I really don't get those people that come listen to a vid(/band/song) about Wicca/Paganism (especially one like this that already has "Tribute to Paganism" in it's title) and then tell everyone how awesome christianity is and how terrible paganism is...WHY do they do that?

@fentina Having been a Christian once in my life (now Pagan), I understand the mindset. It's partly from the directive to Paul to "go forth and tell the world" and partly a concordance with Noah proclaiming salvation to a "lost" world.
Many Christians believe the world will end in our generation. They believe the world will only be reborn one last time when Yahweh defeats Satan, so they proselytize aggressively as a panic reaction to this sense of finality.

@ighforever Without Constantine's editing you would believe that Jesus was only a man, not born of a virgin, who married, had children, and had female deciples. @VosRaven I believe you are correct, it did say 'thou shalt not suffer a poisoner to live' but pope gregory changed it in the sixth century to 'thou shalt not suffer a witch to live' to suit his own means. Don't know why he couldn't just leave witchs alone.

You know better than that, when we accept Jesus as Lord over our lives and believe he died to pay for all our sins, we also repent of sinnng of walking in the ways of the world and we turn to Righteousness. Righteousness is the Ways and Wisdom of God, these are not of this fallen evil world.

The people of Egypt, Canaan and the lands about did such evil we cant even say it on Youtube. God is Just and passed the proper sentence, this also was a lesson to us all, sinners will be punished. When he sent Jonah the prophet to Ninevah he was wanting to give them Mercy: that is forgivness of there evil. And they accepted. This is another lesson, that God will give Mercy to the Truely repentive. Jesus is Holy, our Mercy, nothing else would the Father Accept.

After 'looking up' and looking at the romans account of them, they did do human sacrifices. However, they only did it to people dying from disease . And even then this was rare. You ought to do more research on Babylon and Paganism. Learn your symbolism as most of it ties into Sun Worship from the ancient Egyptians. Learn how over the years names changed for Gods and most importantly look into the Sun People who put their symbolism all over everything. it amazes me that so many people are quick to jump on all defences. Paganism and Wicca is not a religion at all it is a spirituality. it is very much a personal journey and a path that only true spiritualist understands hence "The Craft Of The Wise". That doesn't adress my question at all. I asked why, if these people really were in touch with nature and super beings called gods who run the universe, why didn't they know about any of the things I listed? True, they understood herbal medicine, but that doesn't mean their religious and spiritual views of how the universe works were true (an example would be the Persians who thought the night and stars were a result of one of their gods covering the sky with his cloak).
I know they didn't know any of those things because they didn't demonstrate that they did, nor did anyone write this information down or carry it by word of mouth. If they knew about these things, they would be far greater a people than the Greeks who first proposed atoms and evolution. I'm not sure how that last comment is relevant, but yes, the Jews thought Earth was flat, just like the Greeks thought the sun was the wheel of a chariot driven by apollo and druids believed in magic.

@fentina Having been a Christian once in my life (now Pagan), I understand the mindset. It's partly from the directive to Paul to "go forth and tell the world" and partly a concordance with Noah proclaiming salvation to a "lost" world.
Many Christians believe the world will end in our generation. They believe the world will only be reborn one last time when Yahweh defeats Satan, so they proselytize aggressively as a panic reaction to this sense of finality.

He did not understand what God's Righteousness was all about. i.e. Justice, Mercy, Wisdom, Agape Love, Faith and Hope. Hitler's very works declare who he is, not any confession he may have made.
God is our Teacher and Master, we do as he teaches us to do. We also Obey his commands he is God and Lord and King.

You'd also have an entirely different set of hollidays not based off previous pagan holidays. He does this because of who he is, he cannot sin, & God must judge sin which is rebellion & wickedness. In you heart you have to turn from your ways and follow his ways. You have to really love God, and love him for who he is. When you see Jesus for who he is then you see the Father, who is above all. @VosRaven I believe you are correct, it did say 'thou shalt not suffer a poisoner to live' but pope gregory changed it in the sixth century to 'thou shalt not suffer a witch to live' to suit his own means. Don't know why he couldn't just leave witchs alone.

This is the Self-Sacrificial Love of God. A Love greater than the love you & I can generate. Also an understanding that it is great wisdom, only those who truely love him and submit to do his will can become his children.

Jesus has Reconciled us unto the Father by his Precious blood. Out of Love for us the Father sent Jesus to the Cross, out of Love for us Jesus died on the Cross, God wants us with him and not be Judged on sins, to walk in Righteousness as his Children in a Loving relationship with him.
If we refuse Christ we will be Judged on our sins, God wants us Saved.

You know better than that, when we accept Jesus as Lord over our lives and believe he died to pay for all our sins, we also repent of sinnng of walking in the ways of the world and we turn to Righteousness. Righteousness is the Ways and Wisdom of God, these are not of this fallen evil world.
God did order the destruction or deaths of many thousands, they were fairly judged on there crimes. They were criminals.

