@MrBasboris Absolutely zero interest in SWTOR. The only mmorpg i'm keeping my eye on at the moment is ArcheAge. Sadly it's fantasy, but at least it's a sandbox and not yet another themepark.
@Kuokka77 Ya.. SWTOR just didn't fill the shoes. I mean I tried my hardest to truly accept it but, it's not the same and it's way to... empty. Guess nothing can replace Galaxies.

@frenor0302 It wasn't cancelled due to graphics. It was cancelled because Sony belived the game had run it's course. Also the new Star Wars MMO is coming out on the 20th December (SWTOR) so it looks like that's the new Star Wars MMO to go to.
Space Combat really needs some work, i played the beta over the weekend and it's... well a tunnel shooter.
The Developers has said that over time they will improve and listen to feedback on any changes, apart from that SWTOR looks like a solid game to play.
Shame that SWG is closing however, so many good memories playing it :)
@Elrohof I updated the video description to contain a link to the official SOE announcement about SWG's closure. There are important dates there you need to know if you still want to join the game (and yes it still costs money - for a while).
@Ratti666 Official release was in June 2003, so it couln't have ruled in 2000-2002 :) I'm sure you meant the period between June 2003 - April 2005 (pre-CU era).
@Ratti666 SWTOR is a "themepark" mmorpg (just like WoW is). SWG is a true sandbox (and was even more during pre-CU). For me sandbox features are a must, so in my books these two games will definitely not be comparable at all.
@Kuokka77 you cant have a sandbox mmo and have nice looking trees, buildings, smoke, mountains, snow, etc etc and get a good ping or low lag hence why when i look at these videos of swg i see alot of flat booring terrain and textures. So in swtor you wont be able to walk 45 across the map it make take 10 i am fine with that all day in order to get something that looks great. However i wish JTL can switch over to swtor.
i hate what Sony did to this game. i think that this game would have been free to play by by now if Sony wouldn't have put their greedy fucking hands on it.
It makes me wanna play it again, I Was the 1st to get master Pilot On Flurry. Every MMO is boring, SWG was always fun, wonder how much they actually added to the game, anyone mind telling me?
@xb4dbadx Since JTL? Erm, lots of new items and I means lots! There's the new digital card game that has obtainable loot. There is currently a new gcw system going on. It's possible to get your toon up to general in a few weeks because of it. A new nightsister theme park. Zombies. Space bounty hunting, new droid commands, jedi can wear armor again, No more AFK grinding, almost everthing is tradeable, lol I can go on!
@Gingymann It's still breathing. Deserted-looking player cities have always been a problem in SWG imo. Only iconic places like Mos Eisley (npc city) can look busy. Still far from what WoW-Orgrimmar is during weekends though.
still better than wows graphics take off shadows.

I've played it 4 years from the beginning, I left when they implemented the Jedi and also the enw inferface.
But this game was much better and complexer and more free feeling than a cartoon easy game as wow (ive played wow for 6 years btw).
Wished this game evolved with time...it had so much potential, game ruled in 2000-2003

Anyway this game had so much potential, I loved it to be mroe complicated and advanced than the regular "wow" mmo
If you see at Starwats Old Republic you see a lot things taken from Galaxies.
Hope it will be comparible
