I remember when this recording was played on the radio in the Tennessee-Georgia area, long brfore Jr Samples made his Hee Haw stardom. It was really about a hoax put on to try and fool a couple of fish and wildlife guys. At least that's what I've heard. Jr also had another song about the golf game that I haven't heard since about the same time.

Back home, the mid-day meal is called dinner only if it's a full meal, like supper. If it's just soup and sandwich, or somethin else light like that, then it's lunch, not dinner.

Junior was a 6th cousin of mine but I never had the honor of meeting him. My mother worked at the state fish and game commision when Junior brought in a frozen sea ass and tried to say he caught it on Lanier, probably trying to get his record acknowledged.

Got to meet junior twice by happenstance at Tom Mann's Bass World in Eufaula, AL. The last time I met him...he passed away a few months after that. Wonderful man, and he took the time to talk with us for quite a while.

Sounds like home to me! My granduncle Emory was the spittin' image of

Junior. Same overalls, weight, voice and especially the accent. He's been

gone longer than Junior but man do these memories of West Virginia

ever come back fresh hearing this! Thank You!
