I live 6 miles inland (30N x 86W) avoided the beach, no seafood, no oil clean-up.The Gulf Coast and the seafood is contaminated. The toxins are in the Gulf, the air, and the rain. People on the Gulf Coast are getting sick.
The spill is not that bad. The media made it much much worse than it really is. 95% of the oil has already dissipated. Take a look at the very bottom of this recent article which came from a tourist evaluation looking at different beaches. @danconia3873 ( I wrote a huge long response and then realized just which part of my comment you were questioning.) Because they seem to have a one track mind and are pretty much focused on stemming/stopping the leak and using dispersant to make it appear less disastrous.
Therefore I am assuming (never a good thing to do) that they won't really fully address cleanup until the flow is stopped. Otherwise they would be using every means necessary to clean up the oil and they are not.
Dr. Mike Castle has another proven clean-up method but has been blocked at every turn. His product is Amerihaz, it is amazing. Microbes and Amerihaz will clean up the mess, but BP (Beyond Ponzi) and the Federal Government are not interested!

What microbes are being talked about here? Not all microbes eat oil as is described in this dated video. I just started taking microbiology and the term "microbe" is just another way of saying "microorganism". There are many upon many types of "microbes" so what is the microbe they are talking about here? Again, not all microbes eat oil like this, what is the name of the specific organism in the video?
I haven't a clue why they aren't using this in the Gulf. Maybe they don't have enough life preservers like those skimmer boats that got recalled by the Feds. Sunlight, the composition of seawater and natural microbes work on oil, changing it into other forms, one of which is tar. Sources of tar balls include ships flushing almost empty fuel tanks to clean them for another load and U.S. oil tankers torpedoed by Japanese subs in World War II. The cabal is not interested in using microbes and quickly cleaning up the spill! The damage caused by the spill has to reach maximum potential and last for years. Oil is a product. Not waste. The Dutch skimmers plus skimmers available from other governments can get this oil. That way BP can sell the valuable oil and helo oay for the cleanup. Why destroy a product?

We have done a lot and Congress is unreachable, they were approachable two and a half years ago now we can only send to our Senators and Congressman in our districts. I work for a Regional Oil distributor in Oklahoma city, and we use a similar product to treat our runoff wastewater form our tank farm.
The product we use is called "bio-sorb". You mix it with water, or if there is water already present you can apply it straight to the spill. You can watch it instantly remove oil sheen from water as soon as it hits it, within hours/days it will eat larger concentrations.
I have heard about this and wondered why it wasn't being used. This is THE solution for it, and is friendly to the environment. BTW for a little comic relief (although there is truth in some humor) do a search for "Mr. Dicksome" it's a novel if sarcastic approach LOL.

Oil booms are effecitive, there just isn't enough of them. I've seen these bacteria work before and they are really slow though. But if not BP then at least the government should be dumping these on the oil slicks. The company that breeds these bacteria should be getting out there and advertising this!

There's a 50/50 chance it'll work and a 50/50 chance that it will just do even more damage and render the oil leak that much more unstoppable. We need to find a better more feasible solution. What do we need to do so that this can be done. Forget BP they aren't going to get anything done. Can ordinary Americans set up a voluntary organisation now and collectively get this on the way. How many people will be affected by doing nothing? If each person was to contribute a donation to get this solution in practice, how much do they need to raise and how soon can it get done?

We need our own civilians to take control of the situation, on location, because I don't have much faith in the ability and willingness of BP and the Federal Government to do everything that they need to do and they are even attempting to prevent even the media from being on location near the source of the spill from what I've seen discussed elsewhere. I called the BP hotline for ideas on how to clean up the spill. No one picked up, so I left a message, hoping and praying that someone will listen to it. We should all call, I'm also messaging my local paper and news station. I encourage ALL to call and contact their representatives, governors and the President as well as the newspapers, and local news stations. If this spill is going to get cleaned up, it's up to US to make sure it does. We cannot rely on a Corporation or government.
This sounds like an excellent solution, my only question is that is a controlled closed environment and a finished spill, what about in an open environment? An actively spewing pipe? Can they not conceivably get into the underground oil supply?
How can we get some microbes? Let's just get some, get a boat, and go out there and spray them in! I listened to an interview and what I hope to be a conspiracy.. they are saying that the gusher isn't just some oil well .. but something much worse. and that we don't have the capability to 'cap' it because it's too much pressure. and that high amounts (1000's of times the safe ppb levels) of very harmful compounds are being released by it. @danconia3873 ( I wrote a huge long response and then realized just which part of my comment you were questioning.) Because they seem to have a one track mind and are pretty much focused on stemming/stopping the leak and using dispersant to make it appear less disastrous.
Therefore I am assuming (never a good thing to do) that they won't really fully address cleanup until the flow is stopped. Otherwise they would be using every means necessary to clean up the oil and they are not.

