  • As the father of two sons with autism, one non-verbal, I just wanted to say thanks. Your video was so inspirational. While most with autism are not savants—everyone, regardless of their abilities, has something to share in this world. Sometimes it’s as simple as the change for the better that they make in their caregiver or in the people who take the time to know them.

  • The human brain is really underused, and has capabilitys that unfortnetly we will never be able to use, unless something extra ordinary hapens like in case of this 2 guys. I have a brother wich have a mentaly handycap, so he can't learn and understand things like most ppl, but he has such a strong memory that if you give him a text he will tell you almost all the words in it, he can't read but he memorizes the words even in other laguages, and at home he is like the name incyclopedia. Lol

  • @ciriusn Our knowledge of the human brain is so very limited. I'm sure we'll find a way to use it more effectively as science progresses.

  • oh, they just said that. lol sorry. i typed that comment at around 1:30 or something

  • Daniel may be highly synesthetic. I'm only slightly synesthetic, but I somewhat experience what he's going through, just not as strongly

  • Lol at the last 6 comments.

  • Mumber nine, Number nine

  • i want to meet this guy!!

  • RIP Kim

  • How many languages has h learned?!

  • Holy Cow. The real Rainman is amazing.

  • @jimmy2lip Yep, unfortunately he's like a living encyclopedia and actually can't do anything with that knowledge besides regurgitate. Imagine if he could. He's be quite the scientist.

  • "A boy with incre...."

Gosh, where did you found this term?

there's a difference between boy, teenager, man, and oldman

  • This is so fascinating, 22,500 digits...God.

  • hm I'm a crazy American girl

  • Just because ur not like everyone else doesn't mean ur dumb, people think genius is being able to write perfectly.

  • mentally people are gifted man, read the bible. Near death experience is a good website. Dr Kay jaminson.

  • hmz I am new here and i can be shy and nasty too

  • he has the same birthday as me (-=

  • This guy isn't human.

  • This is something like the forth time I've watched this. It is amazing.

  • Read moonwalking with Einstein... its a new book and it explains how Daniel is most likely a con.

  • I wish I could recite everything I ever learned like that. That would be amazing.

  • Also what makes a person not smart?

  • @MrMazerman A person in a house with an emersion-heater complaining that there isn't enough hot water for a Bath, whilst running the Hot and Cold water simultaneously. That stupid person had a Phd in Chemistry, makes you wonder.

  • Food for thought. What makes a person smart? Is it how fast you learn? Is it how much you know? Is it how you learn? Is it good grades? Now think about these people and apply your idea of smart. Does it fit?

  • @MrMazerman If you ask me, it is a person's ability to use what they know practically. Be it writing or astrophysics. Being able to just store information and regurgitate it verbatim doesn't impress me much.

  • ha sensual girl here just for you baby

  • My lil bro's IQ is 161 (that's true) ,he's 11 yrs. he can beat the shit outta anyone in Chess ,,.. But he doesnt rank first in his class. ... but he's smarter than anyone else .... My IQ is 120 , I failed 5 times in a row , (just bcoz i was careless ) lol ,

  • "You might hear a sound" hahaha, whoa I wonder what that's like ;)

  • @DrNjtp "see a colour" - right afterwards! Oh dear lord...

  • IQ tests supposedly measure a person's potential, however, all that really matters is that you enjoy what you do, and what you accomplish.

  • i dont have social problems mayb a little shy but everything is normal feeling to me. i read things complexely and can go from talking about cars to getting a friend to go on a diet. I can remember 99 percent of events that has to me and i have been wrong on 1 event Learning may be easier but motivation and doing it is something else

  • im saying a lot but i just want to explain to you what high iq means...

  • continued from below..... I get a mid to high A every time while still getting an a and not even knowing the material. anybody can be a successful person high iq or not just some don't need to work as hard. Some people excel in other things while others do in other things. some people can learn a new language in a month while i might take a year to learn one. Normal people at my iq can talk by 5 months while it took me till i was 3. But i can tell what somebody is thinking and respond b4 theyAsk

  • my iq is at 1 in 100000 at 163 and this is my real iq mensa certified and everything Took it first when being tested for add. IQ is not how smart you are but how smart you can be. Einstein was 180 and used most of his capacity while obamas is 135 and uses about 5 percent of it. I dont know how much i use but it is easy to tell i am 163. Typing speed from 25 to 64 in 2 weeks of 10 minutes of practicing typing a day. I can not listen in class just write notes and take only have to skim over itonce

  • I failed my IQ test..

