  • lets start xo happy hour

  • WASHINGTON!

  • I was supposed to be on the flight deck that day but I lost my dress shoes! It was heartbreaking not to have been up there.

  • omg thats the ship my dad surved on intel 2006.

  • Now this isnt something you see every day. A full on military parade.

  • too bad us boatswainsmates on aboard the fuckin lincoln log did all the god damn work while everybody got liberty call and got to do all the good shit.

CONGRATS TO THE BOATSWAINSMATES, THE REAL CAPTAINS OF THE FUCKIN BOAT WHO ARE UNDER APPRECIATED!

  • @heat4yoass I do not doubt your hard work, but I do have something to say to you. I was on duty that day in Reactor Department. Just as with any port docking, we were there until late unto the night lining up shore utilities, switching to shore power and shutting down both reactor plants. Hours after securing the maneuvering watch and switching colors to in-port, we finally got to set in-port watch stations. I am sure there were plenty of off duty nukes still there after you went home!!!!!!!

  • HA That was my crew too bad they didnt show the fire truck becasue I was hanging on handing out roses. That was a fine navy day!!

  • @twg6669 8:30 looks like a fire truck o.o

  • @NickLovesPopcorn there were two fire trucks i was on the old school truck the truck at 8:30 was a new fire truck. but hey its all good

  • Was also on board and walked in this parade. 1st things 1st- the banner "Mission Accomplished" was put up and displayed by the Lincoln for the incredible job we did. We were asked to stay away from home port for 10 months and then commence combat operations at the end of it. We did so with no major injuries. It was the longest deployment by a US Naval vessel since the Korean War. As to the parade I was proud to walk among my fellow Americans who welcomed me home -so much different than Vnam!

  • REVOLUTION R E V O L U T I O N
  • I worked Arm Dearm team that cruise. Worked flight schedule on the flight deck day and night every single damn day. RoLaNdAs, ya gotta look at what that cruise taught all of us. No matter how long we were gone. We pushed our limits (unless your an IT) and we never stopped. I am proud to know I was aboard for the length of that whole cruise. To be honest, I would do that one over and over again! Coming home was the best feeling in the world. I can only thank the United States!

  • This was the worst experience of my life. I had the worst Capt. No wonder that ship had so many DUI's

  • @RoLaNDaSFoLK Hey never really found out if this was a legit episode or not. I heard that a girl walked the mess decks butt naked while we were in the Gulf. DId you hear about this?

  • My future ship I'm stationed in Everett on the USS Abraham Lincoln I'm still in A school but I graduate some time in January anyone wanna tell me what its like? or is there anything to do in Washington?

  • @pineapplesponge

Well wester WA is very raint during Fall, and Winter. And by very rainy I mena weeks on end not having a sunny day. But there is a ton to do. Just like any place, Seattle Metro area has some 4.4 Million people

  • WOOT! 10,000 VIEWS!

  • if bush had half a brain he would've planted those WMD's somewhere in Iraq and had our troops "discover them" in early 2003. I'm absolutely amazed that his people didn't make this happen to prove to the world that he was right. after all the trouble they went through to convince everyone that Saddam was a real threat and had to be taken out. at least he would've been vindicated.

  • Maybe, just maybe he does have a brain but is just to honest for such a dastardly act. Also we didn't really go through a lot of trouble to prove he was a threat, it was in fact, common knowledge that Saddam had in the past used WMD's. Though it might not seem like that with all the rewriting of history going on lately.

  • you and my father would get along just great.

  • He must be a very intelligent man.

  • he is. but you're obviously an idiot. yes, Saddam used WMD's on Iran, but guess who sold them to him? Donald Rumsfeld. and no, Bush is not TOO honest, in fact he's quite the opposite. what he is TOO much of is a dolt and a puppet for Cheney and his Corporate Cronies' agenda.

  • No reason to call names (and with 6 months I would hope you could do better than "idiot") Anyway a small amount of the wmds used against Iran may have come from the US. But that was before they were made illegal by the UN, so it is no different than the f-14s that Iran bought from the US. The crux of the wmd issue is that Saddam didn't comply with the UN regulations AFTER they were made illegal. Just like someone who served beer to 18 year olds 30 years ago shouldnt be arrested today.

  • voloverum, The same intell that said where the WMD were should have also informed us to there new location. The problem is Rumsfeld and his cronies assumed, without proper authentication, they sill existed. So they lied to us. Why did they lie? Was 9/11 a happy coincidence or a pretext for an agenda to get read of Saddam? You Tube this, "118 firefighters". The U.S. has been hijacked by idiots.

  • By your backwards logic the same intel that tells us there is an Osama Bin Laden should tell us where he is hiding. You obviously know nothing of intelligence, which is nothing but assumptions and best guesses. There was only one way to verify whether or not there were WMDs at the time and that was for Saddam to comply with UN mandate and prove it, which he never did. Finally if the Gov't was behind 9/11, why didn't they make it look like Iraq did it so they could justify the Iraq war?

  • Yes the WMD's we sold him.

  • that was a looooong ass deployment. nicknamed worstpac 03

  • Official motto of the deployment "Get over it"

  • god I hated that motto, I was there for the while thing as well.

  • Which was worse, "Get over it" or "Commence Happy Hour"?

  • happy hour!!! thats funny i forgot about that!

  • @twg6669

    How could you forget that?!?!?

  • @twg6669 Um sorry but I do have to ask...how in the hell could you forget standing around everyday for one hour with a rag and spray bottle pretending that you are cleaning your AOR??

  • OS2? hi I'm EW1(SW)XXXXX OW/OS Div LPO '03-'04

  • U people crazy

  • Four Years to the day of major combat operations over Bush vetos a send the troops home bill. Wow!

  • Remember the USS LIberty; strafed by our good friends the Israelis in 1967? What's really obscene is how much money the USS Lincoln photo-op cost. They made the ship float around in circles all day so they could get the sun setting behind you-know-who...

  • I don't think it really was that expensive, used up some jet fuel, but carriers go through that stuff like crazy anyway

  • these are not good times to become a soldier.

  • The Dems need to put Impeachment back on the table! Then after they impeach both of them Incarcerate them for lying to the Americans then drain daddy warbucks bank account and give it to the wounded/dead soldiers families.

  • The Neo-cons will be remebered just like the No-Nothing's of the mid-19th century: A bunch of fascist scumbags who tried to destroy our democracy with lies, violence, threats, corruption etc. I say hang them all.

  • The Republican "revolution" is OVER! And not soon enough! The damage they have caused will affect generations of Americans. They are the true scum of the Earth.

  • You are an idiot

  • When was the last time a US aircraft carrier was under threat from an enemy ? They are little more than cruise ships.Flag waving patriotic arseholes.

You lost the Iraq war...Deal with it.

  • Safeway56, warships are under constant threat from small bomb-laden boats. If you don't believe me do some research on the USS Cole. Furthermore, enemy fire is not the only things that claim lives in a war zone. warships can be dangerous places. You may be burned or electrocuted, you may cut yourself on something sharp, bust your head open on a valve above you, get hit by a plane, or fall several decks onto a hard steel deck. All of these events did happen during my four years on a carrier.

  • Every time they deploy.
