  • This guy is smooth. thanks for the very helpful info. Keep'em coming.

  • Great video, one thing to pass on. Be careful not to push the top pipe into the block first, it can go in too far and WILL NOT come back out. The hole is cut on a taper to the back. Trust me< idid it and it sucked, I had to break off the pipe and get another set of tubes. They only cost 4 dollars at auto zone.

  • Hello I have a 2000 impala and the message center is showing. Service Vehicle Soon and Low Coolant level. I took it too the dealership and they ran the diagnostics on it and said the intake gaskets is leaking. How cab I replace this. They are charging me way too much.

  • This is one of the best instrutional videos on Youtube ever!!!! You do a great job of explaining everything without being condisending or rude. You should be a auto tech teacher (if you arn't already)!!!! Great post!

  • very, very good man. very well explain. thumps up .......

  • Cheap, Hardly Efficient, Virtually Runs On Luck Every Time

  • quick question did you just put the thermostat the wrong way?

  • the car looks exactly like mine same color and everything

  • It would be great if you show how to properly install those Coolant Elbows into the Lower intake manifold. I'm about to go give it a shot now, my car has been leaking really bad. I hear a lot of people saying when they pushed it in it didn't set right and still leaks a bit but i can't find a video or pic tutorial anywhere...only text. I'm a visual learner!

  • Just had our check engine light come on this weekend, after getting the code from our dad, it showed a thermo/coolant problem. Car was taking a LONG time heating up, so I figured that it was the thermostat. What really sucks is we just had the car in to the dealer for 2000 bucks of maint.. that included work on the cooling system.. looks like an easy fix for the thermostat.

  • thank you so much took off everything and replaced those parts heater works check engine light went off and seems to be working thank you so much you are the MAN. i really do appreciate it very much thanks.

  • have a question have the same problem but i can see the leak at the bottom of the intake manifold from the side can see the leak after driving it i dont have the money to take it and the it fixed the videos really help but do you have with relpacing the intake manifold gaskets? if so where can i go and look at them to see what all needs to be done with this overheating problems caused me to lose my job being late from it overheating at the time please help thanks.

  • @soonerfreak1973 the leak might be coming from the O-ring seal on the coolant outlet pipe at the lower intake manifold.Try to rent/buy a radiator pressure tester,so u can pressurize the system while engine is cool.Once the system is pressurize, it will be easier to identify the coolant leak. Replace the thermostat with a "FAIL-SAFE"(thermostat).Make sure the cooling fans cycle NO&OFF.Always use 100%(fully concentrated)coolant, not water. Water damages the cooling system by corrosion.

  • @SteveXnycperformance Fully concentrated fluid, no water? That is the very first time I have heard anyone recomend that!

  • @ponch37300 - GM uses DexCool for a lot of vehicles, which is a proprietary coolant liquid; it's not standard antifreeze/coolant. For lack of a better word, it comes "pre-mixed" -- in other words, it's just the right mixture right out of the can.

  • @timothymbess Dexcool comes premixed 50/50 with WATER AND you can also buy it fully concentrate with NO WATER and mix it yourself. All dexcool is NOT premixed, do a search if you need to. I buy dexcool fully concentrated, not mixed and then mix it myself, it is a lot cheaper doing it this way. The comment I was responding to says to use fully concentrated without adding water, this is not recommended by any manufacturer and is not good for the car.

  • @SteveXnycperformance are you still answering questions? I know its been a years since you last answed questions here

  • very good advice, i have an impala 2000 and has a leak, after this video I belive is at that part (plastic)
