@gailcute1996 well she has a weak body, much like her mother, so yes she gets sick a lot, been in hospital more than a few times due to over work. Cold and flue is common and she often has to sing suffering from them. Also her voice gets husky if she speaks for a long time..ie as in acting..she need a few week between acting and singing to get her voice back

@ Draconla The last time I checked taiwanese and mandarin chinese are not the same thing. A person in taiwan can speak perfect taiwanese but not know mandarin chinese (most likely a person of an older generation). or he or she could speak fluent mandarin but not know much taiwanese. Taiwanese is a dialect in taiwan.

When you say Taiwanese I'm guessing you mean someone who identifies as Taiwanese if they were born in Taiwan and grew up with the culture. But the taiwanese language is not mandarin chinese. It varies from place to place in Taiwan cities of who can speak mandarin based on their background. Like Mainlanders (people who are born in China and move to Taiwan).

There are a lesser percentage of Mainlanders in taiwan who speak taiwanese b.c. their native language is not taiwanese but perhaps another chinese dialect language from mainland China. Also if you look at other ethnic groups in taiwan like Hakka or Hoklo chinese people they have their own native languages, too. Like Hakka (or Kejiahua) for Hakka people and Hokkien or Fujianhua) for Hoklo people. Not to mention aboriginal people who have their own native aboriginal language.

Before 1945 in taiwan the official language was Japanese because taiwan was under the rule of Japan. some people who are now elderly from that time can speak fluent japanese. i'm not too clear about the prominence of mandarin before 1945 but it's obvious since it wasn't being taught in schools then not a whole lot of people knew how to speak it yet (which makes me guess they used taiwanese to communicate more then?).

That's probably because they edit it and do stuff to make their voices sound smoother and nicer. (it's just a guess.) and the guy (Alec Su) get's lots of flowers because he's well known for the chinese and Jang Nara is well known mostly in Korea. (most of this is assumption though.)
