Jesus Christ it is beautiful, only a true master at his craft could make this happen, Just makes u want to cry when you think about the futility of war and the stupidity and bravery of Marine Devil Dogs at Bellieau Wood. Just makes you want to shoot the top off that bottle of champage and enjoy what life is left with your heroic friends. Maybe find some women and head for Pigalle or something. This tune can drive u crazy with sentimentality and acoutic resonace with the heart......
Paris 11/3 1954. avec André Réwéliotty et son Orchestre. Guy Longnon tpt Marcel Bornstein cnt Jean-Louis Derand tb André Rëwéliotty cl Sidney Bechet sop Yannic Singery p Zozo d'Halluin b Michel Pacout dm
Absolutely fabulous!!! I love this swinging version of this beautiful old WWI song and Sidney Bechet's soprano sax is sensational - a really first rate recording!

The composer is Hayden Wood who omitted the "e" in his first name because he liked Joseph Haydn but he has nothing to do with him.