The White House's biggest screw up with this "spill" is its low key reaction. Why aren't they or the states trying different solutions to the oil/shoreline problem? Divide the coasts up into sections and let different solutions (maybe like this microbe answer) prove themselves. Let good ol' American ingenuity solve these problems. I haven't a clue why they aren't using this in the Gulf. Maybe they don't have enough life preservers like those skimmer boats that got recalled by the Feds. Sunlight, the composition of seawater and natural microbes work on oil, changing it into other forms, one of which is tar. Sources of tar balls include ships flushing almost empty fuel tanks to clean them for another load and U.S. oil tankers torpedoed by Japanese subs in World War II. So lots of Oil & microbes creates lots of tar. need Physical removal

Oil is a product. Not waste. The Dutch skimmers plus skimmers available from other governments can get this oil. That way BP can sell the valuable oil and helo oay for the cleanup. Why destroy a product?
Of course, the microbes are a valuable resource in wetlands, as shown. But they will only be useful at the shoreline, NOT in open water.

I work for a Regional Oil distributor in Oklahoma city, and we use a similar product to treat our runoff wastewater form our tank farm.
The product we use is called "bio-sorb". You mix it with water, or if there is water already present you can apply it straight to the spill. You can watch it instantly remove oil sheen from water as soon as it hits it, within hours/days it will eat larger concentrations.

Oil booms are effecitive, there just isn't enough of them. I've seen these bacteria work before and they are really slow though. But if not BP then at least the government should be dumping these on the oil slicks. The company that breeds these bacteria should be getting out there and advertising this!

There's a 50/50 chance it'll work and a 50/50 chance that it will just do even more damage and render the oil leak that much more unstoppable. We need to find a better more feasible solution. What do we need to do so that this can be done. Forget BP they aren't going to get anything done. Can ordinary Americans set up a voluntary organisation now and collectively get this on the way. How many people will be affected by doing nothing? If each person was to contribute a donation to get this solution in practice, how much do they need to raise and how soon can it get done?

We need our own civilians to take control of the situation, on location, because I don't have much faith in the ability and willingness of BP and the Federal Government to do everything that they need to do and they are even attempting to prevent even the media from being on location near the source of the spill from what I've seen discussed elsewhere. I called the BP hotline for ideas on how to clean up the spill. No one picked up, so I left a message, hoping and praying that someone will listen to it. We should all call, I'm also messaging my local paper and news station. I encourage ALL to call and contact their representatives, governors and the President as well as the newspapers, and local news stations. If this spill is going to get cleaned up, it's up to US to make sure it does. We cannot rely on a Corporation or government.

This sounds like an excellent solution, my only question is that is a controlled closed environment and a finished spill, what about in an open environment? An actively spewing pipe? Can they not conceivably get into the underground oil supply?

My assumption is, being life forms, they depend on oxygen to survive. So they really couldn't operate in that environment.

How can we get some microbes? Let's just get some, get a boat, and go out there and spray them in! I read an article in the paper today about some county, I think In Alabama that voted unanimously in their council to protect their coast from the oil spill no matter what, even if they had to break the law!

Can you mail a big bag of microbes to a journalist near an infected beach? Can they pour the microbes into a pool of still water, video the results and do a report on it? If no-one wants to broadcast their report on the national news, they could post it on your Youtube page (because we know about your page) and we could force the video to go viral. Maybe that would get the "right" persons attention, whoever the "right" person is.

the problem with this is that it does not allow the oil companies the chance to regain their oil. in other words: the oil companies want their oil back at the cost of the environment.
i say we petition the U.S. government to use this process and restore our environment.

I've drilled some wells looking for oil, and actually used microbes as an excuse in the post mortem: "gee, the oil was there when we spud the well.........I think that dirty mud logger poured microbes down the casing.......they ate our oil reserves......."

I listened to an interview and what I hope to be a conspiracy.. they are saying that the gusher isn't just some oil well .. but something much worse. and that we don't have the capability to 'cap' it because it's too much pressure. and that high amounts (1000's of times the safe ppb levels) of very harmful compounds are being released by it. Dichloromethane, Benzene, Hydrogen sulfide. Man I hope that is just a conspiracy theory.