  • my iQ is 49

  • A lot of people would have been geniuses if they weren't distracted by the motive of money and materialistic garbage.

  • Hahahaha I was just imagining a Christian watching this and commenting on his comment on the number 6.

  • this is phony.

  • i would love to get stoned with this guy

  • 0:55 anyone notice how he described the number six as absense of anything, blackness or emptyness? No wonder the devils number is 666

  • Anyone that knows about deep down numerology knows he's on something very real!

  • WATCH MARKO RODIN

  • 2 savants talking, cool

  • 6 is the evil number

  • I dance to mumbo jumbo

  • @CommissarBraxton what like car alarms?"woo woo this vehicle is reversing, woo woo this vehicle is reversing"

  • wrong clip is weg the temple, half 5 moe jy slaapt ook niet hony???????????

  • That's how I read and I'm unemployed.

  • Let's make things clear

1.There are 9 types of Intelligence(according to Howard Gardner) and IQ tests take only 3 of them into consideration.

2.Many Autistic Savants can have high intelligence but low IQ.It's not like a normal genius with a high IQ.

  • 4:20

Who cares about his number thing when he can fucking levitate!?

  • @Soundfrequency Are you high?

  • All I have to say is, wow =)

  • Ive got an IQ of 20, but I know how to write and read :O

  • douche bag government

  • Lol the number guys expression at 6:33 XD

And my birthdays on January 31 too =o

  • rainman!!!!!

  • @ 1:50 thinking numbers and feeling emotion ... also he says see color and hear sound is a cross wired messed up brain! .... hmmm I'm pretty sure I gave this condition because I'm definitely confused!

  • @ 1:47 were all autistic because our minds are crossed and therefore strangely hear sound and see color! Nobody else catch that?

  • Does anyone else have synesthesia? I do!!!!

It gets annoying though when you're trying to learn a different language.

  • so there is a living form of Wikipedia...rainman

  • drug industry sure is stupid

  • after watching this video.... FUuuu U Geometry and Calculus.

  • I believe that Kim guy "Rainman" but, that Daniel guy is suspicious. There are normal people with higher memory skill levels than him. Daniel Tammet is probably a trained mnemonist milking the system. Making money with Interviews and books and the like. They should interview real memory champions who can actually make him look like a kindergartener. Search "World Memory Championships"! There are real people who accept their identity as Mental Athletes...and are not FAKES!!!

  • @okinam7471 Daniel Tammet is not a fake. Have you even read his autobiography? You should probably try that before you make yourself look even worse. He is a clinically proven autistic savant who has an unusually high degree of functionality. He seems like a normal individual here, but in his childhood he was very clearly autistic. He displayed stemming, social withdraw, lack of communication development, inappropriate affect. He is quite clearly not a fake, if you just do some research.

  • @199022008 Who wrote his autobiography? He did!! nuff said. Read "Moonwalking with Einstein"

  • The situation, how they shows it, makes me angry. The pretence as if that would be just fun to have such a brilliant brain and it's a great happiness (may be I'm exaggerating a bit)...

But for how many people is their brain and abilitys, specially their knowledges, a huge load day by day, every single second.

They know nothing, nothing about thought-flow and how it's torture the people and the brain itself. -.-

  • 39 people are so stupid for not liking this video

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

    That 69 comment was brilliant.

I'm an idiot savant less the savant.

  • I wonder what 69 looks like, *giggles*.

  • @Thesurrealtest hahaahahahahaha

  • dam these two guys are fuckin amazing

  • looks like the big brother of mister bean :)

but honestly, he's so amazing and so gifted and he's so lucky.

    he's above normal.

  • if this planet was full of human beings exactlly like him. we would not even be on this planet anymore

  • @GamerDude485 totally..

