  • Cheap Trick = National Treasure! Screw the RRHOF, they don't deserve to have Cheap Trick in that joke of a place!

  • This Version Rules!! Rick's guitar sound wow! That must've been his response to T. Wermen's watered-down "In Color" production hehe

  • I was at this taping. Became a fan for life! You guys ROCK! Thanks for putting this up!

  • I thought i was the only one that dig's this tune! im new to computer world, but it's nice to se there are still some rockers left in this world!

Thank you Mr. carlos for putting together a classic rock band. just outstanding!!

  • So dreamy! lol

  • *Green Day*

  • The original Greenday

  • i love these guys SO MUCH. i can play it on bass too :)

    Cheap Trick

  • absolutely amazing band - they took what seemed at first to be an "ordinary" song and rocked the hell out of it ! In Color is easily my favorite Trick album (cant blame me for being a teen at the time as well) CT is one of the few bands I can think of that created great albums, and yet were a bit better live - crisp, clear, talented, and still plenty heavy -- take notes, today's "musicians"-- this is how it should be done !!

  • One of my absolute fave songs by Cheap Trick!! I can't get enough!!! Talk about stage presence!! WOW!!! Thanx for posting!!!!

  • Such a kick ass song! Love it,

  • I remember staying up every Saturday night hoping that Cheap Trick or BOC would be on Rock Concert ... but usually it was only lame bands like Rush, Journey or Styx.

  • @ 2:15 ! ..........:)

  • Robin Zander isnt that much of a pussy boy

  • omg...2 fokin sweeet.......itz time 4 southern girls! \m/

  • this whole episode of Rock Concert they rage it!! amazing

  • brilliant song, Robin Zanders such a great singer

  • Cool song. I remember this playing continually at a party where people's shirts kept coming off.

  • This is the best damn 3 chord rock song freakin ever!

  • Cheap Trick is the greatest band in American history!

  • great

  • hey- what's my accountant doing playing drums?- just kidding Bun E is an underrated drummer.(his family was instrimental in bulding the panama canal)

  • "You say HUMP & I Jump"...geeeeez, damn you TV Censorship!!! ;)

  • I'm so totally doing an Osaka-kun amv for this. I know that's weeaboo. I don't care.

  • Robin and Tom <3 If only they were young and single now instead of before I was born.

  • I can't decide what is more amazing about this performance. Bun E's like a friggin' locomotive on that beat, and the bone-crunching guitar. The bridge, and Rick's maniac shtick. Cheap Trick rules the universe.

  • Cheap Trick wins big with Robin Zander! The bass has 12 strings, count em.

  • Watched this when it aired. Loved em since. Just as solid this winter at the House Of Blues in Boston 2010. Now I'm off to New York City to see Charred Walls Of the Damned at the Gramercy. Stay metal kiddies.

  • Yes, kids, they used to have canned clapping over live appearances. Your parents sure had it corny TV.

  • In 1978 I saw them as the 2nd warm up act before Sweet and Foghat...a year later they were headlining with 2 warm up acts.

  • love robin's voice! - - and bun e. - -far out man! all of them are great!

  • Moved to Germany in the early 80's to this little town and "Cheap Trick" was spray painted all over the bus stop there. Grew up with these guys and started my own bamd because of them!

  • My dad used to look like the drummer lol.

  • where they get that bass, that shit off the chain

  • its a 10-string bass the predescesor to the 12-string bass

  • In color and in Black and white was best classic rock album ever!!!! I love this more than Kiss and Priest! :)

  • four amazing talents, best act in rock... long live these kings!!!!!!

  • Awsome video from a fantastic group, sure do miss this level of talent in music. Thanks for posting!

  • @elebeu

You can sure say that again....the music today just doesn't touch the older bands like this.

  • I'm not sure...How bout them southern girls?

  • I've watched this vid about 50 times, and I can never get enough of it. Awesome.

  • Cheap Trick is still ROCKIN!!!

  • that 12 string bass is kickin ass in this vid

  • i think thats the 10 string it looks more white than pink and i don't think tom had a white 12 string i might be wrong tho

  • R-O-C-K-S!!!!!!

  • A-MAZ-ING!

  • Had never seen this before-a huuuge thanx!!

And just weeks before the Budokan shows-cool!

    Cheap Trick '78 rules!!!!!!!

  • @crapple009 I do think the awesome thing about this performance is that it was shortly before Budokan. Still rocked. Long live Cheap Trick!

  • Best performance of that song ever!

  • Damn, Zander is good.

  • The cabs aren't just shredded, they're BURNT--Rick had aircraft warning lights in them for awhile. That must've looked cool when they lit up!

  • Holy crap they were on FIRE at this juncture!!

Also diggin' Rick's 'shredded' SOUNDCITY cabs!! Advice courtesy of the great Jeff Beck, who suggested you poke holes in the cones with a pencil to 'improve' the sound!! HA!

  • i love rick's shredded amp grill cloth

  • This is a great performance of this song!! They're all so cute too!!

  • southern girls u got nothin to lose they speak the truth

  • OMG, this is fantastic!!! Thank you again for all these rare gems. It's really "takin' me back:!

  • This was the first video/song of CT's I ever saw. Watched it, thought, yep, that's my band, and that was it. Thirty years now since I first saw them here in Melbourne; found the band drinking in the hotel bar afterwards. Sidled up and had a chat. The week before that they were being smuggled in the back door of Japanese hotels to avoid having their bodies torn apart by girls.

Remember when you'd start hyper-ventillating when you got a crappy bootleg from some gig in Osaka? Times have changed.

  • Awesome. You know... I have a playlist that kinda shows the similarities between Cheap Trick and another famous band from the '70's click my name if you want to see it. You won't belive what connections I've found!

  • sweet

  • I see it's edited. It's supposed to say "Hump, and I'll jump." Still classic!

  • Seen Cheap Trick open for KISS in 1976 and been a fan eversince.

  • Muy buena banda!, estos videos los muestran en su mejor momento..!

  • Saw this when it aired. I never thought I would see it again. THANK YOU.

  • Yeah, thought this would never see the light of day again....Now if they can only get their back catalogue from SONY!!!!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that the Brothers Johnson were also on this broadcast?!!!!
