Quote: “No other living species has been able to develop technologies like space travel or cloning so without human survival all other life-forms on earth are ultimately doomed to extinction anyhow!!!” So what!? Don’t you get it? Animals did just fine before humans evolved. There was no evil before humanity. Existence was an instinctive life - death struggle. Animals were able to roam a planet which was free from self-serving, self-gratifying, human-induced suffering and pollution.
@1StoryImageFigure1 I never said that overpopulation was not a problem. I just don't think that these guys have anything in the way of a solution. Just a lot of nonsense and wishful thinking.
We have ravaged economies; increasing wealth gaps; inexorable political, ideological and religious differences; unforgivable exploitation of animals; food shortages and depleted (soil) nutrition from relentless commercial farming. OK, yes, this IS all negative stuff and there ARE some great, benevolent, caring people out there…….but absolutely nowhere near enough of them.
Texasjim2007: Warning! The following ‘negativities’ may not concur with your rose-tinted perception: Ha ha, funny guy! ”Life’s Best Hope” So, when do you figure this hope will come to fruition; to be realised? In the meantime, it seems you’re content for the greed, the conflicts, the incessant human breeding, the poverty and the suffering to continue. Get real…! We’re in the midst of the richest period of technological advancement in human history and the planet is in its unholiest mess yet.
JayOleck: Can't take it seriously? You're obviously in a western comfort zone and happy for this shit to continue. Let's place you in a stinking ghetto, sick, malnourished and seeing life as a living hell........then we'll review your perspective of VHEM.
There always only exists a single global objective function (or utility function, if you prefer). And it is not some simple-minded maximization of the desires of any particular species (humans vs non-humans) or race or nationality but a minimization of the maximal amount of pain suffered by any single organism.
So, that utility function ALREADY takes into account the fact that a bacterium doesn't experience as much pain as a bear when both are subjected to a hot flame.
Reproduction of humans should be allowed to resume if and only if life is made perfectly fair. Until then, it's you stupid assholes who defend massive inequities of wealth on a finite planet and inequities of political power who are the ones who deserve to pay the price if we have to euthanize the whole planet. I don't really want to have to do it, but you rightwing fanatical anti-socialist conservaturds caused all the problems today. You deserve to be tortured to death.
@YodaLN you are supporting satan god has commanded humanity to reproduce be fruitfull im going to have kids some day and i cant wait and theres nothing you VHEMT GENOCIDAL ASS HOLES can do about it
Ah, overzealous enviro-nuts. Thank you for giving us one more thing to laugh at.
As much as I agree that overpopulation is a problem, this is way out of left field and doesn't stand up to about 3 minutes worth of logic. How anyone can take it seriously is beyond me.
I agree, but we can stay calm. People in their extinction is hard at work on its own. I would even say that the effort for their own extinction is so perfect that any attempt to accelerate it would be a retrograde step. Sorry for my horrible english.
we as human are not the only spieces on earth. we just live as if we are. what a shame. i do hope someday nature does what nature does best and gets rid of what is wrong with this small planet . i dont think a 147 is goin do the trick. it helps but its not enough
VHEMT is ridicolous, the human race is the most evolved race in the known universe, we got to colonize space and other great things, if you don't like your race please commit suicide and shut the hell up...fucking emos
@MisterPerfect1989 In the known universe? We can barely see anything vivid outside our solar system. We may be the most evolved, but we're the most flawed. You're the fucking emo. I bet if you were FORCED to stop eating meat, or forced to suffer through what an animal suffers, or even see animal testing or factory farms in their work, you'd be crying. You really need to learn humility. We are NOT the center of the world. Grow up.
@MisterPerfect1989 People are the reason we are in this fucking mess, and pretty much everyone who's in the dictator's position would do the same by living the dictator's life. Tr to help creatures that are INNOCENT bystandards. At least learn that they feel as much as us and deserve freedom too.
@MisterPerfect1989 89 is your birth year, right? Well, why aren't you working and strengthing the economy? We all have our free time to fight for good causes.
@vgman94 Because i'm in a nation where young people struggles to find a decent work. I'm in a nation where our prime minister is a pedophile and a criminal. I'm in a nation in big economic mess, sorry if i don't care about poor animals
@MisterPerfect1989 Ironically, we wouldn't be in this mess if we weren't overpopulated. If we had more resources saved by not overusing things, we'd be in no mess or at least a smaller mess.
@vgman94 You are ridicolous, you are really ridicolous...if Berlusconi is a dictator and Italy in crisis it's fault of overpopulation! I'm happy for you that don't know what real life is...
@MisterPerfect1989 I wasn't talking about the dictatorship! Jeez. I mean food shortages, wars over resources. I don't know too much about economics, but I believe this is also distantly connected to job losses (less food, prices go higher. People have less money. Higher ups cut workforce, people go poor. Vague, but I get a feeling...).
@vgman94 Ok sorry, i misunderstood you. BTW wars are always for things like petrol oil, the wars are sadly always existed on the earth, i think even if there are only 1.000 people it could end in a war, sadly the greed and aggression is in the nature of a lot of mans! But not all! That why a movement like VHEMT, that wants the extinction of human race is idiot!
We tinker round the edges of the problem in a bumbling, well meaning, totally ineffective way. We try to save the tiger, the panda and other cuddly species. We are WAY past worrying about individual species - they are doomed and it is utterly and entirely our doing.
The human race has very little to be proud of and will be very little missed.
IT is out RIGHT to breed, our RIGHT to use animals in any way we see fit, our RIGHT to abuse nature and destroy the natural environment however we see fit. Go right ahead - you are sleepwalking to your own destruction and the planet will heave a huge sigh of relief when you are gone.
Nature does not tolerate flawed species and, in evolutionary terms, we are a failed and flawed species. We like to think we are so successful - look what we have achieved, we rule the planet - and we will destroy, not the planet, not life on this planet, but this planet's ability to support us as a species.
I sort of support VHEMT's aims but they are hopelessly optimistic if they think that any significant number of people would stop breeding.
However, VHEMT, take heart because what you want will happen anyway:-)
Fortunately (from the point of view of the planet, that is) the human race, as a species, incurably arrogant, self important, short sighted and always fails to learn from its own mistakes.
this is fucking dumb.... hopless is the right word... relize your wasting your time... and find a new hobby like painting. then make a video of your painting
@weedipikia Actually if you visit the website, you'll notice how they keep claiming that they love people. It's not really convincing, especially when juxtaposed with their main view that humanity is a virus destroying the planet. It's one of many statements they make that doesn't make a lick of sense when you apply basic logic.
Reality check. No other living species has been able to develop technologies like space travel or cloning so without human survival all other lifeforms on earth are ultimately doomed to extinction anyhow sometime between now and when the sun becomes a red giant. Human technological growth is in fact life's best hope.
@Texasjim2007 LOL. Not if our technological growth (and population growth) consumes everything. Remember that everything has advantages and disadvantages. Everything will be doomed to extinction anyway. We're not gods. If the universe wants us dead, we'll be dead no matter how smart we are and become.
@Texasjim2007 Life is overrated and shit. Fuck humans, may they die out and be extinct. This planet was better off without humans and so were the animals. Unless you count deforestation, pollution, animal testing etc to be beneficial.
Is it just me, or is anyone else getting real sick and tired of being called a virus? Human overpopulation is an issue that needs to be dealt with, but how about coming up with some practical solutions to the problem and stop wasting your time with impractical, Utopian fantasies?
So, let's say we get rid of humanity...and later on, all other life on the planet is destroyed by an apollo asteroid colliding with earth...which would have otherwise been pushed off course by an intervening deflection craft...built by human beings... You like that idea? :P
