  • they were at their peak on this album, class !!

  • Simon Phillips was the best drummer Priest ever had. Why didn't they keep him?

  • EXCELLENT!!!

  • Sounds great! Sounds even better on the original mix on vinyl!

  • KK Downing looks kinda cute here does´nt he? .-)

  • @fortheloveoftunes Dude, I once had a dream about me and younger KK. You probably don't want to know.

  • @Cookiofshadows Let´s leave it for the imagination

  • @fortheloveoftunes Yeah I didn't think so. Don't worry, I'm the same person I just had to get a new account due to an accidental account deletion.

  • Gotta love the 70s priest riffs. The main riff in this song I mean come on thats what rock n roll is fuckin all about man

  • I love Les BInks, but wonder what they would have created with Simon had he gone on to make more abums with priest.

  • the first true heavy metal song!

  • @michikuTV LIES!

  • @MrLetmepeeinyourbutt say me one song more heavy that this (1976)...or more heavu that tyrant (1975)..

  • @michikuTV black metal has been around in small crowds since the 60s

  • @MrLetmepeeinyourbutt black sabbath?? i love black sabbath but this is heavy metal pure...doble beat in the drums, heavy guitars, and halford voice with high notes,TRUE HEAVY METAL!

  • @michikuTV dude i wasnt talking about black sabbath I was talking about black metal you know like Satan worshiping music. You asked what was heavier then this and I told you: black metal. I'm not saying that it's better or worse then this because it isn't a question of opinion

  • @MrLetmepeeinyourbutt I don't consider black metal the heaviest metal genre, it is noisy yes, but it doesn't have the pure aggression of thrash, like Kreator's Pleasure to Kill. Judas Priest pioneered the riffing of thrash/speed metal with songs like this one, Tyrant, Dissident Agressor, Stained Class, etc.

Modern metal started with Priest's 1976, 1977 and 1978 albums.

  • @Guaporense1 Listen dude I'm not saying that black metal is the heaviest metal genre but you'd be pritty damn stupid to think this is heavier then black metal. It's not a matter of opinion, it's a matter of observation. Black metal might not be your favorite and it's not mine either but as I said before black metal has existed in small crowds since the 60's. Your original request was for me to name one band that was heavier then this and I cant give names, but I do know that they existed

  • @michikuTV Dissident agressor!

  • @Guaporense1 dissedent agresor, call for the priest, tyrant , the ripper, heavy metal 4 life!

  • this rocks. hard.

  • ladies and gentlemen... this is heavy metal.

  • i love all judas priest's album even tim's albums blues, hard rock and heavy metal judas is the best =)

  • classic jp..the 1st 5 albums for me are the real priest sound..no metal..heavy fukin rock!!....simon phillips best drummer btw :-)

  • Oh God I love this time in my life!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Indeed one of the greatest bands throughout the years, JP has palyed the right songs at the right time...only the best, they have manage to crowned their carrer now with Nostradamus...wow what a fucking job!

Hail Judas Priest!! Heil to all their drummers!

  • This is the first album I ever bought! 24 years ago, J.P. is fuck yeah righteous!!

  • That fucking drumming is SO good. I love Simon Phillips

  • HEY, YOU LEFT OUT ALLEN MOORE!!!

  • these guys have always been brilliant at creating the right music for the times. When metal went radio it was time for basic straightforward drumming to appeal to the masses. the 70s music is like Deep purple and zeppelin. smoke weed and zone to the changes. the 80s called for simple songs. the only thing i hated was what they did with turbo, but still brilliant cuz it kept them relevant when people were ready for a change.

  • Les binks was my favourite

  • the drummer on this album was Simmon phillips,,,,,

  • This so epic when your high.

  • so true

especially the bass during the chorus

crank this up and get baked

  • good stuff

  • I did always like Philips myself, but Les Binks was very inventive. Even though British Steel was a step forward in material, I though something was lost--something generic crept in to the sound. I always ascribed that to Holland's drumming affecting the writing. Tipton acknowledged that it did have an effect.

  • What the fuck are you douchebags talking about? Binks, holland, Travis? Can you really tell the fucking difference? Gimme a fuckin break. Priest IS and ALWAYS WILL BE HALFORD< TIPTON<AND DOWNING. Save your retro cool music conosueiur bullshit for someone else!

  • the music matters, your all wittering on about trivial shit, shame on you!

  • Simon was 17! Listen to him now with Toto....Hello?

