I grew up around where they played and saw them 1st time at a roller rink that a friend of mine's brother owned. They played there quite often..When they were out of town the Wailers would play... All of these comments I see hear and elsewhere make me smile. Of course everyone in the Northwest was aware of them...There was even a dance that many used to do at the time called "The Witch"... Seen & heard many bands after the Sonics but none ever moved me like they did & still do.

Amazing, these guys look like pictures of my dad I've seen from '66. No green hair, no piercings or tattoos, no obnoxious pouty glares. Just five guys in skinny pants & Spanish boots & mohair sweaters who made music that KICKS THE SHIT out of 99% of punk, hardcore & heavy metal, and everything else that came after them... By the way, BOOM is one of the rockingest albums EVER. Try to score an older reissue if you can, without the bonus tracks Norton tacked on...hear as it came out originally!