@randommagnum And yet, we stabbed bulls to death for enertainment, boiling thousands of lobsters alive unnecessarily. people used to kill cats for their guts, burn them, we've stabbed, electrocuted, and done other terrible torments to whales just for food. We go into THEIR territory with our sick & insane overpopulation, and when they even attack us, we kill 10 of their species, so... We are a TERRIBLE species, even to ourselves (Watch the 07 movie: The Gir Next Door), so we need to die off...
Have you seen how other members of the animal kingdom treat each other?
Have you ever seen a cat play with a mouse for hours until it dies, or a bear peel a fish like a banana, or a cougar rip apart a deer alive, or a lion crush lion cubs of another male?
Do these animals have any concern for the suffering THEY inflict on other animals? Actually, the only carnivore that cares at all is the human being.
Don't lie. Bears don't peel fish at all, they eat them. And all your examples besides the cat&mouse one are because they need to EAT. And they have no other means of food, unlike us. Animals, unlike us, have less empathy because they are more primal, but does that mean they're evil? No. Cats don't realize they're hurting the mouse so badly. To them, it's just a toy, but we do things to them CONSCIOUSLY and ignore the fact that they have minds & emotions. Humans don't care either. Watch news...
@vgman94 Don't lie? Your the one lying and arguing speciously here. First off, some of your examples (lobster, whales) are also sources of food; second, YES cats know that they are inflicting pain, as much as a sociopath knows it when they are doing it, so you'd have to argue in favor of sociopaths if you want to go down that road. As for unadulterated animal cruelty...I'm not for that, but you are using it as an excuse to eradicate humanity, which amounts to a greater quantity of injustice.
@randommagnum Oh, so BOILING lobsters alive and electrocuting whales for food is alright? There are more humane ways, you idiot. Cats know they're inflicting pain... How stupid do you think I am? I have had cats most of my life and when they play, they do it for fun. They don't know the extent of pain they inflict and see the animal as a toy, nothing more (big cats see food as nothing but food, just moving food). Also, how can you say destroying humanity is an injustice?! Watch Earthlings and...
@vgman94 Ah, glad to see you've gone to the point of name calling, so as to let us know what you're made of...good. Just what I'd expect from someone who calls all of humanity a menace, but somehow doesn't include himself in that...
Never heard of whale electrocution (isolated incident?) but as for boiling lobsters, no, it's not very humane; however, a misanthrope like yourself would decry consumption of animals under ANY slaughter technique. Admit it.
@randommagnum I don't like the slaughter of animals for meat, but I do admit that it's needed for humans to not starve. So I am part of it, so what? Most people are part of it. Just being human makes our negative effect on the Earth inescapable. But we need to change and fast, or die, for if we don't death is what we'll deserve. What's this about Chickens pecking fellow chickens to death? Have you seen too many movies or do you have some proof? Never heard of such an odd event.
@vgman94 So, if you are part of it, quit knocking it as if you weren't. You'd have to eradicate yourself if you want to talk like this and not be a hypocrite; being a hypocrite may be better than killing yourself, but it's still not good. And sure, we can make some changes, but wiping ourselves out is not going to be one of them. Those who think we are good for nothing have a completely skewed, eccentric and biased way of looking at things.
@randommagnum Naw, we're good for some stuff... Like meat for another species...
Bloodthristy behavior.... ? What are you, high? They aren't humans. They aren't bloodthristy. Where did you hear of such insanity? They must have some disease to do such a sickening act. They shock, stun with Sound and do other attrocious acts to whales to bring them in for meat which is ILLEGAL. Fac it: We're a greedy, disgusting and moralless species.
@randommagnum (Part 2) And see just how "humane" your precious humans really are... We're nothing but a cancer that must be eradicated. We do many more injustices to much more species then they've done to each other. Wake up and open your eyes: We're a menace to the Earth and almost every animal on the Earth.
@vgman94 As for animals being innocent of creating misery, you're going to have to scrounge up a lot better argument than kittens playing. How about how a raccoon breaks into a chicken coup, massacring dozens of chickens but taking none to eat...or how about chickens pecking to death a mismatched chicken as soon as they see a blood spot...OH but it's all "playing"... I see.
And if Chickens actually DO "eat" blood from other chickens, they must either be starving or diseased since, from what I know, something like that does not happen. Double-standrad? Not much, but possibly a bit, because animals haven't caused me much harm, while humans have caused me a Hell's worth of pain. FEW?! THOUSANDS die each day and in total, probably over 100x our population have died because of our exploitation of other species since we evolved. What positive? Only for ourselves...
@vgman94 Chickens aren't eating the blood; it's not for food. It's purely bloodthirsty behavior, and mob mentality. You've never heard of them doing that? I'm surprised to hear that from someone who has heard of "whale electrocution" (?) Furthermore, every other species on earth doesn't do ANYTHING for the benefit of any other species but its own...except for us, even though *most* of what we do is for ourselves. Before responding, think about that one really hard...
@randommagnum Maybe most species don't do good things for each other by INTENTION, but there is an equillibrium which feeds itself in a cycle. A cycle we have disrupted for nothing more than some safety and leisure, instead of trying to be a part of nature. Also, tell me, since you're such a lover of humans, what "good" have we done to the animal/natural world besides having some gardens & tending to cats & dogs? Which, btw, is much less than the damage we cause to every other ecosystem.
@vgman94 Now finally, this idea you have about killing all humans to avenge the death of some animals that have been inhumanely killed is going to make many more wrongs and no rights. You use this sophistry about how much of an injustice "we" are, and yet you fail to see all of the positive things brought about by humanity. What's worse is that you talk as if you aren't included somehow...but ah, what can I say? You call it a crime to be human...well enjoy your punishment, FELLOW HUMAN.
The only positives we've brought is to ourselves. Maybe to cockrouchs and rats, but overall, we're pieces of shit. Admit it. I prefer not to think of myself as human (despite that I undeniably am) because the thought that I am the same type of creature that hits pigs for enjoyment, tears off the skin off seals by hand and leaves them alive with skin disgusts me to no end. And yet you fail to see how evil we truly and claim we've done some "good". Deforestation & Global Warming wouldn't agree.
@vgman94 No we aren't pieces of shit, and yes, you are human...but this response here really shows how you are going wrong. You think of yourself as being the same thing that does cruel (and rightfully disgusting) things to animals, but it isn't you PERSONALLY who does that, right? To say that we are all that way is bigotry in the purest sense of the word.
I hate to say it, but you've let your animal rights activism take you somewhere it wasn't supposed to...it has clouded your perspective.
Am I not disgusted with myself personally, yes, since I would beat someone who was beating a cat into a bloody pool. Maybe so, but according to the great USA, the majority wins, right? And the fagtastic majority in this "great" country says that hunting is not cruel (despite foxes getting limbs torn off and 1 fox suffocating from ingesting dirt to get away from hunting dogs), animals are property, and that people are the most important. This nation has it all wrong... Along with the whole world.
@vgman94 I can't believe you are 54 years old... 54 years of hypocrisy.
You are a hypocrite if you don't go out and feed yourself to a bear right now. You said that we are good for "meat for another species", so don't you dare try to make an exception for yourself, you SELF-RIGHTEOUS HYPOCRITE.
I guess I shouldn't expect you to listen or learn at 54...you'd reject anything I told you about humanity's virtues, given you attitude...it'd be a waste of time.
Why not feed myself to a bear? Because 1. It'll cause me alot of pain (but feeding my corpse to a bear is no problem to me), 2. It'll make authorities kill the bear since they think it'll attack other humans (and they'd probably get the wrong bear, those bastards) and 3. I have a bit more use trying to make people change their ways then dying & being able to do nothing more. Also, you're avoiding a Q of mine: You say humanity has virtures, yet you haven't said WHAT...