  • @GamerDude485 Yet if "autism speaks" has their way, all autistics(note peek isn't autistic) would be completely wiped out, because their goal is to exterminate autism.

  • @DEATHBYFLYINGCDS YES, I was just listening to this info, apparently due to their abilities they could figure out how to overthrow the illuminati, or along those lines, they work on a dolphin frequency

  • @jonafromwales No this isn't some crappy conspiracy theory. They have made it well known that they want to develop a "cure" for autism. This could be accomplished through several ways that they are researching. 1 by developing a prenatal test that would allow parents to abort unborn autistics just like they already do with down syndrome. 2 They want to "fix" the genes that cause autism. Those are just two methods off the top of my head.

It's not made up, they talk about it on their website

  • @EllOEllproductions ahhah dam your messed up, but i see what your saying though...

  • this got the rain man no where he never really got to experience life he experienced a book? but i am amazed of the possibilities of man i guess.

  • Wow, that's absolute amazing .

  • What would this guy see on a DMT trip?

  • incredible.

  • he see the matrix :D

  • Kim guy deserves getting laid lol

  • I wonder if this guy is using the method of loci to the extreme

  • Daniel turns 2044 on a sunday?

    ...what?

  • We finally know the secret behind Google.

  • @thesharkspirit hAhaha, good one.

  • it looked like kim fancied that daniel guy lol.

  • This guy might be able to beat Kim Ung-yong or Christopher Langan , the Korean guy with an IQ of 201 and the bouncer with an iq of 195...... although Daniell himself might have a variant degree of intelligences and may not be in the same line as the non-austistic geniuses, though he learned Icelandic within two weeks.

Vos Savant may be autistic cause she wrote in a pseudonym and stated that she was a hidden columnist for a long time before her Record holding IQ.

  • "One day you'll be a great as me."

    "fuck." *shoots self*

  • I KNEW that Chris Martin was a savant !

  • KID COULD BE A KAZILIONAIRE BY NOW

  • tis mkes me wonder is the worl we live in ,real?

if a person can see sound or hear vision how can we be certain that the world is real?and that the other person sees the world the same way we do.?

if this person thought that others see numbers the same way h e does then probably we all think that the other guy thinks like us.. maybe we see, feel and hear differently and yet not know it... m i right?

maybe what's black for me could be white for you but we think that we see the same thing. .think

  • @anirudhkrishnamani I would say the world is definitely real. You could imagine vessels(like blank humans) and each one has one of the 5 senses we have (as humans) and then one way to perceive them. So you get 25 combination's.

One can see- but it's perceived as sound, one can feel but it's perceived as emotion.

The outside world is still there and real but it's our perception of it that is unique to us.

  • @bigepi

when i meant real i didn't mean if it exists or not.. i meant like "is it really the way we perceive it?"

  • @anirudhkrishnamani i'vw asked myself the same thing many times lol

  • wow, that's amazing

and they told his parents that Kim was "retarded" and to "give up on him" ... obviously that doctor was a "tiny bit" jealous, I think... he probably thought to himself: "damn I wish I was as smart as this boy here, let's just ruin it for him, since there's no chance that I will get any smarter" ... :P

  • i feel as if this a form of genetic mutation its another step in human evolution.

  • 9 can be intimidating but 7 ate 9 so I'd be terrified of 7

  • What's wrong with "seeing a colo[u]r"? "Hearing a sound"?

  • @TheComposinator3000 nothing. :] google synaesthesia

  • @thaatxboss I learnt what it was at school. :) As long as you realise that seeing colours is perfectly normal, and that the reporter did a Freudian slip, where he should have said "see a sound" or "hear a colour" - that's the extraordinary thing. (It looks like some other people 'round here haven't realised yet.)

  • @TheComposinator3000 No, He said it right, because he said "and" not "or". So you'll see a color, because you heard the sound.

  • @TheComposinator3000 you spelled learned and realize and colors wrong

  • @smidysmith ... And you didn't punctuate your comment properly. Plus, in the part of the world that isn't North America, we spell those words "learnt", "realise" and "colours". But hey, you learn something new every day.

  • @TheComposinator3000 Don't pay any attention to these types. Most of my "fellow Americans" have no clue.

