. We enjoy critter and watch for him to come out each year! He/she is living a long happy life!

"I don't see any need to hate them because after all they're not trying to be malicious"
I don't care what their state of mind is, damage to my property is still damage.
By your analogy, if you're swimming in the ocean and a shark bites your leg off, don't hate, it was just hungry.
If your neighbor's dog bites your kid in the face, don't hate, the dog was just scared.
If you wake up in the middle of the night with a large spider on your face, don't hate, it just wanted warmth.
