I can't believe how shamelessly the theme from "Midnight Cowboy" is ripped off in this song. Even the tempo of the riff. Wow. "Midnight Cowboy" came out in 1969; this tune came out in 1975.
listenin to this can bring tears to your eyes when you think of the current state nusic is in.......come to think of it, music is not the appropriate term when referencing today's stuff
@ltinsley2 Well, well... It's not that bad. There is a lot of great music today, even though most people don't know it because they'd have to look for it first (and want to look for it more importantly). That being said, yes, most of the music we're being served everyday through the mainstream media kinda sucks, if you ask me.
@MrPsa19 Careful, you shouldn't say things like this. When you say genre x is better than genre y, it is like saying Americans are better than English, or something like that...
I don't thing anyone can really decide what is actually better. It's only a question of what do you LIKE better.
@nohajc I'm sorry, but I did it because I seen people post negative comments like that before alot on other youtube pages but anyway they were way worst than that coment I post. Merry Christmas anyway. An hip hop & rnb arent that bad music but still isnt my favorite. I'm into fusion jazz, classic jazz, rock an techno music too. But I don't hate the other genres but their just NOT some thing I'd listen too all the time, merry x mas
@MrPsa19 There you have it. Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it's "gay", right? I also like this more than most of hip hop and such... But I do know of good hip hop too. I believe you can find talented musicians everywhere.
never made the radio stations in New Orleans but every musician knew who they were. Got to see Stanley, Duke and Cobham at Tulane McAlister Auditorium opening for David Sancious and Tone's debut album, Transformation-The Speed of Love. AWESOME SET BOTH GROUPS.
chick is one of my favorite jazz artists .i saw him live @ the chicago theatre along with herbie hancock .this man can play his ass off.and that's a good thing!(LOL)
Not only have I loved this music since the 1970s, I was blessed to actually know the Corea family, and spent a lot of great times with them. As down to earth folks as you'd ever want to meet.
@n64wilbert I'm afraid I am too young to know that. :) Unlike my father, I didn't spend my youth in the seventies. Actually, I am spending it right now.
I DONT KNOW HOW MANY TIMES I HAD LISTEN TO THIS ALBUM OR THIS SONG BUT EVERY TIME I PLAY IT JUST GOT SO MUCH GOOSPUMPSSSSSSSSSSS LIKE .... I DONT KNOW WHAT TO LISTEN TO THE BASS THE DRUM TH GUITAR THE KEYBORD OR TOGETHER OR HOW??? AMAZING AMAZING !!!! JUST UNREAL IAM NUTS NOW
Anyone ever see what became of that great black and white 1975-ish TV special where RTF were trading 4's 3's 2's and 1's? Amazing!! I think it was HBO maybe.I used to see it on YT but I can't find it anymore.anyone...anyone? : )
The first chords of Chicks Fender-Rhodes ALWAYS bring back that same spine chilling/warm fuzzy adrenaline surge feeling as when I first heard this tune back in 78.
When Prog-Rock died out in the mid-70's, replaced by more middle of the road commerical rock, I went searching for new things to listen to...well guess what? The heavy & progressive music was being performed by jazz-fusion artists, like what you are hearing. I used to crank this up, and amazingly, it can still blow the doors off most boring stuff today...What amazing talent on one record- Clarke, Corea, White & their recent 'discovery', Al Dimeola...
@brainysnaeha Hey man...you dudes from Thailand are loaded with gifted musicians, I have noticed a lot of kickin guitarists from Thailand....keep em coming!
@ThePrinnyGod don't worry, maybe we have musical demention nowadays, but in my opinion that bad flow will pass away in few years. Music scene has to be reset, and reborn to breed new wave of good-old-school-inspired musicians.
It's kinda sad that you dont realise they were immensily popular in the 70's, if anything jazz musicians in the decades before this received significantly less praise for their work
Holy Guacamole, finally someone put this on! Thank you nohajc!
Talk about four monster musicians. My bass player in high school turned me on to these guys back about 1977. We used to play thiis quite often, unfortunately he passed away just three weeks ago. If anyone could post anything off of Chick Corea's "The Leprechan" I would be equally grateful.

Centari 1 year ago
@Centari
Except in thailand i don't see him come here at all and i'm
his fan maybe too late to be a fan of chick corea when he
was 67.
And i'm 17 but i listened to his works since i was 8 but
never knows him until 15.
So fewer people in thailand knows this jazz artist i wanted
him to play at hua-hin jazz festival someday!

My mom was seeing this weed smoking sub teacher in
1977 and I went thru his album collection and found this.
I was ruined in 1976 when I first heard live Hendrix, but this
album sent me in a different direction for guitar. And I'm
lovi'n every minute of it.