@vgman94 Oh a fake age? Yeah right. Why be embarrassed about it? Don't you know everything in your seasoned wisdom? You're doing just what everyone like you on youtube does when I call them out on information in their profile... "Oh the info in my profile is fake, but I'm telling you the truth here." You are 54 years old if you are a day, and your mind is not going to get any better than this, unfortunately.
1. Fine, whatever. You don't want to believe I'm younger, fine. Stay ignorant for all I care. Which you have already. Unfortunately? You are the one who'll believe to the day he dies that humans are God's creatures and that, we're Special... LOL. Humans show restraint, humans saved animals... Humans care for ani-What BS are you talking about? The amount of damage and torment we've done to the AK has outweighted the positive factors by 350Klb. How aboutthousands of boiled lobsters? (cont).
@vgman94 Yup, just what I thought. No other member of the animal kingdom ever has or ever will show any kind of restraint, but you can't see that. All your 54-year-old inflexible, tunnel-vision and marijuana-charred mind can process are concepts like boiling lobsters, etc. "Who cares about humans! What about those cute little cutie pie poor little cute little animals?! Fuck humans! Mutilate them all...except for me."
@randommagnum What BS. I saw my own cat when I was younger going for blood against a younger cat we found (A surprisingly friendly stray), but controlled herself a bit later and just walked away (and the younger cat was trying to play-fight with my older cat, but she was too old to do that). I know by fact that they CAN control themselves. Not very much, but a good amount. Nonono. It's forgivable if you feel GUILTY and don't do it, needlessly. Those 2 factors are needed to be forgiven in my...
@vgman94 1). The way you talk, why would you have concern for the pain of a human? Oh, I know...because it's YOU, and you only care about yourself.
2). You could do it out in the forest, just like Timothy Treadwell. That's another cop-out, and the "wrong bear" theory eats itself too because according to you, even the bear that ate you is innocent.
3). Complete hypocritical cop-out. You could be more productive MURDERING people by that logic; you could kill more than you'd ever convince.
3. I ever forgave was a guy on a YT vid once who said that he hunted because he needed to, but felt guilty about ending a life, so he didn't waste any part of the animal. THAT is a forgivable hunter. A person with a soul. But 90% of humanity is full of shit for thinking that animals are things & that only humans are important. This is the species you want to protect? You disgust me. As for the bear: He'd eat me for self-defense, food, mistaken attacker or wanting to save mean for later...
@vgman94 First of all, you are a hypocrite for saying that hunting is forgivable if you need the meat. The human should willing die because all humanity is worthless, remember? You are SUCH a hypocrite, because you said I disgust you for wanting to protect a human, and yet you say a human hunting for food is forgivable. Feeding even that one hunter is protecting humanity.
You disgust everyone and everything who is reasonable.. You'd disgust a bear.
2. Book. Hahaha! You'd disgust a flea. Oh, bullshit. I know what bears are really like. Why do you think I like them? Their cute look, but powerful, ferocious nature. Great creatures, bears are. And very misunderstood, as you show. Sometimes they kill each other, but hey, don't we? They do it more often (relative to pop size) because they don't have laws or a society that overvalues it's own species. Yes, that means I condone murder in certain situations, but killing for no/small reasons is...
@vgman94 cont.. I'm not saying you SHOULD go around murdering people or that you should kill yourself, but even those foolish pursuits would be less hypocritical than staying alive and living as a hypocrite.
Have you had enough, or would you like me to brow-beat you some more? :)
4. (Opportunist). So maybe the bear doesn't have the concept of morals, but at least bears are relatively nice to their own species and docile if they're not hungry or threaten (most of the time). Aww.... I'll be honest. That's so CUTE! You really think you're pwning me. That's sweet. Also, why would I care for any fucking human who isn't a friend to me? Animals have caused me minimal pain while humans, even family, give me many thoughts of suicide. But animals are understanding, unhateful...
@vgman94 Yup, another tell-tale sign of what a senseless old hippie you are. Bears attack and kill each other, on a much more regular basis than humans, by population. They're big, furry, roly-poly tubs of joy you KNOW NOTHING ABOUT. You have this mystical teddy bear perception of them, and yet they are not docile, and they DON'T LIKE YOU or ANYTHING ABOUT YOU.
3. Wrong. No, I hate humans, but that doesn't mean I don't love animals. I love animals, for their diversity, their unique traits, differences and similarities to humans (some personality traits like humans: See YT vid: Jambo the Gentle Giant Jersey Zoo Boy fell into Gorilla pit) and because they don't have human "intelligence" which has tormented me more than anything. Ever thought that, instead of saying I have a "fouled up perspective", that I might've actually been treated bad by others?
@TheRivetthead You conservative dicks will never learn, will you? YOU are the genocidal assholes. Animals aren't made by God nor objects to be used. Just because YOU want to have kids, that does not mean you have any right to destroy another creature for your pleasure. You don't have to have kids. Stop thinking by God and start thining for yourself.
"...humans, even family, give me many thoughts of suicide..."
Ah, now we are getting to the heart of the matter. Never mind the fact that animals are NOT understanding — that's your fouled up perspective again.... What's happening is that you are driven, not love for animals, but hatred of other people....you think animals will give you love that you don't feel others have.
So what's your story? I'm curious. PM me if you feel more comfortable.
Animals ARE understanding. I even know a friend who told me his cat is more sympathetic then his own siblings (and animals CAN communicate feelings through a stare. Go work with animals and learn something), which I concurr. Not at all. While I do wish my pets were a bit more affectionate, for their species (cats), they're very warm to me. And being neutral (which is not hate or love, persecution or affection) is still much better than the treatment most people give me. I sent you the Pm, did...
5. Animals have caused me small pain, and that pain is normally unintentional. Humans have caused me such pain that the memories of hate are like being eaten alive over & over for as long as the memories return, which they do, every now & then. Mo own mother has caused me irreparable pain. Family gatherings are so uncomfortable because I'm an outcast. Do animals act as exclusive, hateful & as opinionated as humans? No. The emotional pain of a human life is much larger than being killed by a bear
@randommagnum (2) You haven't said WHAT those virtures are exactly. You know why that is? Because 80-90% of mankind has NO TRUE MORALITY!!! Can you understand this, sir?!
@vgman94 Well again, you would dismiss everything I said was a virtue. I could talk about how humans, despite all they have done, have shown restraint when it comes to animals and the environment...I could talk about how many have saved and cared for animals...I could talk about humans at least trying to clean up some of their messes...
But you are so polarized, and you have such tunnel vision, you'd never acknowledge any of it.
2. How about those tortured whales who get electrocuted and also get exploding harpoons in their bodies? What about foxes who get mauled and/or shot by dogs & humans who don't NEED to kill them? Don't believe me? I'll send you the link. And what's worse is that EVERY group has it's own agenda. Whaling groups oppose factory farming. Those who like pets don't care for wildlife (well, not many) and those who hunt actually like pets, but don't give a shit about foxes or deer. The only hunter (cont).
I disagree. White (European-derived) people (8% of human population) are already experiencing population decline of 40% every generation and experiencing massive non-white immigration and massive non-white birth rates. The races of man are not equal. They differ in average intelligence among other things.Read "The Bell Curve," "Race, Evolution, and Behavior," or "Why Race Matters," VHEMT is omitting facts and only promoting "voluntary human extinction" in White countries.
Humans are a part of nature just like cancer is a part of our bodies. Just a small part of something bigger, but yet it effects it in such an overly negative way.
Considering the inevitability of comet catastrophic comet collision or the potential total destruction of a wandering blackhole, why does this matter ? Even baring those non-terrestrial events there is the eventual 100% guarantee of supernova as our sun dies in a few billion years. What a few billion years for a few animals? preference of a natural extinction event to an anthropomorphic one is totally subjective and meaningless.