  • @recruit97 As lame as their music is everyone in Toto's a great musician.

  • Les Binks was the best drummer for them hands down. He was perfect!! But Simon was fantastic on Sin After Sin!!! Great drum sound on the record too!!! And Dave Holland was great for the 80's era for sure. I just prefer Les Binks and the 70's era the most. Alot more creative music in that era. Wasn't just balls to the walls metal all the time. Alot more diverse during that period. Just my opinion.

  • @bassmanjoe Bullocks, I like all of their music ! Been a fan since the late 70`s . Unfortunately they don`t stop in San Diego any more so I have to drag y arse up north to see them . Can`t wait for the next & hopefully not the last album . We (My Metal girl & I) Just saw Scorpions on the farewell tour & the 61 yr old rockers were running all over the place !

  • Don't talk about Dave,ok?

  • Kurmuutti .......For the record Dave Holland is a mediocore drummer........This is Simon Phillips.....A real drummer

  • dave holland is an awesome drummer

  • Glenn would murder any guitarist any time.... but Im not sure if he could murder mustaine~!

  • i want to jam so bad right now on the drums and guitar but its MIDNIGHT, and my parents wouldn't appreciate that too much, they wouldn't understand if i said, "well i just got done listening to priest ..i had to!"

  • Dave Holland was perfect for what they needed. They were a guitar band, not some dumbass kick-drum band. You're all fools. The Travis years happen to be the shit years. For morons only.

  • Well you could put that better, but there's a hint of truth.. People say that Dave Holland wasn't good, but I think he was perfect for the 80's Priest, just like Travis fits their new style better. Just because Dave wasn't as fast as Travis doesn't make him necessarely a bad drummer. Glenn's not as fast as Dragonforce guitarists for instance, but I'd still rather hear Glenn.

  • @Metallian You're right. But I say Herman Li, Sam Totman and Glenn are equally matched. I listen for quality of sound, not speed and Dragonforce does have some quality songs such as Prepare for War, Cry of the Brave, Revelations, The Last Journey Home and of course Through the Fire and Flames. DRAGONFORCE AND JUDAS PRIEST FOREVER!!!!!!!!

  • @Cookiofshadows

Yea, it was just an example really. Whatever sounds good is good, nothing else matters, hehe.

  • the early JP is so good and yes, non format/commercial stuff. get all from rocka rolla to defenders. . . .worth it ^^

  • So why does it suck? Reason with us.

  • Double bass Rules!!! This is Simon "fuckin" Phillips!!! Priest forever!! ; )

  • This is no soldout commercial crap, this is creative metal like none other!

  • You are correct!

  • All this talk about drumming on such a beautiful piece of music seems like such a waste.

  • Yeah, I reckon that's Simon's playing...

  • Phillips played on this and no other album. He was a renowned session drummer at the time, Binks joined after for 3 albums. Les Binks IS the one in the picture though.

  • which one got arrested for molesting a mentally challenged teenager

  • Dave Holland who joined in 1980 and was by far the most uncreative drummer they've had too!

  • ya Dave Holland really sucked on drumming. Scott Travis is awesome! probably the best drummer around!

  • hamid, you're right, Scott's got the lot and makes it look effortless live. Power, grooves and showmanship, top man!

  • sin after sin, great album.

  • I don't give a fuck who is in the picture. This is Simon Phillips playing, that's why the drumming is so fucking brilliant. Check out the credits on Sin After Sin. The facts as follows: For their next album, 1977's Sin After Sin the band chose to use session drummer Simon Phillips for the recordings. For the following tour Les (James Leslie) Binks played with the band who were impressed with his performance and asked him to stay.

  • Viva Judas Priest......this song kills..........

  • Thats Les Binks not Simmon Phillips

  • LES IS GREAT

  • In my point of view, in that picture, K.K.Downing seems Randy Rhoads (R.I.P.) and Simon Phillips seems David Byron (R.I.P). Anyone agree me?

  • Dude, Simon Phillips is not in the picture.

  • Ok , thank you for the information, but who is? I think that he´s not John Rinch neither Dave Holland.

  • That's Les Binks.

  • Thank you again guy! But he still looks like David Byron (R.I.P.). I forgot Les Binks...

  • "John Hinch" ;-)

  • this is a good song. imagine an old man lying on his death bed. what would say? he would ask you to call for the priest.

  • fanastic album, Priest at their best

  • this is still on of my favorites a thunderous blast connecting the 2 songs as if they were one.
