Great service. Reassuring to know there are still good firemen in suburbia. Great orders by company officer, excellent hustle. Good hoseline management.
Man, witnessing something like this up close and personal is a very scary thing. this morning i was waken up @ 7:20 by fire trucks blaring down my street, responding to a 2 story vacant apartment building on fire right across the street from me. After they got it out and did the overhaul, a guy came to board up the windows and i had to call them back bc i noticed light smoke coming from the roof. The wierd thing is that exactly 2 months ago, the house right next door to it caught on fire too.
(continued from last comment) With both fires, Our fire department knocked it out in a matter of minutes before it had a chance to become well involved (except for the small hot spot that somehow skipped the 2nd floor & made it to the inside of the roof & had to call them back again) The fire 2 months ago was on the 2nd floor & they got it before it had a chance to flash over, but 2 months later and theyre still fixing the damage. Even a small fire like these 2 can still be really destructive.
Volunteer or paid, doesn't matter. That was the best hustle, and initial attack I've ever seen on video. Communication was superb, forthought on equipment placing, hydrant location established, just about perfect! Great job to this obviously well trained department!
whats this americans actually have a fire service? im surprised they dont just let the house burn the same way they let people with no cash die when they need to go to hospital.
@georgejacktheripper I agree with you on the hospital thing, but some fire departments, my area in particular, do great jobs at knocking the fire out. I have seen some videos on here where the firemen arent doing anything usefull, just walking around and dont start attacking the fire until it has spread to other parts of the house causing more damage than necessary. luckily my cities fire dept doesnt waste anytime as it was proven twice already. Nice username by the way.
Approx. 90 seconds from when the apparatus stopped at the scene to water on the fire! FAN-FREAKIN'-TASTIC!!!!! These guys know their stuff!!! One of the best knock-downs I've seen in a long, long time!
@jafrommeyer like when you've been at work to long..... you know? Kidding, for the engineer(usually) will be pulling the supply line from the engine to the hydrant.
What a textbook fire scene! great work! Every firefighter on scene had PPE, and knew his, or her role! Backup/safety line stretched, and escape ladders to the second floor very quickly, and a great knockdown! Very well trained and disciplined Fire dept. Awesome job!! Adding to favorites!
Guys did throw ladders, multiple ladders at 5 minutes and 6 minutes. EMS guys don't throw ladders because they arn't in full PPE and Chauffeurs don't throw ladders because their job is securing a water supply and staying at the pump adjusting pressures as needed and monitoring for any problems that could cause a loss of water to the attack crew.
One of the best fire attacks I've seen yet posted on youtube.
Just a question. I know it's easier said then done, how come the chauffeur or ems personal couldnt throw a ladder to the fire room? God for bid the shit hit the fan on the guys and they needed to bail? otherwise great job!
Just a question. I know it's easier said then done, how come the chauffeur or ems personal couldnt throw a ladder to the fire room? God for bid the shit hit the fan on the guys and they needed to bail?
That was a top job, no panic, no carry on, fast layout, fast knockdown, building was laddered by the next in rig, can't see any real issues there, good on ya.
On the roof, why did one FF not have full PPE? Is there anyone on the ground side Charlie? When that FF on the roof crossed the ridge to the backside, he could have fallen and no one would know.
At one point, a lone FF came back out the front door. How many were in? Four total I think. Should he have not come out w/ a buddy? 2-in 2-out?
The supply line is charged right on top of the handline. Does this pose a possible problem w/ pressure on the handline?
Great job guys, nice, quick knockdown! Also, nice safe response...you have a fire but aren't crazy. Just one thing of note. I am ALL for hustle I HATE guys that meander at the scene. But I get nervous when I see guys running when laying a line. Not saying this is the case here, but I just worry about the potential for the line to get snagged around something (tree) and getting jammed. In that case you have a FF running full speed, getting forcefully stopped and falling...not just normal tripping
To answer your question on why we do not mask up on the truck at this fire.... It limits size up vision and communication between the crew prior to making entry. With a little training you can mask up in 30 seconds at the door.
mask up before exiting apparatus? You're kidding right? Anyways, before I went through the replys to this video I was thinking the exact same thing; nice work. Good hustle, not balls-out frantic, but hustle, as it should be. Nice stretch, looks like a nice aggressive hit. Good ladder work, positioning. NICE.
Great vid quality, lets see more. Super job on the fire. If this was my house you would be back, not for a rekindle but for steaks on the grill. Outstanding work.
not criticizing or anything, but why dont yall have your masks on when yall step outta the truck? that way all you gotta do when you get to the front door is click in? just curious
@lvfd1078 My crew in my department masks at the door. Haveing your mask on in the truck hinders communication between the crew. It limits what you can see during size up and set up for attack. Finally masking at the door is a pause in the rush to do a check to see if you got all the tools everybody knows the game plan and the crew is wearing everything safe. helmet strapped hood on correct coat on right. we all check each other three thumbs up and its game on.
now we sit around the housefire and sing our housefire song. Our H-O-U-S-E-F-I-R-E S-O-N-G Song. If you dn't think it can burn down faster then you're wrong. It'll help if you throw on some lava. BURN BURN BURN!
Dude perfect camera positioning. I'm also pleasantly surprised by how fast you guys moved. There are so many videos on Youtube of guys moseying about, not in any hurry to get a line in operation. Good job.
its nice to see a fire dept that works fast and safe plus all u guys had u PPE and SCBA...you'd be suprised at the number of dept's that dont follow s.o.p
