A 120hz HDTV can't keep up with how fast the game moves. It has nothing to do with "skillz", but a lack of playtesting that has produced a slew of bad Sonic games this past generation and a half.
I played through 4 stages. You can't see what you are doing half the time and are just going with the flow. Fast can be fun, but too fast is frustrating and confusing.

Not so far. The game's too fast pace makes it more like an interactive light show than an action/adventure.
