@xevilxlustx I listen to symphonic metal and bands of similiar genre, they're mostly european bands. Many, many fans agree with me that their aggrotech is 10x better than their new era.
They sound a little like early CoF (The Principle Of Evil Made Flesh), more like Dimmu Borgir (whom they toured with), but the closest match was Ancient when they had Lord Kaiaphas (listen to "Wilothewisp"). I actually thought that was Lord Kaiaphas at first. I wonder what he is doing now. I miss him. Anyway, I actually like the new style. It suits them better imo.

Cradle of filth is a shitty gothic/extreme metal,which Dawn of Ashes has NOTHING similar with. DoA was a dark electro band,and now they are some kind of mix between Melodic death and melodic black metal. A band does not change its sound just to please you. I still think that DoA was better before. But they have not sold out just because of that.

This is really good death metal but I fail to see a reason for such a drastic change. I mean, do what Psyclon Nine did. Just add it into they style. This is like an entirely different band.
The gore and blood make this band awesome! Not only do you get a show when you go to a Dawn of Ashes show, but you get to headbang to the music as well. You never get bored lol

Saw these guys at SXSW this last week. I wasn't expecting it. It took a bit of the impact off as it was during the day, not very scary. Nice stage presence, boring music.

This is really good death metal but I fail to see a reason for such a drastic change. I mean, do what Psyclon Nine did. Just add it into they style. This is like an entirely different band.

The gore and blood make this band awesome! Not only do you get a show when you go to a Dawn of Ashes show, but you get to headbang to the music as well. You never get bored lol

Way too much gore for this kind of music. Will they ever grow up? The music is not bad at all but I liked the old stuff better.
BTW, if you want some real DEATH METAL go and check Nile, Azarath or smth...

@esk6a the horror theme is their style. deal with it. Nile's style is ancient egyptian, ok that's cool... You know, I think it's actually refreshing to see a band whose style isn't derived from ancient Gods/Mythology/Religion.

@wolfmanjacksaid Yep...I see what are you talking about. I just find this "gore bloody shit" stuff a bit nonsense...and musically compared to nile they are just mediocre. However they are still better than a lot of todays "death/black metal" bands. Before they released this album I was sure it will fail, fortunately it doesnt.

Look guys the fact about this is that, whether they do death metal or EBM (personally I listenede first to the DOA that made EBM first and liked them, but when I heard this death metal DOA I would say that the other one is just a huge load of shit) these guys have GREAT musical talent. You must acknowledge that going from EBM to a nice Death metal is a big fucking step and they made it.