In addition, considering the infinite surface area of space non-sentient life has more to gain by risking extinction from humanity under the potential gain if humanity reaches sustainability and becomes space-faring and can seed other planets with life. Life would do well to endure massive losses now ( which will happen anyway) and hope that some marginal biophilia of human's is maintained.
We are children of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; we have a right to be here. And whether or not it's clear to us, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
As far as possible without surrender, fight on, for in this ever changing universe a unique race has risen to unravel timeless secrets. Such a race will come to protect life, not destroy it - it's easy to forget there have been 5 mass extinctions... life is lucky to exist - and now, we could be its only hope.
Hey again :) This time however, I believe we can both agree that as far as VHEMT are concerned, a one child policy would be better for the long term 'biosphere' than a no child voluntary policy.. as I said : P.
If we dont procreate the wars will finish, there wont be humans killin themselves, there wont be hunger, illneses, nothin of pain, thats my reason to stop procreation
we have earned our ability to dominate other species. This is the entire point behind natural selection. I'm not being human-centric, I'm being nature-centric, because evolution is part of nature. Think of it this way: humans are at the top of the evolutionary chain. If humans die off, that will be breaking the evolutionary chain, and interrupting nature's progression."
Were at the top of the food chain, and if you look at history, whenever the main predator dies out, it's prey which is every other animal on this earth thrives. Well maybe your cute little kitty cats will die out, but you know I doubt even that, because cats and dogs can adapt, and they most likely would within a generation go back to hunting for themselves. No one would miss us, we would of left large box shaped buildings and toxic trash everywhere, what the fuck have we ever contributed?
I can just as easily argue that since we're the most intelligent species on earth (the one with the most advanced technology), we have earned our ability to dominate other species. This is the entire point behind natural selection. I'm not being human-centric, I'm being nature-centric, because evolution is part of nature. Think of it this way: humans are at the top of the evolutionary chain. If humans die off, that will be breaking the evolutionary chain, and interrupting nature's progression.
This is a point that Naturalists often ignore; they assume humans to be divorced from nature somehow. This is so obviously false as demonstrated by the many efforts to suspend physical laws or to replace economic law with force (that in particular has lead to the great many authoritarian disasters and i believe this current global contraction also).
I don't know any naturalists who believe this, and I certainly don't. I am aware that humans are domesticated primates. But that should not detract from our creation of domestricated-primate tools: modern technology. The reason for the current global contraction is that we have a monetary-based, rather than a resource-based, economy. (That, and the system was designed to fail from the start.)
If naturalists don't believe humans are somehow separate from nature then why do Naturalists lament humans destructive actions yet do not address natural destructive events like land bridges opening and allowing migration of generalists that destroy endemics ? Or the total loss of non-terrestrial extinction events, comets , black holes supernova ? Humans are just playing their natural role in the universe nothing more.
I'm not sure we're talking about the same thing. I'm talking about naturalism, the philosophy that all phenomena can be explained in terms of natural causes and laws. None of what you said necessarily follows from this.
On economy, my point was Keynesian dogma tries to command nature or ignore true savings and dictate what is the savings rate sending false signals to the market which direct capital into investment channels that are not sound or sustainable. Regardless of what is used for "money" oil, electron potential, paper specie , or precious metals value is subjective and cannot be dictated by force without consequences violating the boundaries of economic law and suffering penalties.
What I posted was supposed to be the tail of a URL to a film called "Zeitgeist Addendum." This documentary explains why the world monetary system was designed to create perpetual debt and class stratification.
To summarize, the Federal Reserve Bank was created illegally in a secret meeting of four Senators and President Harry Truman. A document called "Modern Money Mechanics" was written, which laid out the capitalistic principles by which the monetary system is controlled.
Specifically, the creation of money is identical with the creation of debt. This debt is continuously placed on the lower and middle classes to the advantage of the upper class, effectively enslaving the masses to the few rich elites.
@ArcadianGenesis hey, thanks for that ! =) I actually saw that part of the documentary, I have it in my faves. Yeah, the system is made to fall apart. POor human race. =\
Humans are naturally evolved from this earth. Therefore, voluntary human extinction would be acting *contrary* to nature. This is just one reason among many why this philosophy is an epic fail.
This is completely false. Survival of the fittest will kick in once we begin our journey off the planet earth into space migration. When humans are the only species advanced enough to migrate off the planet, then we'll survive while other species will not. That is natural selection at work in a new way. Also, don't try to hide behind the technology argument, because technology is also part of nature. Machines are still made of the same fundamental particles that we are. VHEMT is a failure.
Now its safe and peacefull for the children!lol joking,i support VHEMT because i believe in reincarnation and i realy dont want to come back after i die.Lets erase humans.
haha it is people like you that make me wish humans should really give it up because theyre too stupid to even bother existing.. but then again its only the majority that is..
I personally disagree with the VHEMT. While I agree that, presently, our existence is a detriment to other life on earth, I:
a) Believe our impact will lessen with developlent (fusion energy will totally eliminate CO2 emissions).
b) See no long-term solution to our extinction. Sure, animal life will rebuild and flourish for a while, but then another intelligent species will evolve, develop agriculture out of a desire for most of their kind to survive, and the same problems will arise.
Although I do plan on, in the future, adopting rather than having children of my own. I think that the millions of young children suffering in orphanages should be given homes before we bring anymore into the world.
This is an idea of complete idiocy! Instead of instinction, why not look for solutions? All this is, is giving up, and it will never work. I am tired of people coming up with demonic solutions to my world, please keep this insanity to yourself!
What good is the existence of nature without the existence of a consciousness capable of perceiving it's beauty? Complete human extinction isn't necessary. The banksters that run the world will kill 80 to 90% of us soon enough; which will solve the environmental issue. Anyway, human existence (conscious existence), is the anti-natural element and a necessary one. Nature inevitably evolves into the anti-natural in order to transcend itself.
I support VHEMT. Because people who have the view that humans have to be extinct to make the world a better place, probably shouldnt have kids. You guys must be pissed at your parents! What were they thinking? I mean, come on, your group are clearly sane and reasonable people!
wow pigenator you are the douche bag that wants to go have four kids and theyll all have more kids etc.,,, in other words you are the kind of person that keeps us a parasite
I don't think VHEMT thinks far enough; instead of just encouraging people not to breed, which doesn't stop people from doing so, VHEMT should instead put something in the water supply that makes people sterile. That would solve the whole thing!
The problem with the whole "mankind is a virus" argument is that we, unlike actual viruses, are capable of enjoying our existence. I really enjoy living, and I want others to be able to enjoy living in the future. This argument alone destroys yours. But there are many more.
Ok..wtf is going on?!?!? WHY ARE PEOPLE THINKING THAT WE ARE A FUCKING VIRUS?!?! Yes we do pollute and we are overcrowding but this...this is just WAAAYYY too extreme. Im not going to not have kids just so a bunch of fucking radical tree huggers can be happy. messege to VHEMT:FUCK YOU!!
well then, I'm proud of you, you did well telling your father that. He should have made you more imaginative (sry my english, I'm not a native speaker)
Oh boy, you're right Catawba! A real thinker is a man who sees humans are doing wrong, and instead of using his natural intelligence to fix the problem, decides to kill off the human race. What a genius!

