  • My uncle was a marine tank crewman on one of the 8 flame tanks that were used on Iwo. The few stories he told of the battle were pretty horrific. What a terrible war that ended the lives of so many men. And to the survivors, who were forever changed by the trauma they faced, you sacrificed much. RIP to the lost and the dead.

  • ulz burned yellow monkeys

  • I feel sad for the soldiers that had to face such a horrible weapon of war. May thay rest in peace. Tragic waste of life.

  • @IamtheAlienator - LOL, you're a pussy.

  • Fuck i wanna smoke and I can't find the stupid zippo lighter...

  • america brought democracy in Japan with flame throwers and atomic bombs :)

  • One of most horrible and inhumane weapons ever.

  • jewish bullsheet made in jewSA. They killed Kennedy; Mac CArthy was right. Americans are now the salves of the jews, as Russian were in the Soviet-JewNion. Take the country back and close the jewish abortionfactorys for White Americans!Clean the USA for those bastards!88!

  • Damn wwii is pure destruction

  • War is hell ONLY when YOU and YOUR side dies or maimed or gets captured and tortured. Otherwise, it is fun as hell. I don't see what the complaint is.

Bombs, guns, flamethrowers: they just move atoms around.

I have ZERO negative feelings about killing and torturing someone who oppresses me or others who don't deserve to be oppressed.

If you don't like me flamethrowing an enemy, then just sit down and rationally explain your disagreement. Settle it in a debate.

  • @mphello have you been in a war?

  • @yaketysaks No. And I don't have to to have a strong opinion about it. Same way people have strong opinions about the law, which imprisons people, even though they have never been in prison.

  • I WANT A FREAKIN' AWESOME FLAME-THROWER LIKE THIS!

Gonna go after anti-socialists, manmade global warming deniers, anti-vegans and other animal torturers, and religious fanatics (mostly christians, muslims, scientologists, but depends upon the situation who is the oppressor: I defend the oppressed), banksters and corporate CEOs who live off gov't welfare.

  • fried japanese are allways a nice sight. to hell with japs.

  • I like my japs crispy

  • ''Burn motherfuckers, burn!''

    xD

  • Dear Santa.

Please give people here on YouTube something to comment about so they can stop saying the same things all over again, thanks.

  • Sad, but that is the way it has to be done. By the manual.

  • those JAPS butt's sure are TOASTED!

  • Leave Them in Ashes! Respect the Flame!

  • I suppose the one good thing about this weapon is that according to historians the enemy often surrendered at the mere sight of a tank mounted flamethrower so they didn't have to be used a lot of the time, it gave the user a psychological advantage more than anything.

  • One of the most horrible weapons in history

  • It smells like... victory!

  • @zappina Clearly you havent fought in a war and clearly you dont have any experience in war. You are probably some puck ass kid who smoke pot all day not giving a shit about your country! Hell maybe next time when we dont have any tactics left in war well send your ass out there and Ill record your ass being blown to shit! :) Fucking Hippie...

  • @etgil1794 Nope, lol, Im not a hippie and not smoking weed. I have a good job so i dont need to get more hole on my body than what god gave me. But you can go and take your chances if you want, so you can die for someone who dont give a shit about you. Just one more dead soldier to the statistics and another sad family, sure its worth it. I will answer to the call of war if and when my country will be under attack. So i guess you need to w8 a long time before you can record my ass

  • ahh, the flamethrower. The very last way I would want to die in combat.

  • the japanese apparently would go crazy on the flamethrower guy if they saw him, it was worth getting shot if you could prevent being burnt to death apparently, makes sense, as in seriously, every one of them would stop shooting anything but you

  • Lovely......the flamethrowers are more effective in breaking morale i guess. But surely it leave its mark not only on those who are suffer the burns, but on those who use the weapon as well. Hearing long deathscreams and the smell of the burning flesh can make very bad memories amongst the soldiers on both sides.

  • soldier 1: whats for dinner soldier 2: overcooked tojo :)

  • I wish me this tank in Battlefield 3

  • FIRE!! FIRE!! FIRE!!!!

  • Aren't we humans just lovely?

  • Those zombies are gonna fry real good on Call Of Duty Nazi Zombies

  • Holy shit that guys got a flamethrower!

That's okay, we've got guns, and he's about 300 yards awaaaAAAYAYAYYYYYYYY!!!!! IT BUUURRRRNNNSSS!!!!!

  • just the japanese? fuck, i think any infantry would be scared of one of those things

  • Did you know that the Japanese infantry wher afraid of flamethrowers?

  • "if we cant dig 'em out, we deafen them with loud presumptuous classical style music"

  • @trje246 Brilliant comment and true too - isn't the visual drama enough for them?!

  • @trje246 they would just need to use linkin park, lil wayne, and justin bieber to flush them out.