  • @Wazabooz It's good to see something with no mistakes on it on YouTube. Thank you.

  • such holy men of G.

  • 7:10 rainman's reading like he don't give a fuck :-D

  • Haha, at 1:46, he said everything the wrong way

  • @YHB100

No he didn't, he was explaining the condition and how it works.

  • @YHB100 no he didnt fucking moron

  • @killerkid123100 No, he said "things can get very mixed up... he might hear a sound... or see a color" Thats normal you little terd burglar

  • @killerkid123100 you're a faggot killerkid haha

  • @killerkid123100 Yeah, I got my 2 thumbs up bitch. Where are are your thumbs up?? Oh, I see a thumbs down. YOU ARE A PISSY SHIT

  • Daniel is now currently working for the CIA.

    lol.

  • At 2:50 when it says, "To find out more,". . . I was sure I was going to be sent to another website.

  • I read about a quarter as fast as he does, thats still pretty good right? Btw I'm 11

  • @DeathByKumquat no, you still suck. get a friend.

  • if he is reading left page with left eye and right page with right eye i wanna see him read a really wide book (o ) _ ( o)

  • its sad that kim peek died of heart attack last year..:(..thumbs up to the genius recent times!!..

  • @MrinalChoudhary lol you fail. attention whore

  • @MrinalChoudhary lol..i am not an attention whore though..was just appreciating the genius..:)

  • I wonder if he can work out what the future would hold? Will humans survive to the year 122 150 or will the world end b4 that?

  • Really this 'perfect memory' thing shouldn't amaze us to the extent it does. Think of how many gigs your computer holds- its all just tracks in the sand.

  • This guy is going to be on 20/20 tonight. I rememberd this guys face from this video.

  • "you don't need to be handicapped to be different because everybody's different" thumbs up to that!

  • @hedwig63 yeah very much agree to that

  • So cool, oh god.

  • Kim Peek reportedly had an IQ of 87 but yet graduated high school when he was 14. My IQ is 92 and I can tell you that I am no where near as smart as this guy. This really goes to show how irrelevant an IQ test is to a person's actual intelligence.

  • @esca8652 Don't confuse knowledge with intelligence.

  • @T3hShiznit Well... I'm not too sure of the exact details of what exactly Peek can comprehend, but they say that he can read 2 pages at once with 9 seconds per page. If he can comprehend everything he is reading and remember it all then that's pretty intelligent. You are right, there is a huge difference between having knowledge and having intelligence. A person can know many many things and still be quite dull. I'll admit, I did overlook the difference between the two.

  • @esca8652 Or perhaps that imagination is more important than knowledge...

  • @esca8652 my IQ is 139 and I failed 4 years university in a row... now Im getting high grades on everything...

IQ means nothing without the pre-disposition to actually work towards an objective...

  • @xouric0 Yea I know what you mean... my depression flunked the first year of my university regardless of my IQ.

  • @xouric0 University is a joke. Basically you pay people to tell you what you need to go and teach yourself, except you have no time to teach yourself because you have to attend lectures. The lecturers so boring and incompetent (with a few exceptions) that you are bored to tears and end up hating the subject.

  • @Sidowse not

  • @TomValedro Would you care to clarify, or expand your response?

  • @Sidowse : That depends on why you're going. The common misconception is that going to school will make someone intelligent. Universities have the ability to turn time and effort into knowledge to build upon discoveries of others. New discoveries can be made without going to school, but the primary practical purpose of college isn't to show you how to win a Nobel Prize, but to get a job and earn a living. You don't have to go to college to learn, but its worth taking the chance.

  • @illisanantexico Actually "The common misconception" is that the University Lecturers know about what it is that they are talking. When I did my engineering degree I had lecturers that were uhm-ing and ah-ing despite the fact that they do the same thing EVERY YEAR! Some of them just copied stuff from a book to the OHP. Eng, science and medicine are the only degrees where Uni is a neccessity, What is the point of going to uni to sudy History at £6000 a year when a book costs just £60?

