I don`t know all the details but perhaps the dad is trying to do the right thing for his son by taking care of his own son when he sees the mom clearly isn`t in a condition to do so. Maybe he plans on her staying a part of the boy`s life. Dad`s get a bad rap if he lets the mom have custody then he`s the "absent dad" but if he gets custody he`s selfish. I thk they`re both selfish for having a child out of wedlock b/c whether she`s disabled or not she was going to face a custody battle.
Of course, I hope the same too. I wish they`d been more responsible before bringing a child into the world to be pulled to and fro. What do ppl think when they get preg. out of wedlock? These problems always exist & the the prisons are filled w/ppl that grew up in single parent or foster families but the damge is done so I wish them all well. But wking things out will be hard. Both want their boy. The dad needs his job so moving isn`t good. If he moves w/no job, he`ll go to jail for no CS.
I see the victim as the boy not the mom. The parents created this problem themselves before she ever became disabled. Disability isn`t the issue. She`s facing the same thing many single parents face when both parents want custody. Is it selfish for a parent to want to live w/their kid? No. It`s selfish to create a sit. where a child can only live w/one parent. Why can ppl not see this? The US has many social/economic problems b/c the family which is the foundation of a nation is broken.