  • "Can you light my cigarette? "

  • 1:03 onwards...

  • Damn it must have sucked bein one of those guys carryin those things. All that weight and all that heat. I was readin With The Old Breed and there was a part where Sledge and his buddies were comparing the roles of a marine and I think they all agreed that being a flame thrower guy was the worst of all the jobs, then I think they said being an assualt guy was the second worst, not sure though.

  • wtf is the deal with the dear santa comments.

I can tell you , you dont want to kill another human with a flamethrower unless you want to have nightmares every night

  • @fallout111111 Agreed. The flamethrower is the most cruel weapon and dangerous even to those who wield it. One bullet in the tanks and you will feel what the enemy is felt. I suffered 3rd degree burn once(not from flamethrower of course) and it was incredebly painful.

  • @Zappina yea i know think about crawling up to an enemy bunker with that heavy thing on without getting shot.

My heart would be up in my throat

  • I still don’t understand why they are not afraid of BIG flames at those Japanese restaurants today.

  • YEY

  • When we can't get them out.... we BURN em out! FWSSSHHHHHH MWAHAHAHA

  • They figured out early on that the grunts couldn't carry much fuel in their backpack flamethrowers, so the big brains said, hey, let's attach a big trailer full of fuel to the back of a tank and let THEM DO THE JOB!! It worked great, until the Germans and Japs figured out how to shoot little rockets at the trailers (which WEREN'T ARMORED) and blow the whole thing to heaven and back - generally taking out a few of us and them in the process.

  • This is when we could actually fight a war, not having to worry about if its "Humane" or not. Total bs!

    SEMPER FI

    USMC!

  • @Bandanabandito1 I bet if the enemy would use it against you, that would be inhumane and a war crime yes? Seeing your fellow soldier is burning crispy like some hamburger meat in a barbecue party is your desire? Every time you roast meat you would see that soldier's burned face with his eyes wide open in pain as he yells help me is not a good thing. It can give you some nice nightmares every night.

  • @Zappina we've been set on fire by nazis, oh and all's fair in love and war

  • @waffle1997 Well the nazis didnt even need to use flamethrowers.....shermans did a very good job when they hit. They called the shermans tommy cookers for a reason. Personally i dont think you think the same if you would be the one who is get burned by this weapons.

  • they should add that for plane ^^ in close combat they shit fire :D

  • im makin a claim tht the tank flamethrower part is bullshit- no flamethrower can go more than 100 yards

    thats so fake

look closely...too far to be real

  • @seismicblade3 !! Of course they can!! Early war flamethrowers had a range of 25m late war 30+. The ones mounted on tanks and vehicles on both axis and allied were even more pressurised and had a range of up to 50-80m

They actually fire a pressurised liquid which is burning not a flame. Early ones used a petrol-tar mix was used to give it a heavier property and hence an extended range.

Type in google "FmW 35" = 25metre range or "Flamethrower, Portable, No 2" = 36 metre range

    Hope this helps.

  • jewish BBQ! 1$!!!

  • so thats what dragons look like if they exist

  • thats so dangerous...

  • HAHAHA fried rice *japs* anyone eh hem

  • is this real ww2 or is it from a movie

  • @detijdVLOGD real just edited to color :)

  • @saltman90 do you have the original one? oh and dead body's usually have a black skin but thats just a minor detail

  • @detijdVLOGD

What with the platitude, Mr. "I've torched a whole bunch of people with flame throwers" guy?

  • @saltman90 oh wait you aren't the owner of this movie sorry my bad

  • Fuckin eeh we should be using that shit in Afghanistan too!!

  • TheMaseratiMusik... hey... the flame tanks were around in ww2... based on the british churchill tank.. the flame thrower version was dubbed the crocodile. the fule and nitrogen propellant was carried in an armored trailer...

  • Dear Santa....

  • @iVolcomTV LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @iVolcomTV Wow your comment is so funny, i haunt seen that 1000 times on every weapon related video before...

  • Inhumane but terrifying and effective. It was said many japanease soldiers surrendered just because of this weapon. Possibly my favorite weapon ever. Could you imagine what we could have transformed that thing into today if we put time and money into it.

  • @Zachbro39 napalm?

  • @Zachbro39

It was mainly a "phycologic" weapon, with many dangerous limits (short lasting, dangerous exposition of the user, etc.).

Very dangerous for the user, too.

  • Dear Santa...

  • im not a history guru or nothing but i really thought the flamethrower and the flame tanks started in Vietnam

  • @TheMaseratiMusik

They started back in WWI to counter early Tanks and to clear out trenches...with mixed results.

  • @TheMaseratiMusik You're correct. You're not a history buff.

  • Whoa i wouldnt wear that thing.. If it catches a stray bullet.. Boom no more me..

  • in finland we call this sauna.

