Nobody else is likely to win 19 series in a row -- that's an all-sports record! He supplemented his puck-stopping with antics like taking dives to draw penalties, fighting, etc. Smith's influence went way beyond the crease, across the blue and red lines and into the locker room.

I'm not saying Smith won, but it's kind of tough to throw down with all that goalie equipment, especially against somebody who is not wearing so much equipment. To illustrate this, check out what Dan Cloutier did when he went after Tommy Salo. Stan Jonathan also routinely took off his jersey so he could flail his arms freely. All things considered, Bily didn't do too badly here: he got in more than a couple of good licks.
