  • The Bible, Old Testament, Isaiah 17:1-3

The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap. The cities of Aroer are forsaken: they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid. The fortress also shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria: they shall be as the glory of the children of Israel, saith the LORD of hosts.

  • I worked in Damascus for two years as a nurse and I liked very much. Syria is really beautiful country with loooooooooooooooooooooong history.

  • Jeremiah 49

Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted; there is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet. Damascus is waxed feeble, and turneth herself to flee, and fear hath seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken her, as a woman in travail. How is the city of praise not left, the city of my joy! Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith YHVH

  • MY WIFE IS FROM DAMASCUS!!!

  • i seriously miss SYRIA (damascus)

  • Syria was quoted many times in the Bible. And Damascus in the Quran. Jesus is said to come back and fight the "fake Jesus" on the outskirts of Damascus. You find a Road to Damascus in the bible or Damascus gate in Jerusalem. God bless Syria and those who live there, regadless of thier origins.

  • Yes, the beautiful city of the East...

  • I am only trying to learn what you may already know. Every Nation will one day come together. It is most difficult for me not knowing the language. Please consider others and present fact. Thank you.

  • DAMASCUS IS GREEK

  • know this 1 day Damascus wil be no more

  • Our turkish city untill the stupid arabs betrayed us and got their asses pounded by the brittish.

  • @bugiej dude, Syria never been turkish, the Ottoman empire (Turkey before) occupied almost all the Arab world under the name of Islam, and later they treated those Arabs as slaves, killed many, forced young Arabs to fight for their own ideas or die if they refuse, and its logical that those Arabs would try to break from this slavery by joining (The enemy of their enemy).

but this doesn't matter anymore, we're now friends with the modern turks and this is what matters now (the future).

  • I think that the Syrians are cool, all of them are nice people, I hope I can make it and go and see it sometime, we use to be one country Egypt and Syria, I do not know what happened to that.

  • the worst thing about syria is the discusting mustashs which the men insist on having...

  • just like every where else, there is people like to be different just to be different even if it means to be stupid in a smart class or country[in syria case]

let who ever want to talk against syria talk,, syria been there for over than 8000 years,, if those people words would threaten our country, we wouldnt be there by now,, we gave this world the first alphabet, the colors, and much more,, maybe one day they will understand,, i hope so

  • @mrfmousa9

hmm so you gave thisworld the 1's alphabet would that be hebrew

  • I so pine for living in Damascus some day. My soul calls for it. Not that I'm Muslim, though. But still.

  • I've been here...Beautiful country indeed...I just find some of the people quite strict and cold...like they have no feelings and that isn't about religion its about how some people are there. Religion doesn't come into it. And before you start saying I'm talking shit, I'm NOT talking shit. I've been to Syria so i know what it's like! I've been all over the Middle East...

  • How safe is damascus really for westerners?

  • i went there this past summer and it was a beyond amazing experience. After hearing stories and what not i was nervous but everyone was extremely nice. I was pleasantly surprised! you should definitely try and visit this amazing place skaterocknroll :)

  • thanks for the information! :) I will try

  • the Old Stone Age in Syria since the million-year-end A year 12 thousand BC. M.

The middle Stone Age runs from 12 thousand in BC. M in the 8 thousand BC. M.

And starts the Neolithic pottery since pre-history and even a thousand

VI BC. M Age pottery and runs until the fourth millennium BC. M.

At the end of this era lived Homo sapiens 40 thousand BC. M which is the direct predecessor Human being.

So what do you think after hearing this talk.

Syria was the beginning of civilizations.

  • What is Syria& damascus?a petty dictatorship that is goverened by a bunch of Alawis(10% of the population) who are hated by the majority sunnis. The alawis are protected by Israel because they are a minority.Once their time comes to an end,the alawis will be punished &syria will be divided into states:Kurd,Druze,Alawi, sunni. The way it was during the French times.During Ottoman times :Syria was wilayats:Damascus,Aleppo,Homs..etc..

This who you really are.Never a real nation state.

  • You must be a stupid and ignorant Israeli you idiot. Go read about Syria and its history

  • I know about Syria and its history.During the french mandate syria was 4 states:Alawi, halab, damascus,Druze. You should read history. Then the French brought it together.Bashar Grandpa wanted a seperate satate for the Nusayris in Latilkia. You should read your history.

Remember the massacre of Hama??/The Sunnis are waiting to get back at the Alawis and massacre them.

  • What a low-life scum...Are the Israelis paying you by the word, or letter? Syria was the combination of Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, and a good part of Turkey. It was always a state you moron. The French divided Syria to weaken it. You won't find an Alawi, Halabi, or Durzi or any Syrian agree with this nonesense of yours. I bet you're a lebanese maronite, which is the same as a zionist

  • That is not true. First of all, Muslim Sunni's take up most of the population, so that the percentage of every other religion is inferior. Second, they all get along very well, Alawis aren't really the nicest people in the world, but no body has a serious problem with anyone. If they did, then Syria would've been like Lebanon. Third, Syria was never a group of wilayat. Before the French arrived, "Great Syria" included Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine, and part of Turkey.

  • There was nothing called a greater Syria.

It was different Wilayats :halab ,damascus,Homs etc.( all part of the Ottoman Empire).Once the Alawi regime falls, the Sunnis are going to get their revenge by putting the 10% Alawis to the knife. The Kurds in Hasaka also want to be part greater Kurdistan.

Israel is protecting the syrian regime because it is docile, sold the golan, and a minority.Stop deciving yourself.

  • You obviously have no idea what your talking about either, because Homs is an EXTREMELY small city to be considered a seperate state. It was always part of Syria, and Damascus was always the capital of all those countries together.

  • Read Your History Well.During Ottoman times there was nothing called a Syria. You were part of Ottoman Wilayats.During the french Mandate, the french established :state for Alawis,State for Druze,State in Halab,STATE IN Damascus before deciding to bring them together..Your fate will be similar to Iraq IF THE REGIME FALLS.SUNNIS WILL MASSACRE ALAWIS.The Kurds will go their way..etc....

  • Were are you from?!

That Ottoman empire shit was centuries ago, people are a little more open minded now...They don't hold the same grudges they used to hold. Trust me, right now, Syria is the last country to have a civil war...

  • Syria is an iraq waiting to happen..Syria was formed by the French after the defeat of the Ottomans. If real elections take place, the president will be a Sunni(most probably a fundamantalist one) and not an Alawi.

  • wer redet da im hintergrund? das macht das ganze schöne video kapput