When he sent Jonah the prophet to Ninevah he was wanting to give them Mercy: that is forgivness of there evil. And they accepted. This is another lesson, that God will give Mercy to the Truely repentive. Jesus is Holy, our Mercy, nothing else would the Father Accept.

God used the Israelites as his instrument of punishment, it was a hard punishment but the midianites wanted war and they got it. God left the girls alive, just the girls and the livestock. It doesnt say anywhere they were raped. They may have been adopted into the Israelite families to be raised as Israelites.

I learnt it in History since I come from the south-west of Wales. But I did it in first year comp. I was 11 and it's been 5-6 years since I did it last. *shrug*
After 'looking up' and looking at the romans account of them, they did do human sacrifices. However, they only did it to people dying from disease . And even then this was rare. In those times it was considered a great honour, especially to the dying victims. At least they didn't have to die awfully by disease.

You ought to do more research on Babylon and Paganism. Learn your symbolism as most of it ties into Sun Worship from the ancient Egyptians. Learn how over the years names changed for Gods and most importantly look into the Sun People who put their symbolism all over everything. How is it people like Nostradomus who had to write in quatranes for fear of being burnt as a witch and Galieo who looked at the stars and saw possibilities had to keep that so quiet so they weren't killed yet things happen in their bible and they don't see their people as being burned or witches and yet Gaileo and Nostradomis have been viewed as devil worshipers and victims of ridicule and people like them. Ironic huh?

Ok first of all I Posted that comment over a month ago so at this [pint i really dont care what comments i get back.also you are right and wrong... the source of war is Selfishness, pride and fear, but two of those items are usually caused by someones beliefs. Selfishness is indeed part of wars,but think about it you have the crusades. The war right now, Oh heres one Hitler killed JEWS thats a religion. Selfishness, pride and fear are the opposites love, faith and hope. You are right about religion, but Jesus taught relationship. With God through the Holy Spirit and with other through the fruit of the Spirit. He is the only way to God. He gave His life for us, so we might be cleansed from sin, so the Holy Spirit of love, wisdom and comfort can move in, to seal your eternal destiny

Agree, what you are saying, although, I do not resonate, yet, what your understanding of cosmology, and, first and foremost, your understanding of the Creator, might be. Jesus was a wayshower, not understood, so far.
Christ Consciousness, is a fragment of Creator Consciousness.

We are a digital simulation of a larger reality. We live in a 10 dimensional or more universe, but we can only perceive 4 (3D = time) This means that the unseen eternal is more real then the physical temporal. Jesus and the Father are one in Spirit, nothing to do with consciousness which is a soul issue. Jesus revealed the Fathers plan, faith in Him gives you the Holy Spirit which even searches the deep things of God. This is the only way to establish a personal relationship with Him.

As i feel great anger AND hate for those to dislike me. Im not perfect ( no one is) but there have been many evils done under all symbols, to include national, religious, and any other. Christians burned witches, pagans fed christians to lions and burned them alive, sacrificed their own for various rights and reasons, etc. Muslims are the only ones other than pagans that find reasons to kill their own. Now, dont misunderstand me, I DONT hate pagans, just all people who hate me or wish me ill.

it amazes me that so many people are quick to jump on all defences. Paganism and Wicca is not a religion at all it is a spirituality. it is very much a personal journey and a path that only true spiritualist understands hence "The Craft Of The Wise". We are a movement of wise educated people who treat humankind and nature with respect pity others don't and we do not push our beliefs onto anyone.

If the people of this craft were so "wise," why didn't their great knowledge of nature and the gods, and their knowledge, help them to uncover things about nature such as viruses, bacteria, astronomy (not astrology, which is fundamentally flawed), the elements (not the bullshit five), evolution, chemical properties of matter, atoms, and molecular composition? Certainly your "well educated" people knew this information through a true understanding of nature well before the scientific method.

Same reason Da Vinci's helicopter didn't work--not enough tech. Tech comes before science sometimes.They knew it in a very roundabout way, and people use the knowledge in a roundabout way now because sometimes the psychological element helps them more than a doctor's office or a scientist.

Well, Lestat (he who is named himself after a vampire), back when there were small villages in Europe, Pagan men and women were needed in every village because our knowledge of herbs to make medicine was modern medicine of that time. If you are going to bash something, then you should know that Native Americans and Egyptians had similar practices to ours. So yes, we did have advanced knowledge. Not of periodic tables, of course. But the Egyptians were the first to perform brain surgery.

That doesn't adress my question at all. I asked why, if these people really were in touch with nature and super beings called gods who run the universe, why didn't they know about any of the things I listed? True, they understood herbal medicine, but that doesn't mean their religious and spiritual views of how the universe works were true (an example would be the Persians who thought the night and stars were a result of one of their gods covering the sky with his cloak).

I know they didn't know any of those things because they didn't demonstrate that they did, nor did anyone write this information down or carry it by word of mouth. If they knew about these things, they would be far greater a people than the Greeks who first proposed atoms and evolution. I'm not sure how that last comment is relevant, but yes, the Jews thought Earth was flat, just like the Greeks thought the sun was the wheel of a chariot driven by apollo and druids believed in magic.
