  • cold one play the kelstone in a position such as a stick? like over the shoulder and free standing?

  • @ACDCwarmachine

    Hello there,

thanks for the question. If you would put the Kelstone around your neck, you would loose all the advantages.

You would have to stabilize the instrument and loose most of your expression, visibility, contact with the audience and other things.

Imagine the keyboard that hangs around your body, one hand is needed to stabilize the instrument. Same here you would loose one hand to play.

    Kind and best regards!

    Jan Van Kelst

  • is that a bit like a chapman stick?

  • Hello,

    thanks for your question.

The kelstone combines elements of the guitar, the piano and traditional tapinstruments like the Chapman Stick but is a new instrument that allows new techniques, harmonies and expressions because the hands lie on top of the strings. It stands on its own and demands a new way of playing, thinking than any existing instrument.

    Kind regards

    Jan Van Kelst
