Im from Australia and have always wanted to live in the USA. For me id LOVE to live in Chicago becuase its beautiful, Not as big as LA and NY but still big enough and the people there look really friendly! i cant wait to visit and eventually live there :P

Chicago is as large as it is in land area because it was built to handle a way larger population than it currently has. Unfortunately, Chicago's population has been declining for years now. Philadelphia is a great city. Boston is also a very urban city. I'm not trying to fight, I'm just saying. LA with the exception of Venice Beach is the lamest place I've been though.

@jaja4408 , Chicago has 2,986,974 people according to 2008 American Community Survey and only has 227 sq mi, Boston has 645,169 on 89 sq mi.I got both numbers from the 2008 American Community Survey, i don't trust the guesstimates of the U.S cenus, they predicted Chicago would lose ppl in the 90s, but they were wrong, Chicago grew.Same thing again they're predicting Chicago has lost people when it clearly has gained people, i would say 100,000-200,000 more ppl in Chicago.

I live in Kansas city, MO unfortunately and I took a weekend trip to Chicago for the first time. I got to say this city made me stand in awe at how much stuff there was to do. All the people, events, nightlife, shops etc.. The transportation is fantastic! No car needed! And the food don't even get me started. I'm from LA and I've lived in Chicago for 4 years while going to U of Chicago. I also lived in New York when I got a job there. NY is a great global city, but CHICAGO is also a great global city. In Chicago , you've got the skyline, the architecture, The CHICAGO Cubs, the TASTE of CHICAGO, the BEST Pizza in the world, the Lake, The River, DA BEARS!, The museums, etc. Should I keep going? I mean, NY is great, but CHICAGO has everything it has and more. An unbiased opinion of a Cali boy.

NYC is big and fancy but you meet some real assholes over there. LA is crowded, unkempt and has no culture. Phoenix is fine except for the fact that its in the middle of a desert 500 miles from East Bumblefuck. Houston is filled with wannabee cowboys, sluts and illegals. Philly is fine for history but nothing ever happens there nowadays so fuck it.
Chicago is the REAL American city, in the Midwest and on a great lake. Built on cuisine,culture etc. Can't beat Chi-town!

Chicago is as large as it is in land area because it was built to handle a way larger population than it currently has. Unfortunately, Chicago's population has been declining for years now. Philadelphia is a great city. Boston is also a very urban city. I'm not trying to fight, I'm just saying. LA with the exception of Venice Beach is the lamest place I've been though.

@jaja4408 , Chicago has 2,986,974 people according to 2008 American Community Survey and only has 227 sq mi, Boston has 645,169 on 89 sq mi.I got both numbers from the 2008 American Community Survey, i don't trust the guesstimates of the U.S cenus, they predicted Chicago would lose ppl in the 90s, but they were wrong, Chicago grew.Same thing again they're predicting Chicago has lost people when it clearly has gained people, i would say 100,000-200,000 more ppl in Chicago.

It's called the "2nd City" because Chicago burned down in the Great Fire and was built again hence the 2nd time dumb-ass not because it's the 2nd largest city. That's LA.And I don't think by Chicago being the murder cap for 7 out of the last 10 years that it's that quiet. It's open 24 hours.And I don't really care about partying like that anyway. Southern California obviously has huge air pollution problems, it's extremely over-populated, and you have used up almost all of your water supply. I live in Kansas city, MO unfortunately and I took a weekend trip to Chicago for the first time. I got to say this city made me stand in awe at how much stuff there was to do. All the people, events, nightlife, shops etc.. The transportation is fantastic! No car needed! And the food don't even get me started. I love Chicago and I'm moving out of this dump to upgrade my life. Thank you.

I'm from LA and I've lived in Chicago for 4 years while going to U of Chicago. I also lived in New York when I got a job there. NY is a great global city, but CHICAGO is also a great global city. In Chicago , you've got the skyline, the architecture, The CHICAGO Cubs, the TASTE of CHICAGO, the BEST Pizza in the world, the Lake, The River, DA BEARS!, The museums, etc. Should I keep going?
