Timed burns need to be exactly calculated whilst taking into account: limited fuel, momentum of the craft, position of the craft relative to where the calculation took place, the time lapse between calculation time and transmission of signal to "astro-nots" for execution, due to the craft being a 'dynamic system you would need to also factor in Chaos Theory... this is just for starters.
It's not possible with today's technology... much less 1969.

Not true. The reason you can't see stars during the day is that Earths atmosphere has refracted sunlight to the point that that it drowns out the light from stars. There is no atmosphere on the moon so you wouldn't have any refraction of light which means you SHOULD see stars. Just like you can see stars when you look up at the sky... EVEN when standing under a bright street lamp. Faked Moon landing... the only explanation.