  • Well, wars have deff changed over the years....

  • FIRE!!!!!!

  • Such a nasty weapon

  • im impressed by how there are guy available to take videos during a war..

  • could be shot after the fight, torched some dead soldiers for the camera, the tanks are from an airplane that is real. i think

  • why not use that in afganistan? :)

  • @svart3f Obsolete and inhumane.

  • @svart3f Outlawed by The Geneva Convention

  • did you guys watch the flame throwing tank that thing is a beast

  • the video is 1:23

  • @woutvsas huh?

  • Dear Santa...

  • ... sherman cocodrile reporting ...

  • I don't think santa can bring me this one...

  • movie rated O ... OMFG :))))

  • The best part about the flamethrowers was that they didnt throw fire. They threw streams of gelatin goo that would stick to the skin and clothes or material it hit and burned slowly and dripped all over the place. That shit was rough. most people think it just shot regular fire out of it......NOPE! its just like napalm id guess. they only way to get a Jap outta its hole

  • @bradleytreseler damn straight. But even if it didn't hit you directly in a confined space like a cave you'd still die. because the fire would suck up all the oxygen...

  • looks more like a multimelta

  • thats what you get for owning a machine gun and placing it behind cover HAHAAAA

  • DEAR SANTA....

  • @blackprealis fuck of!

  • Heck this isn't brutal...you wan't brutal think of waterloo or antitem. THAT was brutal.

  • @GrigoriZhukov Spell Correction: Antietam

  • @Butternut731863 awww don't get all bent out of shape reb. Most of these children couldn't tell the difference between little round top and seminary ridge. Much less a Lemat from a Colt.

  • @GrigoriZhukov Yeah :)

    Take care

  • This is horrible :(

How can so many people watch this and comment about it like it's a video game?!

  • @Butternut731863 that's war kid and that's just one of many ways to deal with it...

  • The main intended purpose of the flame thrower was not to burn people, but to ignite cave and bunker entrances, sucking all the air out of the bunkers and caves. Most died from suffocation.

  • Looks like it's shooting lava.

  • We use white phosphorous now. Less dangerous more lethal.

  • @Ak47warz I heard at the last second someone stark to speak. Is this part of a documentary? If so what is the name of it? thanks, great vid btw

  • I love the smell of bacon in the morning

  • wow, i guess 20 people (at the time of this post) lost their humanity and are totally blind, stupid fuckers.

  • The U.N has condemned their use though.

  • ah,nothing like the smell of baked jap in the mornin'

  • hmmm now imagine using the flamethrower in Afghanistan for the mountains?

  • @xhaloplayerx thats exactly what we should do, but the US army is too pussy to do that

  • @justinjacques766

    its not quite practical.

considering that around 100 meters is "danger close" today, they wouldnt be too effective. flamethrower range being about 50-80 meters.

they were great when combat was close up and personal like WWII, but not so much nowadays.

except for flushing out caves, they would be fantastic for that. but i would think we would want to capture the cave complex rather than destroy it... possibility of obtaining intelligence:

    prisoners and otherwise

  • @corporateCoffee i meant the flame throwing tanks

  • @justinjacques766

    ah.

Id guess politics prevent the use of such weapons. too destructive. especially against an a largely unidentifiable enemy. dont wanna cook the innocents in the process :/

  • @justinjacques766

isn't it marines? my bad if am mistaken but yeah your right, but flamethrower are kinda unsafe to use, it might kill one Taliban, but for one it might cost us 2 men for that

  • @xhaloplayerx It's not really that we'd lose men... it's that it seems a bit primitive.

  • @joetman123

is cause it's just to inhumane to die that way that we stopped using is it that why?

  • @xhaloplayerx i say that use the most effective wepons iin war that is very effective

  • got a light?

  • bad movie, cause its like a movie

  • oh guys, i smell the shrimp on the Barbie lol XD.

  • if we cant dig em out, we burn em out! this is psycotic

  • this is what you call. fight fire with fire.

  • amazing

  • My late ex-father in law commanded a tank platoon equipped with these at Guam, the Philippines, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa. His tanks would wait until the Japanese anti-tank guns and artillery had been neutralized, usually by naval artillery and aircraft, then move up to their caves and pillboxes and pour liquid fire into them from point-blank range. Our infantry would then wait until the flames died down before securing the caves.

It beat having our infantry assault them over open ground.

  • movie rated B , for BRUTAL

  • @sewagedweller either that, or badass :)

  • @SkinnySlimJim not sure about bad ass , but im quite sure i saw a piece of friend ass

  • The Japanese prefer death to surrender. We respect their wish.

  • @darko714 Thats because they were filled with propaganda.

  • I've got some weeds in my garden that need sorted, anyone got flametank's number?

