@DrippinSauceGaming@nerii3 Do a couple 360's spinning around on the snow first and pay attention to how your body (specifically your core) stays tight and together. When you do a 180, you take off and rotate mostly your lower body 180 degrees while looking down the fall line, to do a 360 you need to lead with your upper body and finish looking back up the hill! I like to point back up the hill with my back hand to ensure that my shoulders rotate all the way around, your lower body will follow.
I can 360 on small jumps, but when it comes to bigger jumps I can't get them. I feel like my problem is I'm not rotating quick enough. Is there a trick to rotating faster?
@staannley Make sure that you keep all the same foundations for the trick the same. Stay relaxed and do a proper set up carve, leave the lip straight with no pre-spin and keep your core tight as you rotate. Usually feeling like you're not rotating fast enough is a result of missing one of these steps. Good luck!
@snowboardaddiction Is there actually a technique to rotating faster? Because when you did the 7, your rotation was much faster than when you did the 3.
@staannley Spinning quickly on a snowboard is all about how efficient you can be! Although a 720 will use slightly more wind up than a 360 it's more about how well you can transfer the energy you create with a wind up and set up turn through your body from your shoulders to your board. Keeping your core strong, and releasing at the right moment as you leave the lip (when you still have an edge to push off of but you're board is about to become weightless) will help you spin faster.
hey man i really love the video, i can back 3 on flat and on a side hit but when i get to jump i seem to lean back to much, and i spin a sort of corked 270 and land on my butt, should i be looking at the snow and turning my head right before i take off?
@dragmanWHAT If you can back 3 on flat and off of side hits you're off to a good start. I think that you are pre spinning a bit as you leave straight jumps and as a result leaning into the lip too much to ensure that you don't catch your heels. Try to make sure that you are completely straight as you leave the lip of the jump. Make sure that you pop up and don't absorb the lip and that you initiate your spin on a flat axis with your elbows/shoulders. Hope that helps!
@alabaska182 Thanks for the input! Rodeos are in our lineup for the future but it has not yet been produced. Stay tuned, and keep an eye open for our frontflip/backflip tutorial that will be released in the next couple months.
@snowboardaddiction Cool sounds good! Your spin video helped me a lot, The key part I was missing was when you talked about one setup turn. What a difference that made lol. Thanks again!
@MoogCity Skateboarding will definitely help your snowboarding. The biggest difference will be adding a set up carve on your board so you can initiate the spin from your edges. Let us know how it goes!
It's really doable on small side hits but whenever I approach a big jump and am going up the lip it's so intimidating to be lifted this high in the air that it breaks my courage and I don't dare to spin. Also it takes a lot going over a jump with your back facing downhill and you don't know where you are going while in the air...
@hackebeil20 You'll get comfortable on the big jumps as you ride more. Be patient and gradually work your way up by hitting slightly bigger jumps each time!
@barnboy15 Both are about equal in difficulty, some riders find BS easier and some find FS easier. Work on the one you are most comfortable with first. Good luck!
im haveing trouble attatching grabs to my spins... like even in 180s. how do i get the board back up to me so i dont have to reach for my grabs causing partial cork to face
@zp9898 Try practising some grabs on straight airs and really focus on bringing your board up to your hand instead of bending down to reach your board. When you're spinning, bending over at the waist to reach a grab can put you off axis causing your partial cork to face. Good luck!
@iamthelordish Try to stand up tall and strong as you are leaving the lip, don't let yourself pre-spin. If you grab, make sure to bring the board UP to you as opposed to bending over to grab it. These are all common errors that cause a rider to land in the back seat. Hope that helps!
@MrMantasMX Yeah, its actually kinda hard if your a beginner, haha, it looks so easy, but its take time. i landed my first one, but couldn't get another set so i gave up and my butt was hurting after i fell like 10 feet on my butt from before.
i live in il i nee a chouch i want to go pro i know every kid says that but i will never give up i want to learn 360 vack flip i have watched all the vids what do i do
snowboarding is actually harder than it looks... well duh i thought i could snowboard really well but before you go snowboarding, practice on a ripstick i dont have one but it would help cause one of my friends has one and i use it all the time P.S. toeside is scary
i love the jumps like the ones in this video. at my mountain they are like these ones, but this weekend i was at my friends place and the jumps in the park were like quarter pipes. really annoying
@RobinFBS That sucks man, I broke my ankle in september 09, like the outside bone, it was like an 8mm displacement, so i got a plate in there now, and in February that followed i learned how to snowboard! my injury probably wasn't as serious as yours though.
@thesims227 Yeah but they're really the dumb ones for not thinking to maybe try and visualize what the heck is going to happen in the air and end up falling on their faces
@toymachine135 move to vancouver bc. only 20 min from 3 local mountains and just over an hour to whistler. seriously if you love outdoors sports, do it. I did.
Thanks you so much. this is the only video that really explains every aspect of the trick. I couldnt' figure out what my problem was but since you covered every part of the move i figured out what i was doing wrong! cant wait to hit the slopes and tryit out! thanks again. if i want to learn more tricks ur the first person ill come to
the only bad thing about this videos is that i'm always watching them AFTER i went snowboarding and i have to wait a whole year till i can go again and now i have to wait again a whole year :'(
I recently landed a 360 after launching off the side of a traverse, I threw my arms up in celebration and accidentally caught my front edge, and again landed on my face.
DEFINITELY get your back 1's down first, I haven't gotten a back 3 yet, but I've been nailing my back 1's, and lemme tell you, I'm glad I didn't just shoot for the 3 right away, cause it took me awhile to get those 1's down good. Trust me.
When I spin I always keep my legs straight, which I dont want to do. I look like a big stupid. I tried doing grabs to force myself not to do it but I still do it. Anyone got any tips?
@The7ZERO4 dude , i do the same thing and for some reason i can't stop ... so anyway one time i just concentrated on grabbing (indy) and i forgot to spin ... i freking landed on my head from 5 meters or so up :D
