I read a study that says that out of all the military's in the world Canadian soldiers are closest in morality and values and ethics to those of their own citizens. @COlbyBRR Go to.the forces website. The BMQ and SQ are pretty much your entire training introduction. After that, you just do Specialist training and just daily routine. You may be waiting a year or so even after you complete your Aptitude, physical and medical. took me 6 months

US never "retreated" in Vietnam. You use your rhetoric and semantics to make it sound like you're right , but you're not. The US military did its job in Vietnam, it successfully prevented the South from being overrun by the North. Only a year after the peace treaty was signed and troops gone did the North break it and invade.

A recruiter at the Montreal recruit center told me to return in February for Artillery -field.3weeksago

However, he did not sound optimistic and said "if their are no places available, return in April when more spots open up".

The CF web site gives us a good idea when spots become available. Look under jobs "in demand". The only problem is that we need to constantly check it and the site may not be updated fast enough b4 jobs are filled.

Till then I will be calling the center periodically.

@EngCwalkz depends some people take out there plates and that just leaves the kevlar and thats still pretty strong but iunno ak's are a beast , and just becuase your vest stops the bullet it can still kill you from the force of impact and it will cause internal injuries and it mostly probally will break your ribs

You're correct that both the regs and reserves are needed. I served in the reserves (years ago) and several of the personnel in our unit were former regs. No question regs are better trained overall, simply because they train every day. The training is fundamentally identical, but the regs simply do more of it.

It is also important to realize that reservists train purely for the joy of it (and that makes for a special kind of soldier).
