Are they thinking "no one's gonna buy him as a bad guy. Unless...we cut his hair!" Test, Val, Christian, Jericho, Richards...

@tdylan I don't think that's a WWE decision. Guys like Test, Kidman, Christian and Jericho all cut their hair around the same time. They were probably getting sick of it and wanted to change it up. Seeing others in the locker room cutting theirs making them feel like it's time for a change.

It's a known fact that long hair makes heels look bad ass because of how it moves in the air. Look at Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Kevin Nash (who also cut his hair around the time), Scott Hall,Big Show, etc.

Kevin Nash's hair was cut by Jericho because Nash needed it short for his role in the Punisher movie. Kidman cut his hair to help lose the "Raven's flock" image that he had in WCW. Test cut his hair as a part of reinventing himself so that he'd be popular like The Rock. The Rock's fans were "the people," Test's fans were "Testicles."

@tdylan Maybe storyline-wise. Other than Kevin Nash it's not known why the other guys cut their hair. Venis cut his long before the Chief of Staff gimmick. He cut it as early as 2000 when he was managed by Trish Stratus.

Kidman wasn't known for his "Raven's Flock" image by the time WCW ended so he had no reason to cut it because of that. Post Flock he was already a popular superstar, with the Seven Year Itch/Shooting Star Press finisher.

It's unknown why any of them really cut their hair.

It's as if the writers think "people won't take it seriously that he's really a changed man unless we cut his hair." Didn't they do the same thing with CM Punk when he was feuding with Rey Mysterio? "He's a heel. Shave his head." Gene Snitsky was brought back with a shaved head & psycho attitude, and Kurt Angle lost his hair after feuding with Edge/putting Edge over as a face. See the pattern?

He goes psychotic and it's "revealed" that he never had long hair, but it was a wig all along and "heel Kane" has a shaved head. That is not coincidence. That is a bunch of writers stuck in their ways. "Is he a face turning heel? Cut his hair so that the audience loses all connection with his former self and see him as a new character."
