  • HDR widens the brightness range of each colour so you can get far more shades of black and have very bright areas that are bright without lossing the detail. Real HDR works from a 3D surface but older HDR is only added to bloom post effects which can make the image blurry. You need a LCD panal with a very high contrast ratio to really see the effect a video cannot show it's true effect.

  • how much would his save/cost, fps wise?

  • Great video, I've been experimenting with HDR for a while, and I was pretty sure I thought things looked better without HDR - now I am sure of it.

  • @tbsalh90 thanks !

  • What is HDR and does Nvidia 570 gtx have enough to run hdr?

  • @Ilissill High dynamic range, and yes.

  • do you need a really good graphics card to run this game smooth ? Do you recommend something ?

    Thanks !

  • @nathie97 Yes, and a great cpu. You need at least a 1gb video card and a quad core 2.6

  • Hmmmm, you get to fly an A10 that is realistic and really immersive. I've been flying it for a couple of weeks and love it. Between this and ROF-ICE you don't need much else IMO.

  • I haven't seen SimHQ give a decent review in a long time. They sit on the fence like they're worried the devs might black ball them should they say anything even approaching negative. And heaven forbid you say something on their forums they disagree with. Just a bunch of trolls and groupies sycophants there.

  • @Booyaka9000 Yep, simHQ love to lick the corn hole of the game developers. That's why they hide their DRM discussion sub forum. Pussies!

  • How a company can release the final product and (at the very least) have s/p work correctly is beyond me.

  • All the campaigns are broken as well. So now we have not only m/p issues (which some people say doesn't matter as the majority don't play m/p) but s/p is broken as well. Big time broken. I've spent countless hours on the broken campaigns as well as countless hours trying to fix them in the editor.

  • If you're going to review hardware or software how about we say things like they are? One only need go to ED's forums to read that there's plenty wrong with this sim. However, I am confident that they will be fixed with an upcoming patch. You don't do your readers any good by omitting pertinent info. The sim is still pretty darn good, but there are a lot of things that were overlooked to fix and it was rushed to the public. Any beta tester knows this to be true.

  • It's a shame that SimHQ posts "the good" and "what could be better". How about the bad? That m/p is bugged and that clients are dropped quite often. This isn't just my own experience but those of members of several squadrons I fly with. Netcode isn't nearly as good as Flaming Cliffs 2 was. Or even Lock On before that. There are numerous other bugs that have been identified and will (I assume) fixed in later patches but they involve weapons deployment as well as avionics.

  • Brilliant lighting!

  • nice