  • In WW2 the Russians would walk into captured German first aid stations tell them anyone who could walk get out then they would have a man with one of those bad boys(Flamethrower)cook them breakfast

    Russian soldier 1: Wheres breakfast>

Russian soldier 2: Anyone up for some Kraut Bacon?

Russian soldier 3: Tastes funny where did you get it?

Russian soldier 1: Oh uhhhhh the Krauts gave it to me!

  • pcazzB i only smell jap bacon made from japineese people XD

  • looks like this footage was taken from a helicopter.

But... There weren't really helicopters in WW2... This is from a movie probably.

  • @Darbyjack sorry but you are wrong, Flettner Fl 282 - german reco helicopter (1941) and Sikorsky R-4 usaaf helicopter (1942) was used for saving pilots in birma.

  • @Darbyjack The film was most likely taken from Navy observation aircraft.

  • i WANT ONE NOW

  • @demonoid47

i was going to post exact your statement, but now i just thumbed yours up. :D

  • @demonoid47 i'm getting one for my birthday :D

  • @H4L0K1LL4 ಠ_ಠ

  • The reason they outlawed weapons like the vacuum bomb and flame throwers is one, because its cruel yes, but its war at the end of the day. The joys of war. The main reason is because civillians can't take cover from them. You use either weapon in a building with few windows or a cave and you'll run out of oxygen. In the vacuum bombs case it'll crush your organs.....not pretty but it does the job.

  • @deceiver02 Flamethrowers are not outlawed... The US removed them from their arsenal completely voluntarily, Think you will also find that vacuum bombs are still employed, and have been used in Afghanistan by British forces. If the scenario arose where flamethrowers were useful, then they would be re-employed and used. That is it.

  • @habibi1213 I know they're still in use. The hellfire missile on the apaches is a type of vacuum bomb. Same with Nukes. They're outlawed but Britains still spending billions on new nuclear submarines. I don't know whether flamethrowers we're removed volunterily from the US but they arn't useless. In Afghan the even 50.cal anti armour rounds won't get through the mud huts but they will tank armour. A flamer would clear them out easily. There would be a lot of collateral mind due lol

  • @deceiver02 Lol, a giant amount of collateral. Nukes are kind of similar, the nuclear proliferation act prevents their launch into the upper atmosphere, however if a situation arose where that was necessary, guess what would happen.

Problem with flammers is the loss of mobility - although mounted on tanks in theoretical tactics they would be useful for the mentioned cause. However, it would hurt the p.r. campaign, which was the main reason why they were removed to begin with.

  • I want that tank! just in a smaller size... for my bithday, then a can crush the little boys' rc tanks xD

  • theres nothing better than the smell of roast gooks in the morning.... well,.. maybe the smell of roasting mountain monkeys in afghanistan.

  • Well...that certainly wasn't sushi.

  • 09.05.1945

  • Damn, that truly has to be the most Metal War-Machine I've ever seen... Both side fought Had and well, but yeah.....PcazzoB I smell the bacon too!

  • this is so bad ass. would u try to stop drop and roll?

  • @halfdeadjp

I would probably not have time to.. seeing that there is a scary army dude hurling

    fire balls at me..

  • Che brutta morte ...why,why??

  • for whomever finds this video cruel.. obviously does not realize the impact this had on the history of the world. life is cruel

  • thumbs up for flamer tanks :P

  • i love how the same quote is in WaW.

    stoked on this!

  • They outlawed flame throwers in war. They consider it cruel. Having a bomb blow up and take someone's leg off or worse and not kill them is kill too. No one has outlawed bombs.

War is war. There are no rules.

  • now thats how you fight a war

  • FUCK YEAH!!!!!! THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA WILL ALWAYS KICK ASS!!!!!!!!!!

  • the japs dont like it up em!!!

  • democracy is a terrible form of government, but its the best one we've got.

  • @Theorama11 I agree that Democracy is a bad form of government, but what makes you think the US is a democracy? Repeat the Pleadge of Allegance.

.... and to the Republic for which it stands..... We have a Republic, a Constitutional Republic; as a form of government, to be correct. The Liberals want you to beleive it is a democracy so then it will be easier to switch to a socialist state.

  • @Bill1405 Democracy is the worst form of government except for all the others.

  • WARCRIME

  • @PLYSssss go suck some balls.

  • @PLYSssss you want to know about war crimes? read about what the japs did to the chinese civlians during the invasion of china, you uneducated fool.

  • @PLYSssss You have to understand that the japanese were a suicidal enemy. The wounded japanese would act like they needed help and US medics would come up to aid them and they would blow themselves up with the marines around them. These flamethrowers helped get those japanese out of those tough places like caves, holes, pillboxes. This helped because the japanese wouldnt surrender. You want to look into WARCRIMES, look into the torture the Japanese did to POW's.

  • we should start using these again.