We have ravaged economies; increasing wealth gaps; inexorable political, ideological and religious differences; unforgivable exploitation of animals; food shortages and depleted (soil) nutrition from relentless commercial farming.

We tinker round the edges of the problem in a bumbling, well meaning, totally ineffective way. We try to save the tiger, the panda and other cuddly species. We are WAY past worrying about individual species - they are doomed and it is utterly and entirely our doing.
The human race has very little to be proud of and will be very little missed.
cris2507 1 year ago
IT is out RIGHT to breed, our RIGHT to use animals in any way we see fit, our RIGHT to abuse nature and destroy the natural environment however we see fit. Go right ahead - you are sleepwalking to your own destruction and the planet will heave a huge sigh of relief when you are gone.
cris2507 1 year ago
Nature does not tolerate flawed species and, in evolutionary terms, we are a failed and flawed species. We like to think we are so successful - look what we have achieved, we rule the planet - and we will destroy, not the planet, not life on this planet, but this planet's ability to support us as a species.
cris2507 1 year ago
I sort of support VHEMT's aims but they are hopelessly optimistic if they think that any significant number of people would stop breeding.
However, VHEMT, take heart because what you want will happen anyway:-)
Fortunately (from the point of view of the planet, that is) the human race, as a species, incurably arrogant, self important, short sighted and always fails to learn from its own mistakes.

