It's still two steps even if they come down at the same time. The reason why it's not a travel is because you are in the process of taking two steps and the ball is not inyour hands yet.
@Dalit5 this is how i understand it. I was always taught if you land on two feet squared up to the basket either foot can become your pivot. if one foot lands in front of the other then the back foot must be the pivot. I wish it was universally understood the Dre explained, because a lot of guys really abuse the jumpstop
@dreupt Hey I really need your help, I'm 5'6 165lbs and my coach wants to put me as point guard but my body is built like a shooting guard. What should I do tell my coach no?
This is a great move used at the right time. In your game clip, when you used it you took your defender off guard and raised up a shot that he had no way of contesting. Thx.
I never understood how this move isn't a travel. You leave the ground and both of your feet come off, you come back down and its not a travel. Yet if you jump for a jump shot, not take it, it is a travel...? rules confuse me.
@dreupt what's your take with dwade's game winner against the bobcats?

hey dre that means that when you land after the jumpstop, both your legs are your pivot foot? or can you still fake the shot and move 1 foot.
AhKai1994 5 months ago in playlist Dre Baldwin's How-To / Tutorial Series
@AhKai1994 after u land u cannot pivot technically. but i see ppl get away with it all the time so depends on if the ref calls it or not

Hey Dre, can you pick up ur dribble when the ball is in mid dribble and do a pro hop and take 2 steps? like the pro hop goes 1-2.
AnAProductions151 10 months ago
@AnAProductions151 i would have to see it rathe read it. interpretation of the ref is all that matters so ask them when you play
dreupt 10 months ago
@dreupt well the thing is that we play at school during lunch so we dont have a ref lol

You can pivot after you land right? Just not move the pivot foot? since your picking up the ball in mid-air..

BIGLEWI22 11 months ago
@BIGLEWI22 ur initial jump is w ur live dribble. the second is with no dribble.
dreupt 11 months ago
@BIGLEWI22 its called two contacts: if you do a layup u got left right = 2 contacts
here you got the foot you jump off as teh first contact and if (as dre said) you land with both feet at the same time it is the second contact
when you take a jumpshot and your are hopping into the shot - that means jumping catching the ball landing and jumping for the shot its no travel
hope i could help ya
kp91BB 11 months ago
@kp91BB great way of explaining it, two contacts
