  • "Bob's coming to get me." that made me lol :)

  • I like your take on Harry Potter! very interesting, I never thought of it like that before. Thanks for the tips!

  • This is VERY informational - thanks so much!!!

  • I'm sitting here taking notes haha

  • This helps so much :)

  • aaaaaah! it's Count Bob!!! oh noooo! lol

  • A charactor can develop from a plot. All of my stories start with a plot.

  • FUCK.. LOOK OUT, ITS COUNT BOB.

  • This is great! Very helpful! Thank you! =)

  • Pls. Pls. Rerecord with good audio.

  • MY CHARACTER HAS AN EVIL TWIN! He doesn't know though - so it's not really a secret:')

  • Good video, thanks for posting :)

  • OH MY OGD!!! 9:43 SUCH GOOD ADVICE, listen and learn.

  • it would of helped if you would of drowned the sound a bit

  • Not good to do this in a noisy environment.

  • Perhaps the enemy is the protagonist his/herself. AAAAAAA

  • Just featured this video on my website, Triple R.

  • What does 9:11 have to do with what he's talking about?

  • @J0hnXi0ng Subliminal messaging obviously.

  • @J0hnXi0ng i honestly have no clue XD

  • wow haha is this serious? worst video ever!

  • This was REALLY helpful!

It gave me some good ideas about the main characters in a story i'm working on, and even gave me a great idea about the plot of the story!

    thanks!

  • "Who is gonna be the hero of the story that you want to tell? Who's your Harry Potter, who's your Alex Rider, or who's your Tracy Beaker."

I was sceptical of these videos at first. That line made me stop watching.

  • I've gotten so much out of just watching the first and second parts of these videos. Thank you so very much.

  • thanks. Great advice here. I recomend this to anyone who is stuck or wants to start writing.

  • This was really helpful thank you.

  • Good prof, you have done an honest job in giving real tips, unlike other writers who just want to tease the viewer to sell writing programs

  • great man, that was awesome

  • Can't a character have no friends?

  • @finbomartini Holden Caulfield had no friends.

  • @deziistheone

I think it's alright for a character have no real 'friends', but the character must have some run-in friends or acquaintances, just to give the story some extra perspective and depth. I have no friends, but I'm still quite a character. :P

  • @deziistheone but he did have social acquaintances, wouldn't you say?

  • @moviedude22 He did indeed. I was giving an example for finbomartini's comment on if a character could have no friends. Was one example that came to mind. I think it's interesting to watch characters develop friendship. Unlikely friendships especially. I think character development is the toughest thing to do. Some great advice in this video.

  • "Just imagine if he was called Bob, Count Bob is coming to get me." to funny man. I think this helped answer the question I had to the first part. I hope it works anyway, or I'm fucked.

  • Ambition, is a hard one for me. My character doesn't really have much of an ambition, or at least I haven't thought of anything yet. XD This is very informative; thank you so much. Subscribed!

  • Nice And breif .. Thank you

  • This is excellent. I'm always looking for ways to improve. Thanks so much.

  • Thank you, your video has helped me add another trait to my main character that id been trying to find and it just appeared like magic whilst watching your video. So thank you because i now feel as if my main character is complete.

  • Paul Priestly features as the main vampire character in my novel Disco Evil: Dead Man's Stand by Rod Marsden...it out now through Amazon...

  • This video gave me a breakthrough in the way I saw one my characters. It made such a dramatic change that I'm going to reshape my whole book, and this time around it is going to be vastly better.

Thank you for posting these videos!

  • In one way or another I am usually my main character though I mix him up with other people. I have created a character named Paul Priestly because he sees the world in a very black and white fashion. He doesn't see the gray areas between good and evil, right and wrong.

  • Ooh, interesting :)

Do you know what your book will be called yet? I might want to read it if it gets published

  • This was really useful, thankyou!

  • Your videos are very professionally done, especially this one.

No need to listen to people like 13Elphaba13, he's not going to be a professional anywhere in the nearest future.

    Keep up the good work

  • thanks very much.

  • This was so interesting and informative. Thank you very much for taking the time to put these together and post them. I'm sure I can speak for many novice writers when I say this is very helpful and even inspiring in ways. Thanks.