We are a TERRIBLE species, even to ourselves (Watch the 07 movie: The Gir Next Door), so we need to die off...
vgman94 1 year ago
@vgman94
Wake up and smell reality.
randommagnum 1 year ago
Watch news...
vgman94 1 year ago
@vgman94 Don't lie? Your the one lying and arguing speciously here. First off, some of your examples (lobster, whales) are also sources of food; second, YES cats know that they are inflicting pain, as much as a sociopath knows it when they are doing it, so you'd have to argue in favor of sociopaths if you want to go down that road. As for unadulterated animal cruelty...I'm not for that, but you are using it as an excuse to eradicate humanity, which amounts to a greater quantity of injustice.
randommagnum 1 year ago
@randommagnum Oh, so BOILING lobsters alive and electrocuting whales for food is alright? There are more humane ways, you idiot. Cats know they're inflicting pain... How stupid do you think I am? I have had cats most of my life and when they play, they do it for fun. They don't know the extent of pain they inflict and see the animal as a toy, nothing more (big cats see food as nothing but food, just moving food). Also, how can you say destroying humanity is an injustice?! Watch Earthlings and...
vgman94 1 year ago
@vgman94 Ah, glad to see you've gone to the point of name calling, so as to let us know what you're made of...good. Just what I'd expect from someone who calls all of humanity a menace, but somehow doesn't include himself in that...
Never heard of whale electrocution (isolated incident?) but as for boiling lobsters, no, it's not very humane; however, a misanthrope like yourself would decry consumption of animals under ANY slaughter technique. Admit it.
randommagnum 1 year ago
@randommagnum I don't like the slaughter of animals for meat, but I do admit that it's needed for humans to not starve. So I am part of it, so what? Most people are part of it. Just being human makes our negative effect on the Earth inescapable. But we need to change and fast, or die, for if we don't death is what we'll deserve. What's this about Chickens pecking fellow chickens to death? Have you seen too many movies or do you have some proof? Never heard of such an odd event.
vgman94 1 year ago
@vgman94 So, if you are part of it, quit knocking it as if you weren't. You'd have to eradicate yourself if you want to talk like this and not be a hypocrite; being a hypocrite may be better than killing yourself, but it's still not good. And sure, we can make some changes, but wiping ourselves out is not going to be one of them. Those who think we are good for nothing have a completely skewed, eccentric and biased way of looking at things.
randommagnum 1 year ago
@randommagnum Naw, we're good for some stuff... Like meat for another species...
Bloodthristy behavior.... ? What are you, high? They aren't humans. They aren't bloodthristy. Where did you hear of such insanity? They must have some disease to do such a sickening act. They shock, stun with Sound and do other attrocious acts to whales to bring them in for meat which is ILLEGAL. Fac it: We're a greedy, disgusting and moralless species.
vgman94 1 year ago
@randommagnum (Part 2) And see just how "humane" your precious humans really are... We're nothing but a cancer that must be eradicated. We do many more injustices to much more species then they've done to each other. Wake up and open your eyes: We're a menace to the Earth and almost every animal on the Earth.
vgman94 1 year ago
@vgman94 As for animals being innocent of creating misery, you're going to have to scrounge up a lot better argument than kittens playing. How about how a raccoon breaks into a chicken coup, massacring dozens of chickens but taking none to eat...or how about chickens pecking to death a mismatched chicken as soon as they see a blood spot...OH but it's all "playing"... I see.
You have quite a double-standard going there...
randommagnum 1 year ago
#2
And if Chickens actually DO "eat" blood from other chickens, they must either be starving or diseased since, from what I know, something like that does not happen. Double-standrad? Not much, but possibly a bit, because animals haven't caused me much harm, while humans have caused me a Hell's worth of pain. FEW?! THOUSANDS die each day and in total, probably over 100x our population have died because of our exploitation of other species since we evolved. What positive? Only for ourselves...
vgman94 1 year ago
@vgman94 Chickens aren't eating the blood; it's not for food. It's purely bloodthirsty behavior, and mob mentality. You've never heard of them doing that? I'm surprised to hear that from someone who has heard of "whale electrocution" (?) Furthermore, every other species on earth doesn't do ANYTHING for the benefit of any other species but its own...except for us, even though *most* of what we do is for ourselves. Before responding, think about that one really hard...
randommagnum 1 year ago
@randommagnum Maybe most species don't do good things for each other by INTENTION, but there is an equillibrium which feeds itself in a cycle. A cycle we have disrupted for nothing more than some safety and leisure, instead of trying to be a part of nature. Also, tell me, since you're such a lover of humans, what "good" have we done to the animal/natural world besides having some gardens & tending to cats & dogs? Which, btw, is much less than the damage we cause to every other ecosystem.
vgman94 1 year ago
@vgman94 Now finally, this idea you have about killing all humans to avenge the death of some animals that have been inhumanely killed is going to make many more wrongs and no rights. You use this sophistry about how much of an injustice "we" are, and yet you fail to see all of the positive things brought about by humanity. What's worse is that you talk as if you aren't included somehow...but ah, what can I say? You call it a crime to be human...well enjoy your punishment, FELLOW HUMAN.
randommagnum 1 year ago
The only positives we've brought is to ourselves. Maybe to cockrouchs and rats, but overall, we're pieces of shit. Admit it. I prefer not to think of myself as human (despite that I undeniably am) because the thought that I am the same type of creature that hits pigs for enjoyment, tears off the skin off seals by hand and leaves them alive with skin disgusts me to no end. And yet you fail to see how evil we truly and claim we've done some "good". Deforestation & Global Warming wouldn't agree.
vgman94 1 year ago
@vgman94 No we aren't pieces of shit, and yes, you are human...but this response here really shows how you are going wrong. You think of yourself as being the same thing that does cruel (and rightfully disgusting) things to animals, but it isn't you PERSONALLY who does that, right? To say that we are all that way is bigotry in the purest sense of the word.
I hate to say it, but you've let your animal rights activism take you somewhere it wasn't supposed to...it has clouded your perspective.
randommagnum 1 year ago
Am I not disgusted with myself personally, yes, since I would beat someone who was beating a cat into a bloody pool. Maybe so, but according to the great USA, the majority wins, right? And the fagtastic majority in this "great" country says that hunting is not cruel (despite foxes getting limbs torn off and 1 fox suffocating from ingesting dirt to get away from hunting dogs), animals are property, and that people are the most important. This nation has it all wrong... Along with the whole world.
vgman94 1 year ago
@vgman94 I can't believe you are 54 years old... 54 years of hypocrisy.
You are a hypocrite if you don't go out and feed yourself to a bear right now. You said that we are good for "meat for another species", so don't you dare try to make an exception for yourself, you SELF-RIGHTEOUS HYPOCRITE.
I guess I shouldn't expect you to listen or learn at 54...you'd reject anything I told you about humanity's virtues, given you attitude...it'd be a waste of time.
So, why not feed yourself to a bear?
randommagnum 1 year ago
It's a fake age. Jeez.
Also, you're avoiding a Q of mine: You say humanity has virtures, yet you haven't said WHAT...