  • @Sidowse Look, I get it. You hated your professors and thought it should have been you up in the front of the class teaching. Be that as it may, another function of the structured Univ environment is occupation-prep. Most of what a person learns in the lecture may not apply directly to their job, but being able to apply oneself and adhere to a set of responsibilities is what will be directly applicable in the "real world." I'm sure you already knew this and get along swimmingly with your boss.

  • @illisanantexico "Look, I get it. You hated your professors and thought it should have been you up in the front of the class teaching"

NO! you don't get it. I didn't HATE my professors, but the only reason I was there was to learn, NOT TEACH! University doesn't teach you anything about the workplace, an internship at 18 would be 1000X better.

    I don't have a boss.

  • @Sidowse "I don't have a boss." = My point exactly. There's a surprise. I can get from your online demeanor that you don't appreciate authoritative figures. Which is precisely what I was getting at. All in all, we can agree on one thing. The college experience *was* lost on you. You obviously didn't get those things that college is supposed to teach you. Synergy/Teamwork, ability to follow directions/orders, adhere to requirements/guidelines, etc...

  • @illisanantexico ["I don't have a boss." = My point exactly. There's a surprise] U have just done a 180. U are basically saying that if you are going to be the boss of a company you shouldn't go to uni.

[Synergy/Teamwork, ability to follow directions/orders, adhere to requirements/guidelines, etc... ] LOL. I didn't need to be taught that! Why make someone rich when you can make yourself rich? Also, I might not have a boss, but I have to keep clients happy, ie follow directions. requirements...

  • @Sidowse "I don't have a boss." = "I don't have a job." (Anyone who is self-employed will tell you, they still answer to someone. If you're not providing customer service in some aspect or another, well -frankly, you're not in business. Someone who is an independent contractor is not a person with no boss, but MANY bosses. Every customer is their boss. (If they are providing adequate service.) I'm done entertaining this futile argument. Best wishes.

  • @illisanantexico [I'm done entertaining this futile argument. Best wishes.] An argument that u started. Perhaps if u followed ur own advice u could be ur own boss too. BTW U are stupid to presume so much about someone you have never met. You seem unable to think for yourself and thus are unable to question the socially accepted normals in life.

  • @Sidowse We're taught that our classroom is a model for our workplace, our classmates are models for our future coworkers, and our instructors are models for our one-day supervisors. Often in my courses group projects have been assigned and very little emphasis is put on the actual project but the entire goal is to learn to cooperate with others to meet a deadline. The instructors that seem incompetent/rude/etc... are perfect preparation for that boss that a person will someday.

  • @Sidowse yeah except that attending lectures is one of the most interesting things I have ever experienced..

  • @h0wud0in2 What was the subject in question?

  • @Sidowse Analysis, mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics etc

  • @h0wud0in2 I envy you. Although I did have a decent lecturer for Electro-statics/magnetism.

  • @Sidowse Exactly.

  • @xouric0

can you tell me what did you changed? i also failed last year.

    iQ is not the problam

  • @xouric0 My IQ is 155. I'm a sophomore in high school, taking Calculus B. Patterns come easy to me. I adore sequences. My Art teacher failed me for not drawing a tree correctly.

  • @flowiepanda u prob took an inaccurate IQ test.

  • @flowiepanda Okay lets test that. What group gained the most from 9/11? Is the Earth growing?

  • @flowiepanda as an artist id like to say that your art teacher sucks ... nobody can tell you the identification of what YOU draw/ create. (congrads on your school-skills, keep it up)

  • @xouric0

    IQ is essentially your potential.

IQ also makes it easier to understand things.

IQ makes it easier to learn things.

  • @xouric0 My IQ is 140 and I was once the weakest pupil in my class.

    Later I became the best.

In most of things I learn at school, I understand and memorize almoust everything in class even the long numbers such as 238.491 km2 (romanian liveing space).

But i didn't gave a test designed for iQ's bigger than 140-143, so there is the chance of a bigger IQ.

  • @UnleashedFire do a mensa certified test and you might get a little lower but it will be legit

  • @xouric0 is your IQ mensa certified? thats really motivating stuff! i've failed a lot too at university but im not stupid just wasn't interested in the past years but now i am.

  • @xouric0 i dont care.no one cares
