  • Hey man, good video. Now that it's been a little while, are you aware of any cameras that have come out that better is as far as photo quality goes? :D

  • @GeoMarinePSN For photo quality I use a cheap Nikon dSLR with an expenisve-ish lense. For travel I still have the lumix super-zoom. And for general backpack duties I have the slim (slightly water-proof) sony point-n-shoot.

For photo qualtiy I still am yet to test any point'n'shoot/super zooms, that can out perform my cheap Nikon for photo quality.

I will be heading back to Japan in summer to try out some new gear (like every year), but am doubtful I'll change any of my current gear.

  • how did you zoom that fast? i have this camera and i cant zoom that fast only slow, btw nice vid i wont lie agree this camera should have had stero mic, i wish there was a way to make one in it?

  • nice video.. are u recording this video in AVCHD??

  • @benthoodss yes. Video taken straight from SD, and uploaded without post-processing. The FZ28 only does high-def in 720p though.

I know panasonic will have updates for all their cameras in a few weeks, so it might be best holding off a little bit (if you planned on buying the fz28).

  • cool video

  • heyy i have this camera too :) its awesome. i'm just wondering if you have tried to film on a concert? if you have, is it good sound? please answer! :) thanks

  • good morning.

Yes I have tried recording a jazz concert.

The sound was ok, a little flat - mainly due to the mono micro-phone in the camera.

The next step up from this camera (the GH1) has a stereo mic, HD recording, as well as changeable lenses, so if santa is really nice to me this year - I`ll hopefully be getting that as well.

The FZ28 - is still the best `travel` camera I`ve used. Light, portable, and full manual controls. I won`t be getting rid of mine anytime soon.

  • i just ordered this camera - i can't wait!! all these videos showing it off has got me so excited i can hardly breathe :)

  • make sure to buy the protective lens to protect your leica lens.

  • hey there. i was wondering if you could help me regarding a protective lens to protect my leica lens for my panasonic fz28?

which one do i get? I'm new to the whole camera thing!

  • buy the DMC-UV 46mm. I got Quantaray brand from japan. you can also look for it in amazon. our local camera stores don't have it but they manage to order it for me. that way the shipping is free. enjoy!

  • thanks alot :)

  • you're all welcome...

  • how do u protect lens

  • I have a 46mm UV lense attachment(screws right on the front). All semi/pro camera shops have these. It is basically just glass - doesn`t affect the picture at all.

I Also have polarizor, and ND 46mm lense attachmets - if shooting on overly bright days (or just fidling with longer exposures).

  • nice

  • Excellent !!