vgman94 1 year ago
@vgman94 1). The way you talk, why would you have concern for the pain of a human? Oh, I know...because it's YOU, and you only care about yourself.
2). You could do it out in the forest, just like Timothy Treadwell. That's another cop-out, and the "wrong bear" theory eats itself too because according to you, even the bear that ate you is innocent.

As for the bear: He'd eat me for self-defense, food, mistaken attacker or wanting to save mean for later...
vgman94 1 year ago
@vgman94 First of all, you are a hypocrite for saying that hunting is forgivable if you need the meat. The human should willing die because all humanity is worthless, remember? They do it more often (relative to pop size) because they don't have laws or a society that overvalues it's own species. Yes, that means I condone murder in certain situations, but killing for no/small reasons is...

@vgman94
PM me if you feel more comfortable.
randommagnum 1 year ago

Can you understand this, sir?!
vgman94 1 year ago
@vgman94 Well again, you would dismiss everything I said was a virtue. I could talk about how humans, despite all they have done, have shown restraint when it comes to animals and the environment...I could talk about how many have saved and cared for animals...I could talk about humans at least trying to clean up some of their messes...
But you are so polarized, and you have such tunnel vision, you'd never acknowledge any of it.
randommagnum 1 year ago

Considering the inevitability of comet catastrophic comet collision or the potential total destruction of a wandering blackhole, why does this matter ? Even baring those non-terrestrial events there is the eventual 100% guarantee of supernova as our sun dies in a few billion years. What a few billion years for a few animals? preference of a natural extinction event to an anthropomorphic one is totally subjective and meaningless.
rayyf69 2 years ago
In addition, considering the infinite surface area of space non-sentient life has more to gain by risking extinction from humanity under the potential gain if humanity reaches sustainability and becomes space-faring and can seed other planets with life. Life would do well to endure massive losses now ( which will happen anyway) and hope that some marginal biophilia of human's is maintained.
rayyf69 2 years ago
We are children of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; we have a right to be here. And whether or not it's clear to us, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
As far as possible without surrender, fight on, for in this ever changing universe a unique race has risen to unravel timeless secrets. Such a race will come to protect life, not destroy it - it's easy to forget there have been 5 mass extinctions... life is lucky to exist - and now, we could be its only hope.

we have earned our ability to dominate other species. This is the entire point behind natural selection. I'm not being human-centric, I'm being nature-centric, because evolution is part of nature. Think of it this way: humans are at the top of the evolutionary chain. If humans die off, that will be breaking the evolutionary chain, and interrupting nature's progression."
This is truly stupid.

