@Peacukoo Casper's dad was a great inventor and engineer, when his son died, he devoted his life and attention to trying to bring him back, so he built a machine called the Lazarus that was capable of turning ghosts back into flesh and blood. the key was a very rare substance that was some primordial ooze or state, my guess is that his dad died before he could bring Casper back, and so there was only enough of the potion left for one, and Casper gave it to Kat's dad.

i hadnt seen this movie in years, i saw it a couple of minutes ago, best scenes for me are when the father is brought back to life, when it turns out the three ghosts kept there word and Dr Harvey got to see his wife, and when casper asked " can i keep you" amazing movie, it has changed me in one night.

I agree. I've always been afraid of ghosts yet curious about them, so this movie was perfect for me. :3 I also loved the main girl in this Casper movie in The Addams Family. She made a great Wednesday. :) I don't really remember her name, but ever since I was little, I've always been tempted to call her "Kat". xD And this tune is so romantic, yet so sad and haunting... Great for Halloween, which is when I've made it tradition to watch this movie since I was like 3 years old. xD

@bella6497 The animated girl is Rinoa from Final Fantasy 8. It's from the opening FMV sequence of the game--if you just type in "FF 8 opening," you can pull the video up pretty easily. I'm trying to figure out what the animated house is between the clip from Lord of the Rings and Ratatouille... Looks a little like a hobbit house? Or maybe Winnie the Pooh's house? Not sure...

It makes me happy to see video games represented here--there's a clip from Parasite Eve too.

"Casper" is fantastic Comedy/Fantasy movie with interesting storyline and great visual effects. This film is great choice for Christmas/New Year time - no less impressive than Home Alone. 'Casper' reminds me another great movies "High Spirits" (1988) and "The Canterville Ghost" (1996).

Bill Pullman, Christina Ricci and Malachi Pearson were impressive of course but Cathy Moriarty was just Brilliant. Amazing acting from wonderful actress
