Hey, did they ever discover what caused his death? I read somewhere that his death was under investigation and then no one ever mentione it another time.
@TheMidnightBell07 They never really said, but he had a disease called acromegalia and there are many things from the disease that can cause complications and lead to death, so im assuming thats probably what happened.
@RetroGirl85 - He died of cardiac arrest while sleeping. A neighbor of his was told that by his brother. He was found by his brother dead in bed. There was no foul play though he didn't tell the media the cause of death.
It came as a pleasant surprise to me some months ago to learn that Paul Benedict had played the "Mad Painter" on Sesame Street, a character I remembered fondly.
@Akira625 I've only watched The Jeffersons a few times and I'm sure he altered his vocie since I believed his character on the show was British but since I'm sure the voice we heard on the SS number painter films was his, he sure sounds different that he sounds here.
Thanks, made me smile, just like he used to do back in the day. Bless 'im, he looked and sounded pretty darn good here, considering I hadn't seen him in ages. Rest well knowing you will be missed, Paul.
No better time for comedies than the 70's/early 80's (except I <3 LUCY, of course). All timeless! Thanks for the memories Mr. Bendict/Mr. Bentley!!

He looks gorgeous.

It's truly astonishing how convincing his portrayal of Britishness was in the Jeffersons, because this sounds like he's acting American here.
He really must have been a true blue gentleman though. He'll always be the mad painter to me.