Humans dying out would do nothing negative to nature.
sacredcow25 2 years ago
Were at the top of the food chain, and if you look at history, whenever the main predator dies out, it's prey which is every other animal on this earth thrives. Well maybe your cute little kitty cats will die out, but you know I doubt even that, because cats and dogs can adapt, and they most likely would within a generation go back to hunting for themselves. No one would miss us, we would of left large box shaped buildings and toxic trash everywhere, what the fuck have we ever contributed?

vhemt is a great idea but i'd prefer to bring about human extinction involuntarily (i.e. genocide)
sqazsquat 2 years ago
I can just as easily argue that since we're the most intelligent species on earth (the one with the most advanced technology), we have earned our ability to dominate other species. This is the entire point behind natural selection. I'm not being human-centric, I'm being nature-centric, because evolution is part of nature. Think of it this way: humans are at the top of the evolutionary chain. If humans die off, that will be breaking the evolutionary chain, and interrupting nature's progression.
ArcadianGenesis 2 years ago
This is a point that Naturalists often ignore; they assume humans to be divorced from nature somehow. This is so obviously false as demonstrated by the many efforts to suspend physical laws or to replace economic law with force (that in particular has lead to the great many authoritarian disasters and i believe this current global contraction also).
rayyf69 2 years ago
I don't know any naturalists who believe this, and I certainly don't. I am aware that humans are domesticated primates. But that should not detract from our creation of domestricated-primate tools: modern technology. The reason for the current global contraction is that we have a monetary-based, rather than a resource-based, economy. (That, and the system was designed to fail from the start.)
ArcadianGenesis 2 years ago 5
If naturalists don't believe humans are somehow separate from nature then why do Naturalists lament humans destructive actions yet do not address natural destructive events like land bridges opening and allowing migration of generalists that destroy endemics ? Or the total loss of non-terrestrial extinction events, comets , black holes supernova ? Humans are just playing their natural role in the universe nothing more.
rayyf69 2 years ago
I'm not sure we're talking about the same thing. I'm talking about naturalism, the philosophy that all phenomena can be explained in terms of natural causes and laws. None of what you said necessarily follows from this.
ArcadianGenesis 2 years ago
On economy, my point was Keynesian dogma tries to command nature or ignore true savings and dictate what is the savings rate sending false signals to the market which direct capital into investment channels that are not sound or sustainable. Regardless of what is used for "money" oil, electron potential, paper specie , or precious metals value is subjective and cannot be dictated by force without consequences violating the boundaries of economic law and suffering penalties.

yupiie 1 year ago
What I posted was supposed to be the tail of a URL to a film called "Zeitgeist Addendum." This documentary explains why the world monetary system was designed to create perpetual debt and class stratification.
To summarize, the Federal Reserve Bank was created illegally in a secret meeting of four Senators and President Harry Truman. A document called "Modern Money Mechanics" was written, which laid out the capitalistic principles by which the monetary system is controlled.
ArcadianGenesis 1 year ago
Specifically, the creation of money is identical with the creation of debt. This debt is continuously placed on the lower and middle classes to the advantage of the upper class, effectively enslaving the masses to the few rich elites.
ArcadianGenesis 1 year ago
@ArcadianGenesis hey, thanks for that ! =) I actually saw that part of the documentary, I have it in my faves. Yeah, the system is made to fall apart. POor human race. =\

Humans are naturally evolved from this earth. Therefore, voluntary human extinction would be acting *contrary* to nature. This is just one reason among many why this philosophy is an epic fail.
ArcadianGenesis 2 years ago
According to survival of the fittest, why try to stop or promote any extinction?
quemacha 3 years ago
survival of the fittest is obsolete with present-day technology. (as is social darwinism)
riah91amw 3 years ago
This is completely false. Survival of the fittest will kick in once we begin our journey off the planet earth into space migration. When humans are the only species advanced enough to migrate off the planet, then we'll survive while other species will not. That is natural selection at work in a new way. Also, don't try to hide behind the technology argument, because technology is also part of nature. Machines are still made of the same fundamental particles that we are. VHEMT is a failure.

This is an idea of complete idiocy! Instead of instinction, why not look for solutions? All this is, is giving up, and it will never work. I am tired of people coming up with demonic solutions to my world, please keep this insanity to yourself!
Dc328 3 years ago
What good is the existence of nature without the existence of a consciousness capable of perceiving it's beauty? Complete human extinction isn't necessary. The banksters that run the world will kill 80 to 90% of us soon enough; which will solve the environmental issue. Anyway, human existence (conscious existence), is the anti-natural element and a necessary one. Nature inevitably evolves into the anti-natural in order to transcend itself.
Psychogenius018 3 years ago
I support VHEMT. Because people who have the view that humans have to be extinct to make the world a better place, probably shouldnt have kids. You guys must be pissed at your parents! What were they thinking? I mean, come on, your group are clearly sane and reasonable people!

Frobe77 3 years ago
I don't think VHEMT thinks far enough; instead of just encouraging people not to breed, which doesn't stop people from doing so, VHEMT should instead put something in the water supply that makes people sterile. That would solve the whole thing!
Lappalingur 3 years ago
We reach a virgin area, we start to multiply quickly. We spend all resources, the area dies. And we head to another area.
The virus does the same with living beings.
That's why we are a VIRUS.
sleirylover 3 years ago
The problem with the whole "mankind is a virus" argument is that we, unlike actual viruses, are capable of enjoying our existence. I really enjoy living, and I want others to be able to enjoy living in the future. This argument alone destroys yours. But there are many more.
